The Night Fußball Came Home is a post from: Just Football
Ioffer you no match analysis. I care not for tactics. Distance covered and pass accuracy is irrelevant. The match itself was pulsating.
The stoic dignity of Jürgen Klopp and his team as they stood arm in arm, motionless in front of their supporters and tearfully received their applauded respect will live long in the memory.
With ninety seconds left to play at Wembley Stadium last night the moment came, and when it did it was reminiscent of a Bayern Munich hero of the past. Arjen Robben had already skipped into position between two defenders, and with a swivel of his hips he sent a scuffed shot across the Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller which trickled agonisingly over the line to win the 2013 UEFA Champions League for Bayern with a move that had a hint of the golden days of Gerd Muller about it.
Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund An alternative Champions League Final Preview is a post from: Just Football
Claude Levi-Strauss. Not the famed hawker of denim attire. The French anthropologist and ethnologist. Granted, it's not quite the conventional opening shots of what ostensibly is a preview of the Champions League Final but he nevertheless is relevant to what will duly follow.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will make UEFA Champions League history on Saturday when the two giants square off at Wembley Stadium in London in the first all-German final.
It will be a banner day for the Bundesliga, which has rallied from a mid-2000s slump in continental play to put its name in the running today for the title of best league in Europe.

Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund (FOX, 2:45 p.m. ET/11:45 a.m. PT): Quite often, UEFA Champions League finals make pretty poor betting opportunities but I strongly believe this year's version is quite different and provides some pretty good chances to make some money in the last big match of the European season.
Borussia Dortmund are apparently looking to do their best replication of the Westfalenstadion at Wembley Stadium on May 25th, as the side are set to take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. The Telegraph recently released news of how many BVB fans actually applied for Champions League final tickets and the numbers are astonishing.
Either way, the Olympic men's final will end with one of two teams claiming gold for the first
time.
High-powered sides Brazil and Mexico do battle for the Olympic crown at Wembley Stadium Saturday

It's Holloway vs Zola in the Championship Play-off Final Crystal Palace v Watford Preview is a post from: Just Football
by Katie Ball
Crystal Palace v Watford kick-off 3pm GMT, Wembley Stadium
On MondayGianfranco Zola and Ian Holloway will lead their respective teams out at Wembley knowing they are only one victory away from the ultimate stage in English football – the Premier League.
Wembley Stadium will not see anything so good again, as what will happen on Friday evening. For the first time since 1993, San Marino come to town and are promising goals. Granted, these goals are very likely to be flowing in the San Marinese net rather than Joe Hart's, but the travelling side nevertheless have this goal-rich guarantee when they enter the Wembley pitch on Friday.

English kits to bear the Nike Swoosh - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Nike and The Football Association have announced a new partnership that will see the world's
leading sports company design and create the kits for men and women's England teams at every
level.
The first England kits to bear the Nike Swoosh will be launched in Spring 2013.
Whenever these two countries lock horns on the football field, it is always has an extra level
of importance no matter what the circumstances are, and tomorrow, in Olympic Stadium in Kiev,
Ukraine, they meet in the Quarter Final of Euro 2012. I can hardly believe that it is eleven years
since they last played each other, and historically, the series is close with Italy winning nine,
England seven with seven draws.
The revamped Wembley Stadium is once again flourishing as the hub of major football occasions. On Monday, the home of football will turn its attention to the most lucrative football match on the planet. It's not the just-played Champions League Final. It's the Championship playoff to decide which club will be promoted to the Premier League.
In one of the biggest shocks in FA Cup Final history, Wigan Athletic defeated Manchester City 1-0 today at London's Wembley Stadium.
With minutes to go before the full-time whistle blew, Wigan substitute Ben Watson came up for a corner kick and brilliantly headed the ball into the back of the net over the arms of City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Skirmishes between Millwall supporters erupted at Wembley today in the latter stages of the FA Cup semi-final between Wigan and Millwall.
TV footage and photographs showed small groups of Millwall supporters fighting between themselves near a corner of the ground. There were scenes of policemen trying to push fans back, while it appeared that some Millwall supporters jeered their own fans who were causing the hooliganism.

otros 31 clubes se unieron a los tres ganadores en la segunda ronda de clasificación, incluido el

When the final whistle blew at Wembley Stadium Saturday afternoon, a wide range of emotions
quickly came and went. First was relief, Oscar's header went wide. Then came incredulity – did I
really just see what I just saw? Euphoria followed. Is one allowed to cry when in a euphoric state?
I hope so, because I was blubbering – what Oprah calls the "ugly cry.
Mexico won their first ever Gold Medal the Olympics (soccer tournament) by defeating favorites
Brazil 2-1 at Wembley Stadium. Brazil were the favorites with a talented squad worth millions in
transfer fees but could never recover from a slow start.
Mexico's Oribe Peralta gave his side a 1-0 lead with a goal in the first minute.

It may have been more nerve-racking than most fans would have liked, but Great Britain is
through to the quarterfinals in this summer's Olympics.
Great Britain emerged as leaders from Group A while simultaneously eliminating Uruguay after a
1-0 victory over the South Americans at Millenium Stadium on Wednesday.
Brazil's elite womanhoods thespians will attain something Pele, the great soccer participant of all
clip, ne'er managed in his calling when they vie at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.
It was a tournament that seemingly had everything: excitement, drama, historic venues, broken
records, controversy and redemption. And of course in the end it featured the triumph of the U.S.
Olympic Women's Soccer Team.
With a 2-1 victory against Japan in the championship game, the Americans claimed their fourth
Olympic gold medal out of five Summer Games in which women's soccer has been contested.
The U.S. Women's National Team exacted revenge and defeated Japan 2-1 in the gold medal match of
the 2012 London Olympic Games on Thursday at Wembley Stadium. The victory, which marks the U.S.'
fourth gold medal in women's soccer, comes 389 days after the U.S.' penalty kick loss to the
Japanese in last year's World Cup Final.
The U.S. Women's National Team will be looking to win their third straight Olympic gold medal
today, while also exacting a measure of revenge, when they face Japan in the 2012 Olympic Final at
Wembley Stadium (2:45pm, NBC Sports).
The Americans enter today's final undefeated in five matches, having survived a thrilling 4-3
extra-time victory against Canada in the semifinals.

When the U.S. Women's National Team takes the field Thursday against Japan, it will be a step on
another legendary football ground that has epitomized the USA's journey through the 2012 Olympic
Games.
Ricardo Clark will be getting a fresh start at the end of this month.
Clark and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to terminate his contract, the club announced on
Tuesday. Clark has been on loan with last-place Stabaek in Norway, where he has received consistent
playing time, but that deal expires at the end of the month, upon which time Clark will be a free
agent.
This past weekend, the pitch at Wembley Stadium, home of the England national football team, was striped, non-metrically, numbered and played host to a more pointed football, the Untied States' National Football League.
Brazil face Mexico in the Men's football final at Wembley tomorrow. Mano Menezes' team go into
the tie as favourites having won all their previous games and scoring three goals per match.
Mexico, though, have a decent record against the Brazilians and won all but one of their games
leading to the final.
Continuing the country's recent trend of success on the youth international level, Mexico will
play for Olympic gold.
Mexico battled back from an early deficit and got a goal and an assist from Oribe Peralta to
post a 3-1 victory over Japan in their semifinal match at Wembley Stadium Tuesday, sealing a place
in the Olympic final against either Brazil or South Korea.
Of course they did. How could they do anything else? If the Olympic football tournament wasn't a
"proper" international football tournament already, it became one after what someone will surely
call Team GB's "ignominious quarter-final exit on penalties" on Saturday night. Nevertheless, those
questioning the legitimacy of Olympic football might point to Team GB's failings on a night when
everybody else in Britain seemed to win an Olympic medal of some description.
