Some news broke over the weekend that LAFC would be revealing their stadium plans on Monday. Instead of playing in 2017 like everything was originally planned, the club will now kick off their inaugural season in 2018 with a brand new stadium.

I've been thinking for a while now that the group that owns the NASL side Indy Eleven need to be in MLS. Maybe it has to do with PeterWilt managingthat club or maybe it has more to do with the renderings of the stadium that were just released.

Hot damn.

The Indy Star had the scoop on the renderings that were released, detailing the $82 million stadium that will hold roughly 18,000.

We've heard for weeks how the new Falcons Stadium in Atlanta will transform into a MLS venue in 2017. It appears we finally have a glimpse of what the $1.2 billion stadium will do when it does indeed transform from a NFL venue to a MLS venue.

The new team, which was officially announced last week and will be owned by Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, has released a video showing how the upper sections will be closed offto give the stadium an 'intimate soccer environment' similar to BC Place, home of the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Looking at these photos, the thought of a stadium on Pier 40 for New York City FC would be amazing. But man, this has to be too good to be true. Right?

SportsGridspotted the following leaked renderings originally posted over at Reddit. As you see below, they are quite impressive even for a potential stadium that likely will never see the light of day.

Miami Stadium Has Soccer Potential

WVHooligan at related • 2 views

So the NFL's Dolphins have released this video, it could be weeks or months old for all I know but it is interesting to see the inside of the potential stadium flip from football to soccer. As much as I hate MLS teams in a NFL stadium, I could see this work for bigger international games.

FC Dallas Wants A Roof Over Their Heads

WVHooligan at related • 1 view

One of the biggest complaints I hear from folks in the Dallas market about FC Dallas Stadium is the lack of shade. Sure if you sit on the west side of the stadium, most nights you are covered in some respects. But the south and east gates put you squarely in the sunlight and on hot summer days, that can be a pain.

Revs Discussing Stadium Plans

WVHooligan at related • 1 view

I feel as thought this might be a broken record when it comes to stadiums and the New England Revolution. (The same would apply for D.C. United too)

Every deal sounds good and each time it ends up going no where. So why is the latest news any different?

Revolution president Brian Bilello confirmed that the team is in preliminary talks with Revere, Mass, a urban suburb of Boston about a potential soccer stadium.

D.C. United Hopes To Start New Stadium Construction In 2013

WVHooligan at related • 1 view

At this point you have to wonder where exactly they plan to put the shovels into the ground to build this new stadium. I, like many United fans, enjoy hearing the owners and Payne come out and say that they want to start digging next year. But boy does it all come down to where.

Very interesting article though, give it a read.

People who are close to me know that I am a sucker for two things: soccer stadiums and city skylines. Combine the two and I am worthless as all I'll want to do is spend time looking at them together in all possible elements.

So here it is, thanks to the Houston Dynamo Twitter feed, the new BBVA Compass Stadium at night, with the downtown skyline in the background.

Stadium Talk: San Jose Nears Final Hurdle, DC Getting New Lease

Two interesting and totally separate stadium discussions to start the week off with this morning.

First up in San Jose.

The Earthquakes are close nearing their final hurdle to get their own soccer stadium built. San Jose owner Lew Wolff's plan to build a $60 million soccer stadium faces its final vote Wednesday night, when the San Jose Planning Commission is expected to decide whether the city has adequately addressed residents' concerns about the stadium being in their backyard.

Dynamo Stadium Sexiness

Saw this photo over at Stadium Porn. Good gravy this one looks nice. The inside may not have the bells and whistles that LIVESTRONG Sporting Park or Red Bull Arena have but I do believe this one will go right in line with the rest of the new(ish) stadiums in MLS.

Well done Houston.

Saputo Stadium Goes Digital

WVHooligan at related • 1 view

A little stadium pOrn for you today. Today's edition comes from Montreal where Stade Saputo (or Saputo Stadium) gets a little digital love with their virtual site.

Its a cool little stadium, something that will work nicely in MLS. Nothing overly sexy about it but one that I kind of like. It's the simple little things I suppose that work with this.

BC Place: Almost There

For those still wondering when the Vancouver Whitecaps would end up in their real home, BC Place. The club has released this little video to show you all that they aren't that far away. I have to say the retractable roof concept there seems pretty cool.

Chivas Co-Owner Hints At Moving Out Of HDC

This has been a hot-topic really since day one for Chivas USA, playing in the Home Depot Center. Most fans would love to see them get their own place which in a way would make the SuperClasico rivalry with the LA Galaxy even better in my eyes.

Chivas USA co-owner Antonio Cue confirmed Thursday to MLSSoccer.

I know we're a year away from seeing the Montreal Impact enter Major League Soccer but it isn't too soon to talk about their on-going stadium expansion. The club posted these photos today on their website, showing off the latest renderings and models of the expanded Saputo Stadium.

New Wizards Stadium Ad

I love a good ad like this. With all the buzz in Kansas City yesterday as the Wizards beat Manchester United, let's hope some folks that went to that game were able to take some time to see the new venue (yeah I'm totally unaware of where Arrowhead is in relationship to the new venue!). This new stadium is going up super fast though, any chance it will be ready for next season?

Houston Gets County Approval For Stadium

Another test down for the Houston Dynamo Stadium deal. Today Harris County Commissioners Court unanimously approved their end of the deal as they become partners with the City of Houston and the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority in building a new stadium for the Dynamo east of downtown.

KC and Portland Stadium Rendering Battle

WVHooligan at related • 4 views

It seems as though this morning was all about some stadium porn. Mike and Down the Byline pointed out some cool photos in the KC media guide about the new stadium while TOR unearthed this cool info on the PGE Park renovations in Portland. Let's just say both stadiums will be cool but KC wins the battle in my book, this new dig for the Wizards has loads of potential written all over it.

Its a headline we've heard before but this time around its really happening. The Houston city council unanimously approved a deal to help fund the Houston Dynamo stadium.

According to Sports Business Journal, the Philadelphia Union have sold their waterfront stadium's naming rights to a local power company called Philadelphia Power & Lights (PPL). The deal will be for 10 years, $20 million.

Not bad at all for the Union considering Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah was for roughly $1-2 million a year for ten years.

The final round of qualifying is set for the United States men's national team. Jurgen Klinsmann has a couple of months before things will really kick off as the schedule isn't even set yet for the 10 game slate. But even as early as it may seem, it is always a good time to talk venues for the five home games for the US.

LA Stadium With World Cup In Mind

WVHooligan at related • 1 view

Sure Los Angeles doesn't have a NFL team to fill this potential venue (yet, I always believe someone will move there again) but the designers of this stadium in east LA have one big thing in mind, the World Cup.

Not to shabby looking either if you ask me.

The LA Galaxy owners AEG are the ones planning to build this stadium to lure a NFL team and the World Cup.
