After the game yesterday we were in no way criticizing the performance of our lads in the Arsenal game in that first half we were the better side, and the game could have gone either way but of course if Newcastle had won it 1-0 things would have felt a lot different today [...]
Three of the top clubs in Europe will be back in the Champions League next season after Arsenal, AC Milan and Schalke pulled out close wins on the final day of their respective seasons.
Arsenal denied North London rival Tottenham the final Champions League spot in the Premier League by holding onto a 1-0 win at Newcastle United.
We didn't get relegated this season and almost two weeks ago that was very possible, and if Wigan had beaten Swansea at home 13 days ago, we would have been 3rd bottom for the first time this season, with just a couple of games to play. Mike Ashley three of Newcastle's worst seasons in [...]

Alan Pardew will meet with Mike Ashley and Derek LLambias this week to sort out what needs to be done this summer, but a 5th bottom finish in the Premier League will make it that much harder to attract top players to Tyneside. Andy Carroll coming home? Newcastle don't need too many players, since [..
And to think last August we had dreams of doing well in the Europa League and again challenging for a top six position or even a top four position in the Premier League. Alan Pardew after one of the many disappointments this season But as so often happens at Newcastle, those dreams were not [...]
Arsenal fans should be used to having our hearts in our mouths towards the end of just about every game since Christmas, but with so much at stake yesterday's game at Newcastle was even nervier than most. Laurent Koscielny's goal calmed us all a little, but we still had to suffer right to the end of the 90 minutes.

The curtain came down on Newcastle United's season with a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in much lower spirits than it had gone up with a 2-1 victory over Spurs on the opening day back in August.
Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew begin their inquest on Monday on what happened – or didn't happen – over the last ten months of a season, not without its highs, yet with some major lows.
While Wigan spoiled the opportunity to make this a Survival Sunday, the Premier League clubs made up for it with a cascade of goals —36 in all for an average of 3.6 per match.
Here are the match highlights for all of the games on the final day of the 2012-13 Premier League season. Due to rights restrictions, the videos are only playable in the United States.
In our last six games, after were eliminated from the Premier League by Benfica we own one and drew two and they a=were all away from home, and in our three home games we lost the lot and conceded 10 goals without even scoring one. Not good. Mike Ashley must bring in at least [...]
This has been a shocking season for Newcastle United, and after finishing 5th top last season and having a shot at a top four place, we have finished 5th bottom this season, and were fighting relegation how's that for a turnaround in the wrong direction. Alan Pardew second worst season ever in [...
This was a very close game this afternoon, and Newcastle can feel a little unlucky to go down by a single second half goal, after the game was very even for much of the time. Koscielny bangs in the winning goal for Arsenal Sunderland managed to be beaten 1-0 at Tottenham, so a late equalizer [...]
Newcastle went down 1-0 this afternoon to Arsenal for our third successive home defeat, in which we haven't managed to score a goal, but this afternoon's performance was so much better than in the last two and the Magpies were unlucky not to take something out of this game. Let us know who you think [.
Arsene Wenger seems to have made his decision to include Jack Wilshere in the Arsenal starting line up today. Unless he is doing another of his old Jedi mind tricks, of course, and Mikel Arteta and his unmovable appear on the St. James' pitch this afternoon. Assuming the Spaniard has failed to recover from his calf problem, it will be Jack who plays alongside Ramsey.
It's a day of goodbyes today on the final day of the 2012-13 Premier League season. Farewell to Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Scholes, Jamie Carragher, Wigan Athletic, Reading and Queens Park Rangers.
It's also a goodbye to FOX Soccer, who'll be televising their final Premier League games today on US television before they shut down in late July or early August.
Jack Wilshere is heading for a small operation in the summer to remove a pin from his ankle, but is still expected to play some part in today's game against Newcastle due to the injury to Mikel Arteta.
He admits that this game is so crucial that there may be a few nerves amongst the Arsenal players, but says they just have to calm and professional to make sure of the three points, no matter what happens in the Tottenham game.
This time last year BR was up a mountain in Italy getting SMS's from Peaches. It was in the middle of a huge thunderstorm when I received her final celebratory text. Today I will be watching from a joyous and hung-over Denmark.
I have stated often my belief that luck and referees will decide our fate whether it be a dodgy penalty given to Spurs or a vicious deflected goal for Sunderland (I cannot put a bok on our team).
This is Newcastle final game of the season a season that has been very disappointing for us in the Premier League to say the least. But a win today could see us finish near mid-table and even in 10th place if other results go for us. And of course our last two home [...]
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has probably performed the best of any of our new arrivals, as the 23 year-old is quickly getting used to the English Premier League. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa played well for Newcastle Mapou, as we've said before, is a leader both on and off the field, and he's been one of our best players [.
It's clear when Mike Ashley gave Alan Pardew and his coaches those eight year dealsbecausehe wanted some stability at the club, on which to build a successful side. Alan Pardew - I'm here for the long run And while Newcastle over-performedlast season we've under-performed this season, but with a bit of luck, we could even [.
Mike Ashley did this two years ago, before our last game against West Brom, and he's doing it again for our last game against Arsenal on Sunday. Mike Ashley offers £1M in bonuses Mike is offering £1M in bonuses to the non-playing staff if Newcastle can get a win on Sunday, and of course [...]
If you could bottle what it is that makes Arsenal put in a storming run at the end of the season, you would be a rich man. While Tottenham generally choke at the end to leave them disappointed and out of the Champions League, the Gunners come good and get the results we need, despite a mountain of pressure.
That's what this game is all about. The last game of the season before the boys head off for their holidays and us on the other side of the white line, scour the inter-web in hope that we've signed someone spectacular. One last effort is needed for the boys. Our record since the 2nd week of March stands at 8 wins and 2 draws in all competitions.
Arsenal head up north tomorrow needing a win to secure a top four finish, while Newcastle have nothing much to play for, although this and other results could see them finish anywhere from 10th to 17th. Alan Pardew will try to upset Arsene Wenger and Arsenal and give the home fans something to cheer about.

Transfer rumors continue to fly hot and fast for Manchester United star striker Wayne Rooney. As of May 18, 2013, the want-away forward has been linked all over Europe and continues to increase the amount of speculation around his future in England.
It has been very impressive the way Arsenal have handled the pressure on them this season. From a morale sapping defeat to the hated spuds, Arsenal were left seven points adrift and it seemed like this would be the year Tottenham finally finished above us.
Maybe we should thank AVB, because the spuds' croaky voiced manager's gloating claims of a downward spiral for Arsenal had the opposite effect and we are now back in the driving seat.
Referee Howard Webb and his team of officials swapped shirts at half-time during yesterday's match between Newcastle and Arsenal amid fears that their yellow jerseys were irresistible to Tyneside's insect life. After being bitten by midges in the first-half, Webb and his assistants swapped to green shirts at half-time.
It's not the last day of the season without the odd false rumour or two. Yesterday, someone at White Hart Lane started a very cruel rumour that Newcastle had equalised against Arsenal. Spurs needed the Gunners to drop points to have any hope of qualifying for the Champions League, so you can understand why their [.
After yesterday's Newcastle v Arsenal match report here, Neil wrote: "Player of 2013 so far is Koscienly. Once Wenger went for him instead of Vermaelen...he proved that he is considerably better than any centre back around." Neil – I couldn't agree more.

Long-serving Newcastle keeper Steve Harper plays his final game for the club against Arsenal this afternoon. The St James' Park crowd marked the occasion with a minute's applause and chanting for Harper in the 37th minute in recognition of Harper's squad number. The veteran goalie was clearly moved by the tribute and was seen crying.
The Newcastle team against Arsenal today is almost as expected, with Steven Taylor coming back in to partner Fabricio Coloccini in central defense, after he missed the game at QPR through illness. Mike Williamson doesn't even make the bench today and as expected veteran goalkeeper Steve Harper will start his final game for Newcastle, after [.
Arsene Wenger is famous for finishing in the Top Four, and more importantly for Arsenal fans, always finishing above our rivals Tottenham in every season since he arrived at the club.
Tony Adams, who was a big factor in Arsenal's glory days under Wenger, has no doubt that the Gunners will win today and carry on that fine tradition of St.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is offering his non-playing staff a share of a £1million bonus if they beat Arsenal in this afternoon's match. Ashley is reported to be a Spurs fan, and a Newcastle win would secure Champions League football for Andre Villas Boas' side providing they are able to beat Sunderland in today's other [.
Last week, Alan Pardew joked that he didn't care if Arsenal won 4-0 this week, so there has been much debate about whether Pardew's Newcastle team will actually turn up and fight Arsenal for the three points today after securing their Premiership survival last weekend.
But today it has now been reported that the Toon owner Mike Ashley has set aside a MILLION POUND bonus to be shared amongst the non-playing and coaching staff at the club if they can galvanise the team to win their final game at St James Park.
Expect a hatful of goals in Arsenal's final match by FD
Not long to wait now. This season's closing day might not promise the kind of impossible drama that last year's title decider served up, but Arsenal and Spuds fans are in for a potentially tense afternoon while waiting for the final whistle of the Premier League season to blow.
New images of Manchester United's home shirt for next season have been leaked on the Internet.
As was reported in December, Manchester United's new home jersey for the 2013-14 season will be plain red with black trim, and will feature a buttoned-down collar.
The design of the collar is the most unique aspect of the shirt.
