The first stage of the 2017 Major League Soccer Re-Entry Draft took place on Friday afternoon with two teams adding faces to their respective rosters.

Teams hoping to land a quality player in today's MLS Re-Entry Draft, the first phase of a two draft re-entry process, will find the selection much smaller than what was initially released by Major League Soccer earlier this week.

Several top options have been removed from the initial list, and won't be available in today's draft, including the likes of Marvell Wynne, Tony Tchani, Justin Mapp and Rodney Wallace.

FC Dallas made it clear on Friday that it had a plan in mind by trading up to acquire the first overall selection in the MLS Re-Entry Draft.

That plan turned out to be selecting Maximiliano Urruti.

In Phase 1 of the Re-Entry Draft, FC Dallas nabbed Urruti, the Portland Timbers forward and MLS champion who was only one of two selections on the day.
