Why there is Virtually No Loyalty in Football anymore by Scott M.
Hi Gooners,
The reason why I've decided to write this article is due to most of us football fans constantly getting angry when players leave the clubs we support, and particularly in this case our club Arsenal FC, Now what we need to all take into consideration is the evolution with how the sport has changed over the years.
Arsenal needs to buy!!! We are 2 to 3 to 5 to 7 players short of a historic quadruple. Oh how stubborn Wenger is not buying anyone. Wenger has lost the plot!!! Stan Kroenke needs to go. Bring on Usmanov...
We have heard these words repeatedly in the last few years.
Arsene Wenger has been getting lots of criticism this season, from Arsenal fans, commentators and some, but not many, former players. He has been given a glowing reference and vote of confidence today from everybody's favourite Frenchman, Samir Nasri.
The player who is never slow to claim glory for himself, has surprised people (me at least0 by declaring that he would never have achieved success if it had not been for the tutelage of Le Prof.
Theo Walcott was bought by Arsenal for a fantastic amount for a 16 year-old, and Arsene Wenger has nurtured him through his whole career (despite his numerous injuries and setbacks) and made him into the player he is today, but Walcott has repaid his mentor by making him suffer through 18 tortuous months of contract talks without reaching an amicable conclusion.
What does the Captain's armband mean nowadays? by AH
With the news that Jack Wilshere is set to be offered a new long term contract, it's also been reported that the club will look to implement Wilshere as Club Captain in the next two and a half years. Jack Wilshere is known to be Arsenal at heart, having come through the academy ranks, and the young Englishman has even said he doesn't need an agent because he will never want to leave Arsenal.
Paris Saint-Germain's President, Nasser al-Khelaifi, has revealed that he tried to get Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal in favor of the French club which has already spent £212m as they hope to make it as one of the top sides in Europe.
Whilst speaking to the Guardian, Al-Khelaifi said that PSG tried to persuade Wenger to leave the North London club last summer but the Frenchman remained loyal to Arsenal despite a five year lucrative offer.
Morning all, welcome to a brand new week and one that will kick off with another high profile
departure.
Alex Song will become a Barcelona player today and Arsenal will receive somewhere in the region
of £15m + add-ons for him. For some it's a sign that we're content time and time again to sell our
best players, for others it's a good deal for a player whose reputation outweighs his talent.
Loyalty is the state or quality of being faithful to one's commitments or obligations. It can
comprise faithful adherence to one's club or cause notwithstanding circumstances.
This is an update to the update for the Arsenal supporting knobs fans that I hold so
dearly to my heart. All this while, I remained silent out of respect and loyalty to the Arsenal
(heh!). Oh and I was also busy mentally spending the additional 145,000 pounds I will be getting
from signing for United.
Doomsday? by SV So, that's actually happened then. What do we do now? The bombshell was dropped
yesterday, that our once beloved skipper has decided that loyalty means nothing to him, prompting
him to join our fiercest rivals Manchester United. Oh God, typing it again just hammers it home.
What a disgusting thought.
Arsene Wenger – The REAL Special One by CS Arsene Wenger, I'm sure most of us would agree, is a
man of integrity as a person, and he brings this into his football management style at Arsenal,
which is why he's so widely respected by players and peers the world over. Over the years, although
[...]
There have been numerous rumours linking the Arsenal midfielder Alex Song with a move to Barcelona,
but there has been no official confirmation from either side, except the usual unsavoury tapping up
be the Barcelona players. Now today, Song himself has confirmed that there has been interest in him
(and mentions Barcelona) but he has [.
Appreciation For Tomas Rosicky: A True Gunner Time for a break from the mind deteriorating tabloids

Where has all the loyalty gone? by AH Gone are the days where it was often to see ‘one club'
players who stuck to their first club and often grew attached to the club as a fan. Tony Adams is
the perfect example that everyone thinks of because he was the heart and base of [...]
Has van Persie started to break the bond between a club's fans and their players? At the beginning
of this so-called summer things were looking pretty good as an Arsenal supporter. Whilst Podolski
hadn't officially transferred due to the transfer window not having opened, the deal had for all
intents and purposes been done.
Arsenal Football Club has announced the outcome of a major review of its ticketing approach
ahead of the 2012/2013 season.
The move follows extensive discussions with supporters and supporter groups including AISA has
led to changes designed to provide thousands of tickets at lower prices, reward season ticket

More bad news for Arsenal by BA Arsenal football club and it's supporters value loyalty very
highly, so we should not think badly of Younes Belhanda. The 22-year old Moroccan international was
being hailed by some as the man who Arsenal would use to heal the wounds inflicted by Robin van
Persie. The Montpellier midfielder, [.
He leaves when he wants, he leaves when he wants, he's Robin Van Persie and he leaves when he
wants. by Adam Kemp In most teams a captain is supposed to demonstrate fierce loyalty, inspire his
teammates and represent the club's philosophies. Unfortunately the captain's armband at Arsenal is
signified as a price tag for [.
With a statement on his official website, Arsenal captain and Premier League top scorer Robin
van Persie, announced that he will not renew his contract with the club. The timing and content of
the statement were both curious since Arsene Wenger had just said, "We want to keep Robin van
Persie at all costs, because we depend on him offensively.
A statement on the players own website, issued this evening, makes clear that he will not be
renewing his existing contract.
In a message to the fans, van Persie said:
"This is an update for the fans about my current situation. I have kept quiet all this time
out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr.
In news that most Gooners were dreading, their beloved captain RVP decided not to renew his
contract with the north Londoners. The Dutch striker released the following statement on his own
website:
"This is an update for the fans about my current situation.
Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has stunned the entire Gunners community by revealing that he
won't sign an extension with the club due to diverging views about future development.
Van Persie, 28, enjoyed the best season of his injury-plagued career last year and despite
making it clear several times that he was desperate to win silverware, the team remained hopeful of
retaining him because of loyalty reasons.
Let me start off by saying that I would love to see Robin van Persie stay at Arsenal. He's a
leader, he's our captain and his ability to score goals is second to none. When fit and on-form,
there are not many better strikers around at the moment.
Our skipper managed to stay fit last season, and in the process, he picked up an impressive 30
Premier League goals; an achievement that paved the club's path to a 3rd-place finish sitting above
mega-spenders Chelsea and arch-rivals Tottenham in the league.
While the future of Arsenal skipper and super striker Robin van Persie remains unclear at best, his
deputy Thomas Vermaelen has made his intentions crystal clear by declaring he wishes to stay on at
the North London club "forever". In a declaration more apt for one's wedding vows, 27-year old
center back Vermaelen took advantage [.
What is going on? Footballers showing loyalty to their clubs were thought to be a thing of the
past! First RVP is told to repay Arsenal's faith and reject any big money offers for him. Today,
Talksport reports that the reported Arsenal target Mathieu Valbuena has abandoned any plans he had
to join Arsene Wenger [.
It's going to be another 26 days before some form of competitive football will be played. All
right, fine. There's one more this weekend and after that, it's still another 21 days before the
start of the European Championships. If I haven't state it enough, I'll state it again. I hate
Spurs but the prospect of them playing in the Champions League qualifiers is not worse than the
prospect of John Terry and Frank Lampard lifting the big ears trophy.
I'm hoping the long gap between games isn't causing the players to lose focus as badly as it has
me – although it is a concern after our last performance!
This is just a bit of interactive fun to fill the time before we take on city tomorrow.
One object of the exercise is to test whether your loyalty to Arsenal might just possibly cloud
your judgement in matters concerning by far the greatest team the world has ever seen.

Men's monogamous relationship with football - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Lying and cheating are two of the most prominent reasons why any relationship usually ends up in a separation or divorce. For one reason or the other a whole lot of men and women can't live up to the lofty promises made when they exchanged vows at the altar, or the town hall.
Man City have reportedly been sniffing around Liverpool centerback Daniel Agger and, when asked
about this, Brendan Rodgers has gone on record as saying that "every player has a price." But Agger
himself has made his intentions clear by showing up to a Liverpool training session with "YNWA"
(You'll Never Walk Alone) tattooed on his fingers.
Rumours today that Gylfi Sigurdsson has abandoned a move to Liverpool in favour of Managerless
Tottenham.
It was believed that Brendan Rodgers former player at Swansea was in talks with Liverpool with a
view to joining the Merseysiders,
but that deal no appears to have gone sour.
German newspaper Bild claims the managerless North Londoners have lined up an £8million deal for
the 22-year-old Iceland international.
A day after two managers have left their clubs to go to bigger and supposedly better ones, can
we really expect anyone in the game to show loyalty? Or what we'd define as loyalty?
Brendan Rodgers has had a great season at Swansea but when the plaintive Scouse cry was directed
towards him, he was up and out the door.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to have had the chance to come back to Liverpool Football
Club as Manager...I would like to thank all of the staff at the Club for their effort and loyalty.
I said when first approached about coming back as Manager that I would always be of help if I can
at any time and that offer remains the same.
Two e-books worthy of your consideration. And look, we're all busy people, credit crunch and
all, so what can I say they're cheap. Very good, mind. Have a look.
Arthur Rowe a Neglected Spurs Legend Whose Legacy Lives On
Unlike other games where the implications take time to sink in, losing at Wembley has its
particular horrors. As the infernal shuffle towards Wembley Park tube grinds on, there's nowhere to
go. Nothing to do except look at the back of the head of the person who will be in front of you for
the next half an hour (if you're lucky) and absorb the burden of defeat.
The ballot results for the derby were out yesterday. There were 16,000 applications for the
2,600 tickets available to United fans, meaning just one in six applications were successful. There
were a surprising number of Loyalty Pot and Executive members who missed out too.
Last season, a total of 164,000 applications were made for the 55,000 away tickets
available.

MUST have tonight claimed that the green and gold protests will continue this season and will
start with tomorrow's game against Fulham, with the away supposedly joining in.
"At the match tomorrow assuming the Glazers' security don't try to suppress free speech a
significant number of Fulham fans will be taking Green & Gold scarves into the away section,"
said Duncan Drasdo, chief executive of MUST.
The Mutiny announced on Tuesday that head coach Tony Horta has taken a leave of absence and
will be replaced by assistant coach Chris Legates.
According to a statement issued by the team, Horta has decided to leave for "personal reasons."
He guided the club from 2007-09 (25-11-3 overall) before returning to the team prior to the 2012

The Good FC Nurnberg signed Timothy Chandler to a two-year extension. The deal has him all signed
