Opportunities in the Club Tijuana starting lineup have been scarce during the Apertura season for American midfielder Joe Corona, but he may have given himself a good chance to feature more in the final four weeks of the season with his performance on Sunday.

In a friendly match against Santos Laguna at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas, Corona scored Xolos' only goal in the 43rd minute, finishing on a first-time volley off a header by Diego Olsina that failed to reach the target.
