In his last three international appearances for Korea Chu Young Park has scored six times, but he
still struggles to even get a place on the bench at Arsenal. Is now the time to unleash him on the
Premier League? Yesterday he helped himself to two goals in the second half against Poland, two
goals [.
When Raddy Avramovic announced his squad to play Hong Kong in a friendly there were the usual
whines in Singapore. Not Duric. Not again. He's too old. Why, they whined, do we have to rely on a
42 year old foreigner?
Why indeed.
Singapore defeated Hong Kong 2-0 yesterday and both goals were scored by that old man, Duric.
Everton have completed the signing of Irish international midfielder Darron Gibson from
Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old Derry born international joins on a four-and-a-half year deal and will wear the
number 4 shirt.
Gibson, whose last appearance for United came in a 5-0 win over Wigan on Boxing Day, will arrive at
Finch Farm immediately and could make his debut when the Blues take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on

As you have seen, U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced a 22-player travel squad that will
gather in Mexico City for the first friendly meeting between the teams on Mexican soil since 1984.
There are plenty of notes in the roster announcement, so here's a few more to add to the mix:
Landon Donovan is the leading capwinner on the roster with 143 international appearances.
News broke late Monday on the official Everton website that 32-year-old Blues ace Tim Cahill

personal terms and passing a team physical.
The Red Bulls have yet to confirm the reports, releasing a statement that they have "no comment

Kenny Miller is a big risk but could be a big "get" for Vancouver. (Getty Images)
Many wondered last week why the Vancouver Whitecaps would be quick to trade away forward
Sebastien Le Toux. It turns out they had an even bigger deal set in motion that required such a
trade.
The Whitecaps announced the signing of of Scottish international striker Kenny Miller as the
club's newest Designated Player.
With the signing of Olivier Giroud, Arsenal can now claim to have three of the top international

around the long-term future of Robin van Persie.
Some of the back-room workings between Jack Warner and FIFA are starting to come to the
surface.
Warner reportedly claimed that in exchange for drumming up support to get Sepp Blatter elected
in the 1998 FIFA presidential election, he secured the television rights to the World Cup for his
native Trinidad & Tobago for a single dollar.
For such a high-priced signing, a lot of us didn't know a whole lot about Bryan Ruiz.
Unfortunately, I haven't found many good information sources for the Dutch Eredivisie, but Ruiz
does have a handful of Champions League and international appearances that I can pull shooting data
from. A few things I was able to find:
Has a 60-40 preference toward his left foot, but seems competent with both.
The loss of life in the sports world always runs deep within the game, and to lose a player like
Gary Speed saw shockwaves sent throughout soccer on Sunday.
The Wales manager was discovered at his home Sunday morning with the news spreading to every
corner of the Britain within the hour that he had taken his own life.
Japan cemented their position as World Champions last night
when they defeated the Selecao feminina (Brazil) 4-1 at the Kobe Stadium.
Que aconteceu, irmĂŁs? (what happened, sisters?) Granted, it was
only an exhibition match to commemorate the Kirin Challenge's Cup and everybody
knows how the Japanese love inviting friendly teams under the pretext of
winning a "grand" trophy.
Former Argentine international Hugo Gatti has launched a scathing attack on Barcelona's Lionel

1977 sought to bring Lionel Messi [.
While the players take a break from club duty for the midweek international friendlies, there's a
lot going on with the U.S. players in Europe. Here's a quick rundown:
Jozy Altidore and Steve Cherundolo are still alive in the Europa League, each reaching the
Round of 32 that begins March 8, with AZ taking on Udinese and Hannover traveling to Standard

Good time Gregg: Gregg Berhalter, seen here celebrating a Galaxy goal with David Beckham and
Todd Dunivant, has played a major role on and off the field in the Galaxy's exemplary defensive

The Philly Soccer Page " The Union, Jorge Gonzalez and Jean Alexandre...
Seriously. Let's maintain perspective here. We have the luxury of complaining about only drawing

It's been an up and down first season at Liverpool for England young gun Jonjo Shelvey, having
juggled a big move away from home, captaining his country and trying to establish himself at a new
club.
That's no mean feat for someone who only just turned 19 earlier this year and it's been a whirlwind
12 months for the Romford-born midfielder.
