When FC Dallas hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night at FC Dallas Stadium, it won't
exactly be their first taste of facing the second-year member of Major League Soccer. After all,
FCD has faced the Whitecaps twice already in 2012, falling 1-0 at BC Place back earlier in the
season. But Dallas did exact a bit of revenge in the last meeting, blanking Vancouver 2-0 to split
their two trips at BC Place for the year.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Toronto FC head coach Paul Mariner needed just one game to put an end to
the Reds five year history of ineptitude at Gillette Stadium.
Mariner, who got his first taste of coaching in MLS as an assistant with the New England
Revolution from 2004-09, led Toronto to a 1-0 road win over the Revs in Foxboro on Saturday night,
putting an end to TFC's six game winless run (0-4-2) in New England, dating back to the club
joining MLS in 2007.
USA international striker Juan Agudelo was left in awe after his trial experience with
Liverpool.
The 19-year-old New York Red Bulls striker already has 15-caps to his name for Jürgen Klinsmann's
national team, but got his first taste of European football during brief spells with Stuttgart and
the Reds in recent weeks.
It's with great pleasure that I unveil the first step in the next evolution of The Bent Musket.
In the next month SB Nation will be undergoing a dramatic upgrade to our platform and our editorial
process. There will be much more detail to come but for now, the new logo below is just a first
taste of what is coming for The Bent Musket.

The entire network is undergoing changes. Most of these are happening in two parts. The first
will be a set of unified logos. This will help SB Nation become a more unified set of blogs,
portals, regional sites and straight up news.
It does not mean that the old logo was bad. Honestly sum anon did a damn fine job.
It's been an exciting past few months for those of us who write for SB Nation as we've been
keeping quite a big secret under our hats. It shouldn't come as a surprise that our current design
is a bit dated, to say the least, and as of today we can officially unveil that this tired old
design won't be around for too much longer.
It's with great pleasure that I unveil the first step in the next evolution of Dynamo Theory.
We've of course added our new co-managing editor Stephen Eastepp, but there's more coming! SB
Nation is on the verge of something very cool and since we here at DT are part of SB Nation, we're
going to be a part of the coming transition.

This is a small, but important sample of what is coming when our network undergoes its most
exciting and radical transformation in the eight-year history of the company.
Five months after they fought in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals, Toronto FC and Santos
Laguna meet again in the regional tournament, this time in the group stage when the two duel at BMO
Field (8 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel).Â
Considering it is just the second of four Group 1 games, it's a bit premature to call this a
true "must-win" game for TFC; however, when taking into account how dominant both of these teams
were against the third team in the group, Salvadoran side Aguila, and how dominant Santos Laguna
can be at Estadio Corona, the Reds need to come up with three points to feel secure in their
chances of winning the group and advancing to the knockout stage.
Never forget. With a coaching staff and a number of players far from home, it's
always a nice touch to get everyone together for a bonding holiday meal. When Toronto FC sat down
for their holiday supper, it was the first taste of a North American Thanksgiving for many of The
Reds. The club no doubt wanted a special day for all involved but just like any family gathering, a
few things went awry.
Under cool grey skies, the first group of players were on the field this morning at the training
site for the Cruz Azul academy. Nestled in a quiet corner of a neighborhood in the city, a plush
green pitch awaited the 10 players who put in an hour's worth of work to get the travel out of
their legs. After a long warm-up, they played 7 v.
Timothy Chandler will get his first taste of the Franken-derby when Nurnberg host neighboring Furth
while Jermaine Jones and Schalke make the short drive to take on the red-hot Foals.
Liverpool have announced that Fabio Borini will be turning out at Anfield next season, with the
striker having completed a move from Serie A outfit Roma.
The Italy international has passed a medical and signed a long-term contract.
His arrival on Merseyside makes him Brendan Rodgers' first signing since taking the Reds'
managerial reins.
Chaos in Group A as the turnaround happened with the unfancied sides after the first group match
go through at the expense of the teams that were pretty much the public favourite to advance after
the said group matches. It provided all the drama and continued to make this a rather entertaining
tournament.
Hello to all and welcome. Not a great day so far? Well, let's try to cheer you up shall we. Jack
Wilshere has completed his minor procedure surgery in Sweden and will now return to Arsenal to
continue his rehabilitation. It's good that he has completed that and even tweeted a picture about
it.

Charlie Adam claims Liverpool have yet to play to their true potential this season, but hopes they
will scale those heights against Manchester United.
Kenny Dalglish's side have made a steady start to the 2011/12 campaign and headed into the
international break on the back of a morale-boosting derby victory over Everton.

the Liverpool vs Bolton game over the weekend, Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates has finished all
the negotiations and paper work for his move from Nacional.
The player brings some great youthful vigor to the center of the back line and will slot in with
Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger as the top four choices for the Reds central
defense.
Canada continues their centennial celebrations with a friendly match against the United States.
The match will take place at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada on June 3, 2012 with kickoff is scheduled
for 7 PM USA Eastern.

"Canada is always a team that can score a goal out of nothing, let's say with a set play or with
a counter-break.
For U.S. Under-23 winger Joe Gyau, the future is now.
Gyau confirmed on his own Twitter feed that he will be in TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's matchday 18
against Hannover 96 this weekend for the first time. Hoffenheim is dealing with a number of
injuries, and Gyau, who has been playing well for the club's U-23 team, is going to get his first
taste of first-team life in the Bundesliga in what could prove to be a seminal year in the
19-year-old winger's career.
After 16 hours without a goal or assist, Liverpool winger Stewart Downing was dropped for the
Chelsea game last Sunday, which was his first taste of bench duty this season. Liverpool went on to
win at Stamford Bridge, with Craig Bellamy - ostensibly Downing's replacement - having a excellent
game, which doesn't bode well for Downing's first team chances over the next few games.
Dominic Oduro won't be the only member of the Chicago Fire getting his first taste of
international soccer in Wednesday's Ghana-Chile friendly at PPL Park.
Patrick Nyarko has been called in as a late addition to Ghana's roster, marking his first
call-up on the international level.
After getting a positive first taste of international soccer in the recent Olympic team camp in
Duisburg, Tyrone McCargo looks forward to continued involvement with his American teammates.
Reports over the weekend linked Tottenham to their long term target Jan Vertonghen and he had
some complimentary things to say about the club which sparked off another set of media rumours
commenting on a possible summer transfer.
Vertonghen is a Belgian international, currently playing for Ajax and has been mentioned at
times in the press as being a long term successor to Ledley King.
With their franchise's MLS playoff debut approaching, members of the Philadelphia Union are
getting ready what will be, for most of them, their first taste of the MLS postseason.
Of the 27 players on the Union's roster, 15 are 23 years old or younger.
The Bolton manager Owen Coyle revealed today that he was tracking the young Japanese star Ryo
Miyaichi even last season when the Arsenal loanee was getting his first taste of senior football at
Feyenoord last season, and immediately knew that he was a star of the future. He has been proved
right after Miyaichi's impressive [.

At some point today, someone is going to go home disappointed with these two teams level on points
in joint second place, and one point behind leader Bayer Leverkusen.
Steve Cherundolo gets back in the swing of things today in Europa League
As the summer rolls and the Americans abroad continue to kick back into gear, two U.S.
internationals take their first step toward European competition this season with action in the
third round of qualifying for the Europa League.
Vicente del Bosque announced his 23-man Spanish squad heading to the Euro
Championships yesterday and the biggest surprise was the fact that FernandoTorres was picked over the highly-lauded Roberto Soldado!QUE?Del Bosque for all the commandeering respect he demands obviously
factored in Nando's recent Champions League win.
A week after falling 1-0 to San Jose, the rebuilding Revolution will face a stiff challenge in
Saturday's match at Sporting K.C. - the same Sporting K.C. that many are projecting to capture
the Eastern Conference crown. On paper, it's a classic early-season mismatch.
But that doesn't mean the Revolution can't steal a point – or three – from Peter Vermes'
team.
The Portland Timbers were welcomed home to the Rose City by a slight drizzle and some short
field, 9v9 scrimmaging. New signing Franck Songo'o was on display, looking dangerous as a left
midfielder and sporting bright orange shoe laces that could probably be seen from space while
Charles Renken got his first taste of training in Portland.
