As some of you may have seen, Clint Dempsey was featured on FIFA Futbol Mundial. After an exciting
summer where Dempsey won the Bronze Ball at the Confederations Cup, the U.S. midfielder is back
with Fulham in the English Premier League. While the league season is yet to get underway, Fulham
have already started their European campaign.
Fulham kicks off its Europa League campaign against Lithuanian outfit FK Vetra this Thursday. The
Cottagers landed in Vilnius yesterday in preparations for tomorrow's game, which is the first leg
of the 3rd Qualifying Round. The second leg will be played on August 6 at Craven Cottage, with the
winner earning passage into the playoff round.

Fulham kept up their fine form in the Premier League by defeating relegation-threatened Newcastle
United 1-0 at St. James' Park. A first-half goal from Diomansy Kamara was the difference as Fulham
romped to a second consecutive win in the league. The three points kept Fulham in seventh place and
ensured the Cottagers of their best-ever Premier League finish.

Villa.

above).

Clint Dempsey scored twice in the second half of Fulham's 3-1 victory over Manchester City on
Sunday. After going behind before the break, the Cottagers fought back with Dempsey leveling the
score on 50 minutes. Dickson Etuhu's well taken strike gave Fulham the lead before Dempsey capped
the scoring with a late insurance goal in the 83rd minute.
We mentioned yesterday that DaMarcus Beasley was substituted early in the first half after a
collision that left him with a bruised rib. Well, after a scan, Rangers are revealing that the
injury is nothing more than a bruise - so thankfully no break. It will keep DaMarcus out this
weekend, however, and Rangers haven't set a timetable for his return yet.
Clint Dempsey and Fulham impressively dispatched Manchester United at Craven Cottage yesterday, a
great result for the Cottagers and their supporters.br /a
