Shaky win to start WCQ

The Footie Fool at related • 0 views

Yeah, well, my Masters thesis is finished, just in time for another WCQ cycle, so I now have time to do some blogging (as if anyone is still listening to my mindless blather after 2 years of silence).

Well, so we got 3 points tonight against St. Lucia so I guess I should feel happy about that.

With a couple of upcoming Friendlies (Macedonia on Nov 14 & Poland on Nov 18), and with a break in my Masters happening right now (oh, how convenient), I finally have chance to to write a proper blog post that isn't a summary of my Twitter stories.

Yeah a lot has happened lately. First Begovic, then Jacob Lensky (and thank you, Stephen Hart, for publicly expressing your disappointment).

Once again, we have been royal screwed by CONCACAF officiating. FFwd 2 minutes in and see how Honduras won the game.

Not even a questionable call.

Unfrigginbelievable.

The Quarter Finals

I don't have much more to say at this point other than expect my posts to trickle and be sporadic for awhile. This week I began a 2 year Masters program and with a fulltime job, a 5 year old and 2 year old...well. Needless to say something has got to give and it's looking like the Footie Fool is it right now.

Sportsnet to broadcast Canada Honduras Gold Cup quarterfinal on all channels

Good news for us basic cable types. We won't have to resort to watching the Canada Honduras quarterfinal Gold Cup game on our 10 inch netbooks. Sportsnet says they will be carrying the game live on all Sportsnet channels for us to enjoy in all its full screen glory.

Rogers Sportsnet will broadcast Canada's quarter-final match this Saturday, July 18 from the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Maybe they were sitting out for something other than Yellow cards?

A Sportnset story today about the injury situation among MNT players ahead of Saturday's quarter-final Gold Cup draw against Honduras has me feeling a bit on edge.

"Yes we do (have a lot of injuries)," (Stephen) Hart told Sportsnet.ca on Tuesday. "I am going to have to wait on the medical staff.

“I have no intention on playing for Bosnia” - Asmir Begovic

Portsmouth keeper Asmir Begovic was on Full-Time on The Team 1040 last night to state pretty unequivocally that, while he was approached by Bosnia, Canada is where his future lies.

"I'm happy to stay with Canada, that's where I see my future... I've been approached by Bosnia. There were talks.
