Carles Puyol pulled off an incredible double roulette during Barcelona's 1-1 Copa Del Rey 1st leg
draw with Valencia in a move which mimicked French legend Zinedine Zidane Classy stuff from the
Barca centre-back who put in a superb display for Pep Guardiola's men. It was one of them 'did I

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona were winners yesterday to ensure that their is no let up in the
La Liga title race. However, despite the win, things are not looking too rosy for Madrid Coach Jose
Mourinho.
Madrid fans were heard jeering Mourinho despite his side's 4-1 over Athletic Bilbao.

Lionel Messi took home the coveted FIFA Ballon d'Or trophy Monday evening, staving off tough
competition from Barcelona teammate, Xavi Hernandez, and Real Madrid rival, Cristiano Ronaldo (who
was a no-show since his squad is set to do battle with Malaga in the Copa Del Ray today).

As if Lionel Messi needed any more evidence to prove that he is greatest player in the
world.
Messi captured the Ballon d'Or for the third consecutive year, beating out Cristiano Ronaldo and
Xavi to add yet another item to his trophy case. The 24-year-old Barcelona maestro received
47.

A gaggle of footballing legends turned out for the UN's ninth annual 'Match against Poverty'
last night, which saw a squad of 30-odd luminaries such as Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo (who are both
UN Goodwill Ambassadors), Didier Drogba, Fernando Couto, Luis Figo, Edgar Davids, Pavel Nedved and
Fabio Cannavaro take on a Hamburg SV All-Stars side in front of a 24,000-strong crowd in
Germany.
French great Zinedine Zidane and Brazilian icon Ronaldo put on their annual Match Against
Poverty event Tuesday, taking on a team of Hamburg SV All-Stars in Germany, and the legend-laden
squad did not disappoint.
Ronaldo scored as part of his team's 5-4 victory, with proceeds from the event going toward
combating poverty in the Horn of Africa.

The best part about holiday shopping is the amount of discounts you can find. It is very
important to go around the market before buying something because you never know, you might find it
for cheaper elsewhere.
Keeping that in mind, I looked around for quality presents with good discounts and picked, what
I thought, were really good bargains.

Presenting, the ten best goals (that I could find corresponding videos for) scored during the El
Clasico fixture since the dawn of time. To be perfectly honest, they're just ten fine goals the
order is more or less superfluous.

Am 13. Dezember um 19:05 Uhr steigt in Hamburg ein wahres Schmankerl, wie man in Südbayern dazu
sagen würde. Etliche Fussballer, die in den letzten 10 bis 20 Jahre die großen Stars im

The wait is over and the four groups have been unveiled for this coming summer's Euro 2012 event
in Poland and Ukraine.
Friday's draw, hosted by the latter nation, saw Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal placed together
with joint-favorites Germany and Netherlands in Group B, which has emerged as the clear 'group of
death'.
The draw for the 2012 UEFA European Championship, to be held in Poland and Ukraine from 8th June
– 1st July next year, has been made in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv this evening. Sixteen
nations will contest this competition for the last time before the next tournament, to be held in
France in 2016, will see an increase in the number of finals entrants to 24.

Paris St. Germain defender Sylvain Armand has become the first player to publicly voice concerns
about the potential arrival of David Beckham in the French capital after claiming that the Los
Angeles Galaxy star adds little value on the field.
Armand, 31, has spent seven seasons with PSG and only recently has he been able to enjoy
training with a strong squad, which is currently built around Argentine sensation Javier
Pastore.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has expressed hope that the underachieving England squad performs
well in next summer's Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, despite knowing that the level of
competition will be extremely high.
Wenger understandably considers Germany and Netherlands as the greatest threats to defending
champions Spain but after watching the Three Lions defeat the Spaniards 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday,
the Frenchman refuses to rule out the prospect of an English triumph.

The Union has become well-known for its innovative use of social networking tools. The latest
bit of cleverness is this: when their Facebook page gets 92,012 likes, they will unveil the new

writing, there are only 6,500 'likes' to go.
Typically I restrict myself to talking about wet, hot America soccer but if there is a player with
no North American angle that I can make an exception for it is Zidane. Have you seen the Zizou
shirts from 3NIL? So necessary. I'm going to cop one in hopes that it will make me look worldly.

Liverpool FC midfield legend Graeme Souness believes that F.C. Barcelona's Lionel Messi is the
greatest footballer in the history of the beautiful game.
In a quite staggering claim, Souness argued that Messi was an even better player than Diego
Maradona:
"They [Barcelona] have got some great players but for me, Messi is the best player who's ever
played football – and I've played against Maradonna many times.
David Beckham's legacy is already tainted. Tainted because he will forever be remembered as the
man who dated a Spice Girl as much as he would for his starring role in the final minutes of the
1999 Champions League final. Tainted because he will forever be recognised as an Armani poster-boy
as much as he would for his last-gasp free-kick against Greece which helped propel England to the
World Cup Finals in 2001.

So Inter-lull is a fun time isn't it? No Arsenal matches to moan about, no news from Arsenal
from two weeks for fans world-wide to digest and and create stories of illusion around, and the
long-awaited injury list to pile up even more. It's a great time to shut off from Arsenal and spend
time with family, as we all love to do right?
They are two of the games great executioners. Their preferred methods of delivering the coup de
grace could hardly be more different, but they share the same efficient outcome. Back in 1998 it
was Fabio Capello's Milan who were on the receiving end of a cold-blooded calcio killing. If you
want a masterclass in the respective abilities of Alessandro Del Piero and Filippo Inzaghi you
need.
Former French international and one of the games greats Zinedine Zidane is considering the
option of returning to the French national team as a coach. Zidane who retired from the side after
he infamously head butted Marco Materazzi during the 2006 world cup finals, made the statement
when questioned by Le Parisien.
Arsene Wenger faces a battle with Real Madrid next summer over the capture of teenage Lille
forward Eden Hazard.
That's the claim in the Mirror this morning which says Madrid director of football Zinedine
Zidane has also put Hazard at the top of his hit-list
As for tonight's CL game against Olympiakos at the Ems, we will now be missing Laurent
Koscielny, Theo Walcott and Gervinho so Alex Song will partner Per Mertesacker in central

Liverpool FC has lost out on many great players over the years, but the most regrettable missed
opportunity is arguably Danish maestro Michael Laudrup. The club had two chances to sign this
footballing magician (1983 and 1989) but failed on both occasions. Why did the club miss out and
what impact would Laudrup (theoretically) have had?
The Danish Superliga, wonderfully noncompetitive though it may be, is not quite the Champions
League final. That said, Soren Berg's goal itself is no less spectacular than Zizou's swinging peg
against Leverkusen some years back.
Though it doesn't have quite the same grace. That Zizou was something else.
