Arsene Wenger did his usual Carling Cup thing against Manchester City on Wednesday night,
resting most of his first teamers and giving some youngsters a bit of action. Roberto Mancini
rested Joe Hart, Mario Balotelli and a couple of other City megastars, but with the squad the
Italian has assembled, even a (partly) second-string side is full to the brim with expensive
internationals.

tonight at the Emirates. It might just be me, but there is something special going to a match at

Arsenal new boy Mikel Arteta is a quality signing judging by the impression he made on the young
Gunners he trained with this morning. Arsene Wenger splashed out £10million for the Spanish
midfielder from Everton as the transfer window closed on deadline day on a four-year deal. The
purchase of the player was seen as a direct replacement for Cesc Farbregas.
Jack Wilshere reckons Arsenal must win a trophy this season to prove they are the next best
thing to Champions League winners Barcelona. Gunners midfielder reckons it is "unthinkable" that
Arsene Wenger's outfit don't finish in the Premier League top four despite a torrid start to the

Arsenal are on the verge of signing South Korean forward Park Chu-Young.
Gunners officials have confirmed to BBC Sport, that the club will be paying £3m to AS Monaco
for the 26-year old although the figure could eventually rise to £5m.
Chu-Young is the captain of the South Korean national team, and is able to play on either wing
and up front.
