Quite rightly, the attention in the aftermath from Anfield on Sunday focused on Luis Suarez and his disgusting behaviour. However, yesterday some disturbing developments came to light involving Yossi Benayoun and it's a disgrace, it really is!.
I am not the biggest Benayoun fan on the planet and of that there is no secret as my mates will tell you based purely on his footballing ability and his value to the Chelsea team.
Yossi Benayoun is featured heavily in the press this morning speaking of his mate Fernando Torres. Benayoun has once again stuck up for his friend after Torres has received recent criticism for his performances and the fact that he has scored just once in his last fifteen appearances.
As confirmed on the Official Chelsea Website, Yossi Benayoun has returned to the club after his loan spell with West Ham expired today. I just wonder with Rafa Benitez in charge, if Yossi has a serious part to play now with Chelsea?
Benayoun featured under Benitez at Liverpool and he knows the player inside out so you would now expect him to be involved.
Sounder at Heart has learned through two secondary sources that Yossi Benayoun has interest in playing in Major League Soccer and that the Seattle Sounders were told of that interest. Benayoun is in the final few months of his loan to West Ham United and full contract with Chelsea. At 32 years old Benayoun meets the concept of a pre-retirement move.
Yossi Benayoun has been linked with a deadline day loan to Liverpool. He was a fan favorite from
his time at Anfield and tipped in with 3 hatricks.
Yossi would be a useful squad player for Liverpool and could be used as an impact sub. Tho
Liverpool are still thought to be chasing more important targets like a new striker.
Roberto Di Matteo, to me anyway, has given the strongest indication that Florent Malouda and
Yossi Benayoun are on their way out of the door as early as the end of the transfer
window.
Speaking today ahead of Reading at the Bridge tomorrow night, he was asked about their futures
considering neither of them have been involved in our competitive games so far this season and he
said:
Yossi confirms he's leaving! by KJ The lovable Israeli, Yossi Benayoun has officially announced on
his Twitter that he will be officially leaving Arsenal tomorrow. Here's the official tweet: "My
loan spell with arsenal will be officially over tomorrow..I want to say again a big thanks to the
fans and the club.
Seeing Fernando Torres rejoin the Chelsea squad over in our pre season tour of America has really
hit home to me just how big this season is for him at Chelsea.
We all know that Didier Drogba has left and if anything, we should see a new, fresh and hungry
Fernando Torres wearing Chelsea blue, ready to prove to everyone just how good he can be to lead us
for the next three years at least!

Chelsea thought they had brought the future to Stamford Bridge when they signed Fernando Torres for £50 million from Liverpool in January of 2011. However, it has yet to truly prove the greatest transfer decision of the Roma Abramovich era.
Preview: An off-colour Arsenal will take on an off-colour West Bromwich Albion later today, in what will hopefully add up to something other than an off-colour clash.
Arsenal are without a win in their last four matches now - their last win coming last month at the Emirates, against Montpellier.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has discussed his delight at signing Spain international Santi
Cazorla from Malaga, describing the 27-year old as a versatile player who is comfortable playing
anywhere in the midfield.
In the past, Wenger has been criticized for his lack of interest in buying experienced players
for Arsenal but following the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri last summer, the
Frenchman has revisited his transfer policy.
As we all know, Chelsea have to register 25 players and no more ahead of the new season for the
Premier League and Champions League competitions but we have a problem. At the moment with our new
signings, promotions and returning loan players, we have 31 players in our first team squad.
Remembering that although he is listed as part of our squad, Patrick Van Aanholt has already been
loaned out this season with Vitesse again.
Despite picking up a little trophy which goes by the name of the Champions League, Chelsea owner
Roman Abramovich has been a busy man this summer, splashing serious amounts of cash in an attempt
to match Premier League champions Manchester City.
Chelsea, the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, have announced a 25-man squad for their
2012 USA Pre-season tour. The EPL side will participate in the World Football Challenge which
features clubs from MLS, Mexico, and Europe. They will play the Seattle Sounders, Paris St-Germain,
MLS All-Stars, and wrap up their tour against AC Milan.
Chelsea is bringing a traveling party of 30 players, including John Terry (at least for a part
of the trip), to the United States for its series of preseason games that begins Wednesday against
the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Park. After that, Chelsea will play July 22 against Paris
Saint-Germain at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Waylaying some fears, it appears that Chelsea has brought what amounts to a first team on their
summer friendly tour, which kicks off on Wednesday against the Seattle Sounders. Chelsea will
arrive in Seattle on Saturday, but has not yet formalized an intinerary.
Among the players that will be making the trip are nine players that started in either the UEFA
Champions League title game or semifinal.
Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo took some time to reflect on his team's summer signings ahead
of today's pre-season training opening day, asserting that the new arrivals will only strengthen
the European champions.
The Blues lost experienced trio Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, and Jose Bosingwa this summer but
added future stars such as Marko Marin and Eden Hazard, both of whom the manager has backed to
shine in the Blues uniform.
Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun has tweeted to fans regarding his future, indicating that he
hopes to have a resolution soon. The Israeli international is currently contracted to defending
Champions League winners Chelsea, but spent last season on loan at Arsenal. Now his future remains
uncertain as it surely appears to lie away from Stamford Bridge.
Ten members of the Arsenal first-team have been called up and will be flying out to Ukraine and
Poland to represent their respective countries in this summer's European Championships. Euro 2012
kicks off in just under two weeks time when Greece take on co-hosts Poland in Warsaw on June
8th.
We all knew what's required of this break between seasons. For us fans to take a break and
recharge our batteries in the same way as the players/coaches. Perhaps not from a physically tiring
state like the players but definitely from the mentally sapping campaign that we just went
through.

Having watched a video of some spuds struggling to find a highlight to their ‘best ever team'
season, I started to ponder which were the highlights of my Arsenal season. As I went back through
the games, I realised that, even though this was a big dipper of a ride, with lurching troughs and
exultant peaks, there were so many truly memorable moments this season I could have chosen.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits that the somewhat excessive five minutes of added time at the
end of yesterday's 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion were tremendously stressful and that he is
considering the possibility of suing referee Mike Jones.
Wenger was thrilled that his side managed to end the turbulent 2011-12 season on a high note
despite a lot of drama unfolding on the final day itself.
The season ended last night. We achieved what we set out to do at the start of the day. That is
to secure the third place and get ourselves into that Champions League pot next season. Though we
didn't quite do it in the fashion that we preferred but we merely added to the drama that has been
the final day of the Premier League season.
The MLS All Stars seem to have Chelsea's number and just like he did six years ago, Dwayne De
Rosario proved to be a pivotal player in this years win too. The DC United midfielder set up Chris
Pontius for the equalizer.
Before that two Chelsea veterans had sent their side ahead as John Terry scored from a header
and then Frank Lampard batted the ball with his leg past Dan Kennedy after the goalie completely
missed collecting a cross.
Alot is being made of Chelsea's transfer dealings so far this summer and of course people have
their own opinions. For me, it's really exciting and indicates a complete change of philosophy
within the club.
I have posted on here before about how exciting it is and have also posted about the
"second coming of Roman's revolution of Chelsea" and I stand by both posts.
Tonight, Chelsea have their first pre season outing against the Seattle Sounders and it's a game we
are all looking forward to.
As we know we have a pretty broken up group at the moment with Juan Mata being in London with the
Spanish Olympic team, Ryan Bertrand with the GB Team, JT being allowed extended time off due to his
Euro2012 involvement, his court case commitments, Rual Meireles and Florent Malouda because of
Euro2012 and Fernando Torres because of the same, so the group isn't complete as one and won't be
until the Olympics has finished.
UEFA Champions League title holders Chelsea will be hitting the United States soon, and they'll
be bringing their full-strength squad for American fans to see in person.
Chelsea announced the traveling roster for upcoming friendlies against the Seattle Sounders
(July 18th in Seattle), Paris St.
There was a time when seeing the world pre-7am on a Saturday meant a very good Friday night. Now
it's just waking up time and the dog has it sorted, let me tell you. Gets up, goes out the back for
his morning ablutions, and then straight back to his bed where he's now snoring like Jens Lehmann.
No, I don't understand what I mean there either.
There's usually a lot of sizzle and no steak when it comes to offseason football rumours, but
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does have some actual decisions to make concerning the club's roster
for next season. As most fans have probably heard by now, Chelsea has more or less given Wenger an
ultimatum regarding on-loan midfielder Yossi Benayoun.
Arsenal have been informed by Chelsea that they need to make a
swift decision over whether they want to sign Yossi Benayoun on a permanent deal
or not. (The Daily Mail)
Benayoun, who spent the 2011/12 season on loan at Arsenal, impressed during his time in North
London and scored six goals in 25 matches.
With the transfer window open for eight days things seemed to have settled down at Stamford Bridge after Demba Ba signed for the club and made his goalscoring debut against Southampton. Let's also not forget that Yossi Benayoun made his return to the club from his loan at West Ham.
We all know that Rafa Benitez had confirmed that there were a couple of positions that he felt needed to be strengthened with the squad so expect maybe one or two more signings before the window closes at the end of the month.
It was another wild deadline day across Europe but two Premiership clubs made some of the
biggest splashes in the transfer market and they did so with some late signings.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City both made some last-minute acquisitions on hectic Friday
that not only surprised many, but also helped bolster their already-loaded rosters for the
Premiership campaign.
