The Wizards 2009 season on the field wasn't that great, but off the field, the team has had a good offseason. The Wizards had 4 goals up for Goal of the Year, and 2 of those goals have made it to the final 10, one from each Davy Arnaud and Claudio Lopez. Wizards captain, Jimmy Conrad has been named Co-MLS Humanitarian of the Year along with Chicago Fire midfielder Logan Pause. Conrad had won the award for his work being a spokesperson for Athletes Against Autism and the Child Protection Center. He's also helped with the UN's Nothing but Nets campaign. The Wizards have handed out their year end awards, and it's now time for me to hand out my end of the year awards to Wizards players. I'm going to hand out the same awards I did last year, I'm also adding a Performance of the Year award to the best single game performance by a player this season.

Yeah I'm almost a week behind on this, but was thinking the team may actually announce more winners than just MVP, Golden Boot and Humanitarian of the Year. Anyways, this year, the award winners consisted of 2 players, Josh Wolff and Jimmy Conrad.
