If you' re any sort of women's soccer fan, you know about Alex Morgan.
The 22-year-old wunderkind, known as the "super sub" during the Women's World Cup last summer
and in the recent CONCACAF Olympic qualifying matches, has a nose for the goal. The former Cal
soccer star has also been noted for her amazing mix of strength and beauty which makes her the
epitome of Pretty Tough.
Philadelphia Union
The big news of the day is that Jimmy McLaughlin is the Philadelphia Union's second homegrown
signing. Ed has all the details here. McLaughlin said he has spoken to Zach Pfeffer about turning
pro. ""It's a business and you're playing for a spot every day.
And so the conjecture continues. No, no, not speculative tittle-tattle focused on which new
wunderkind recruits are coming to the Arsenal in the January transfer window, I am talking about
where we will tour next summer. Granted, it is still supposition but anything to turn our
attentions from the endless stories linking us with the world and his wife (as well as those poor
unfortunates heading for the Emirates exit).

Bayern signing Jupp Heynckes was the best thing to happen to Toni Kroos. The
prototypical wunderkind to come out of Germany's reformed youth system, needed Heynckes to pop up
at Leverkusen, to finally play his long awaited breakthrough season in the Bundesliga. Now that the
two are reunited at Bayern, he could well establish himself at the top of German football, both at
Bayern and the German national team.

Let's start with the Neymar goal.
Love him or loathe him the boy's definitely got skills. The Brazilian wunderkind's latest wonder
goal against Flamengo last night was pretty damn swish in fact, the little shimmy on the edge of
the Flamengo box has already been christened 'the Neymar slalom'.

Their names may well have featured in just about every spurious transfer gossip column that has
been farted forth over the past year or so, but two of Europe's most coveted strikers appear to be
verging on moves to these fair shores.
Despite Carlos Tevez currently staring down the barrel of a further sulky six months at
Eastlands, Man City are pressing ahead with their attempts to snare fellow Argentinian Sergio
Aguero from Atletico Madrid with negotiations said to be 'ongoing' between the two parties over
triggering Kun's £39 million release clause.
The boy's dream is to play for Chelsea. I reckon Roman is close to making that dream a
reality.
Installing a manager remains at the forefront of summer business. That has done little to deter
the rumor mill from churning, however, with an ungodly amount of talent some elite, some not being
linked with a move to Stamford Bridge already this offseason.
It's been an interesting couple of days for football, at least in Europe. Liverpool and Man City
have both succefully played listless games at home and ended their 'who the heck cares'
Thursday-night football misery. Well, City were not so listless but a brainless moment from
'wunderkind' Balotelli was enough to ensure that the tie ended right there for them.

Liverpool wunderkind Raheem Sterling racked up an impressive tally of five goals in Monday's 9-0
FA Youth Cup rout of Southend and, by way of reward for his progress at the Kirkby academy, looks
nailed-on to be named amongst the substitutes for the first-string's Europa League tie with Sparta
Prague this evening after earning himself a spot on the flight out to the Czech Republic.
John Nyen is a frequent contributor at TSG. He's a USMNT fan as well as a Liverpool fan...and
still proud.
Ah, I can see the corrugated etching on the Ballon d'Or award.
USMNT material, yes!...?
The White Whale, the Golden Idol, the Impossible Dream..... this is something that all fans of
the US Mens National Team think about, a forward with the talent of Messi or Ronaldo who is
American and plays for the USA.
