Tottenham have slapped an astonishing £150million price tag on coveted winger and current PFA
Player of The Year Gareth Bale in a bid to ward off suitors. So any attempt to nick Bale from White
Hart Lane will, in total, smash the current £80million world-record transfer Real Madrid paid to
secure the services of former [.
With a remarkable strike from Robin van Persie, we're back in the top four, at least for the
moment. It was a deserved victory, as we dominated the chances and could have won by a few more.
The win gives us 29 points from 15 played, and puts us one ahead of Chelsea, who host Man City on
Monday.

Former U.S. men's national team head coach Bob Bradley made his managerial debut for Egypt on
Monday, and the result was not a good one.
Brazil spoiled Bradley's first game in charge of the Pharoahs, winning 2-0 in a friendly played
in Doha, Qatar.
An Ode to Ole - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, also known as the baby-faced assassin, is one of the ultimate legends in
Manchester United folklore. He was snapped up from Molde in 1996, the club he now manages, for a
bargain basement purchase of just £1.5 million.
We continue our new series on the Free Beer Movement. It's called "Brews and Views" and we pose a
question or topic to various prominent soccer persons and, well, they give us their view on it.
We've got loads of get people that have already responded to our call for essay submissions and
each week we'll feature a unique perspective on the current topic/question at hand.
You may recall that a month or so ago we shared a video of what was generally believed to be the
longest headed goal in the history of football. Jonas Samuelson had scored this header from his own
half in a Norwegian league match, leading to a well-deserved fifteen minutes of fame.
Well, he must be livid.
This 58.6 metre headed goal from Fagiano Okayama's Ryujiro Ueda is a world record for a headed
goal, but surely Yokahama FC's keeper must be the worlds worst keeper after this gaff, incidently
it was the only goal of the game.

You may remember us telling you all about Odd Grenland midfielder Jone Samuelson a month or so
ago, i.e, the Nordic chap that headed home from his own half to set the world record at 57.3 metres
well forget that chump!
The world of steel-necked goalscorers has a new hero, namely Fagiano Okayama (of the J League)
defender Ryujiro Ueda who notched the only goal of ther game with his bonce from a mammoth 58.
Veteran midfielder heads for the record books It looks as though the world record for the fastest
goal has been broken. Almost a month ago. And nobody noticed. That's because the goal was scored by
35-year-old Michail Osinov. He fired in from kick-off after 2.68 secs for Mitos against Olympia
Gelendzhik in the Russian Second [.

Well, didn't this just get interesting?
For those of you who weren't attempting to break the world record for nacho consumption during
a football match, some 'confusion' took place on the bench during Manchester City's 2-0 defeat to
Bayern Munich last night.
Like most fans, and quite probably Arsene Wenger himself, I wanted to see decisive action from
the Gunners in the transfer market. Sort out the situation with those who want to leave, sign
replacements in time, have a good pre-season, and start the season with confidence and stability. I
will be surprised if anyone, irrespective of their feelings towards the manager or the board,
disagrees with that.
Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o has signed a world record breaking £345,000 per week deal at
Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. The former Inter Milan striker was signed by the Russian side this
week in a £22 million transfer, but his wages alone will set them back much more.
According to The Sun, Eto'o's pay packet leaves him earning £345,000 per week
after taxes, which is a staggering amount for a 30 year old, and makes him the highest
earning footballer in the world.
Here are some scattered business thoughts on the MLS All Star Hub and other items from Major
League Soccer's descent on New York. The Hub itself is set in a swanky SoHo building decorated
with a clubby feel. Most of the league sponsors are represented through various themed booths
in the Hub that offer an array of interactive events.
Liverpool has provided a graphic insight into their mounting frustrations with the local council
bureaucracy which they believe is destroying their hopes of staying at their Anfield home.
After the club's principal owner, John W Henry, hinted at suspicions over the transparency of
Manchester City's £400m sponsorship deal with Etihad, Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre
yesterday publicly lamented the "barriers to our ambition" being created by a host of logistical
planning issues relating to a refurbished Anfield and admitted that a departure to a new
purpose-built stadium in nearby Stanley Park – which is dependent on Liverpool securing a naming
rights deal of their own – is now the most likely outcome.
Manchester United are to open talks with Nike over a world record new kit deal worth an astonishing
£400million. In real terms though the actual increase is from the annual current value of £23.5
million, to £40 million a year with the new deal also projected to cover 10 years.
According to the News of the World, United are in discussion with Nike over a world record £400
million kit deal. Nike currently pay United £23.5m per year, and with their existing 10-year deal
expiring in 2015, it makes sense to open discussions now on a new deal.
When United moved from Umbro to Nike in 2002, their new deal with Nike set the standard for kit
deals in football.

According to Marca, Real Madrid will announce record club income and profits next week.
Real Madrid is expected to report income of over 442 million euros for last season, which is a
world record for a football club. Those record revenues translated into a pre-tax profit of around
30 million euros, which will be a record for the Spanish top club.

Lots of rumors in the Spanish and British press about a bust-up between Cristiano Ronaldo and
Jose Mourinho and that Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for their best player.
At the heart of the story is the fact that Ronaldo was not happy with Mourinho's tactics in the
first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

important to note that there have been some developments in women's soccer in the last two
