With the Zambian players and coaching staff still celebrating their surprise African Cup of
Nations victory in a hugely dramatic penalty shoot-out in Libreville, Wayne Rooney decided to
provide us all with a fine example of the unsporting, unpleasant and ungracious.
Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has revealed who he thinks the best player in the
world is and it's not a former United great. While many Manchester United fans still name Cristiano
Ronaldo as the best and most complete player in the world, Charlton has hailed the qualities of
Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"F**king kick him, you ponce" Peter Reid, bringing the beautiful game to the
India
Trying to break the massive, all-conquering hold cricket has on India ain't gonna be easy, but
the organisers of the new Indian Premier League Soccer tournament are doing their best to get the
locals interested by getting a number of ex-greats involved.
Last year the Indian Football Association announced it would be launching Premier League Soccer
in early 2012, with six franchises. The franchises are located in Kolkata, Howrah, Asansol,
Midnapore, and Siliguri. When the league was announced, IFA also stated that each team would have
one icon player and a maximum of three overseas players and one overseas player from Asia.
Unlikely transfer for Brazil great As retirement homes for formerly great footballers go, Angola is
probably a new one. But having already attempted the ex-Soviet state and return to South America
routes, Brazilian World Cup winner Rivaldo is blazing a new trail. He's signed for Angolan side
Kabuscorp.
Brazilian World Cup winner and former AC Milan and FC Barcelona star Rivaldo could soon be
playing his football in the African plains with top flight Angolan club Kabuscorp.
Rivaldo who was until last month a Sao Paulo player will become the first international star
player to ever play in an African league.

Sawa potentially begins her Ballon d'Or reign as Messi continues his own, picking up his third
in as many years.
If history is anything to go by, expect 2011 Women's World Cup winner Homare Sawa to be
collecting her second Ballon d'Or prize this time next year. Marta had won five years running as
the top female player in the world, but no more.
Japanese World Cup winner Homare Sawa beat out a strong field that included Brazilian Marta and
Abby Wambach to win the FIFA Women's World Player of the year 2011.
Marta who was looking to win the award for a 6th consecutive time had to contend with a second
place finish while Abby Wambach of the USA came in in third place.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has at last re-signed for the Gunners, it has just been announced.
The deal was concluded in time for the Frenchman to be eligible to play in Monday's FA Cup clash
with Leeds although doubts remain about his match fitness.
Henry has left speculators, pundits and critics undecided about the impact this might have on
the Arsenal squad.
The imminent resigning of Arsenal Legend Thierry Daniel Henry has left speculators, pundits and
critics undecided about the impact this might have on the Arsenal squad. It is easy to overlook the
Wenger & Henry combination which has proved to be successful on and off for approximately twenty
years.
2011 has been incredibly hectic in the world of football, and who better to tell you
this than the personalities themselves?! From Zlatan Ibrahimovic's infamous
autobiography outburst to Pele's never ending self-praises (groans all around),
Ronaldo taking a jab back at opposition fans to the rise of women's football in
Japan, there was really no shortage of entertaining quotes this year.
Fernando Torres has slammed critics constantly rip apart his patchy form for Chelsea by
insisting that a European and World Cup winner deserves more respect.
Torres, who moved to the Blues at the beginning of the calendar year, has since scored only
three times in 25 appearances a statistic that has been received particularly well at former club
Liverpool.

After a busy week that saw Cesc Fabregas crumble under the intense pressure of our whining, a

football news.
Barcelona star Daniel Alves believes that the media furore over Gerard Pique's booking against
Rayo Vallecano proves there is an agenda against his club.
Pique has been pillored in the media for collecting a yellow card for time wasting during the
closing stages of their 4-0 win over Rayo, which rules him out of their clash for Levante.
Xabi Alonso has revealed that Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo has still not returned to
training ahead of Saturday's crucial La Liga clash with Sporting Gijon.
Ronaldo picked up an ankle injury following a strong challenge by Luis Perea during last
weekend's ill-tempered derby win over city rivals Atletico Madrid.
Brazil great Pele has labelled compatriot Neymar a far more complete player than Lionel
Messi.
The Barcelona man is almost unanimously regarded as the finest talent in the game today but Pele
is of the opinion that the diminutive Argentine is not as rounded as Santos striker Neymar.
"Making an individual comparison, I think Neymar is much better, more complete: [he] hits well
with both feet, can dribble off either side, and scores goals," the three-time World Cup winner is
quoted as saying by Globoesporte.
The official FIFA website says 925 days to kickoff. This means 925 days of people requesting
Pele's opinion. Opinions on such things as Lionel Messi and football and Lionel Messi and Brazil's
hosting capabilities and Lionel Messi and quantum mechanics and Lionel Messi.
Posed Leo v Neymar (the Brazilian attacker playing at Santos), Pele offered his thoughts.

football team. An uncompromising centre-back who played more than 400 matches for Juventus, Gentile
won almost every major trophy in the game.

Ka-boom!! For all Spurs fans Younes Kaboul's 85th minute winner at the Emirates last season was
a moment to savour. It wasn't the first time the French international had scored a crucial goal in
a big game. Spurs 125th anniversary game had turned into a bit of a nightmare, being 4-1 down to
Aston Villa certainly didn't point to a glorious birthday celebration.

Of the Spanish U-21 squad that attracted much attention for their European Championship victory
this summer, Barcelona's Thiago Alcântara was perhaps the player singled out for most praise. Born

Why Gooners shouldn't harbour hard feelings towards Cesc
At long last it looks like the Cesc Fabragas saga may be over. And who doesn't say amen to that.
It had become a tedious embarrassment to all parties, especially when some in Spain turned it into
an international incident, on a par with demands for the return of Gibraltar.
