Last time we see all 3 on the pitch at the same time?
Haven't written in a while, therefore this will be more of a short summation on things that have
happened in the past week. No place better to start than with the players.
Emmanuel Frimpong will be out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
Ok, ok it's not going that well, although we did receive £10 back on our £30 stake last week
after the lower league football programme was decimated by the snow. Still, with QPR refusing to do
the business at home to Wolves all was lost. This weekend will hopefully see far more football on,
and [..
The Philadelphia Union announced, over Twitter, that along with second year goalkeeper Zac
MacMath, the team has former third stringer Chase Harrison and Chris Konopka, a former New York Red
Bulls goalkeeper, in their Florida training camp.
Union head coach Piotr Nowak has made it clear that he's both comfortable with heading into the
season with Harrison as MacMath's backup and no veteran goalkeeper on the roster.

Spurs played for a scoreless draw, Spurs got their scoreless draw.
While Liverpool's attackers could and should have done more, Tottenham's defending merited the
scoreless draw. King and Dawson were outstanding, with Parker almost as important. After a paucity
of clear cut chances for both sides, each could have scored the winner in the last five minutes,
with Friedel and Reina making huge saves on Bale and Suarez.
Liverpool can't continue their hot streak and end up with their eighth home draw of the
campaign, failing to take advantage of a Spurs side that were lacking in both personnel and intent.
With the success of the past few weeks creating a healthy dose of optimism this one's got to be
chalked up as a disappointment, and worrying in that Liverpool yet again failed to capitalize in a
match that mostly looked like theirs for the taking.

Last time we checked, wearing hair rollers in public was a "Don't" in most sensible ladies'
books.
Well thanks to a recently misinterpreted decree from Vogue, the British press is now
claiming that the baffling, mind-boggling and completely WAG-like trend of wearing hair rollers
whilst out and about is now in fashion.
Not DEEENCH at all:
Frimpong is out for the season after rupturing his ACL in his right knee while at Wolves on
loan. He did the same thing to his left knee two summers ago and was out for over half a
year:
What's the opposite of #DEEENCH?
I haven't seen any video, but everything points to Frimpong getting Frimponged.

Finishing up in little more than an unbuttoned shirt and a cheeky smile at a sub-freezing Loftus
Road, the bloody scamps over at Sky Sports News had Chris Kamara switch around an item of clothing
every time they cut from the Soccer Saturday studio to the QPR-Wolves game.
Kammy's costume change Soccer Saturday reporter Chris Kamara took advantage of the array of winter
wear on display at QPR's match against Wolves at the weekend by wearing a different outfit each
time presenter Jeff Stelling checked in with him. Explaining his prank, Kammy said: "I jokingly
heard him tell one reporter wearing a hat [.

Liverpool are in the midst of a mini-resurgence at the moment; the Carling Cup Final awaits;
hated-rivals Man United were recently dispatched with ease in the FA Cup, and it was back to
winning ways in the premier league against Wolves last week. Things are definitely looking bright,
but the plain fact is Liverpool are still seventh in the league, five points behind fourth placed
Chelsea in.
Be great if he scored!...Liverpool welcome Tottenham to Anfield
Monday night as they look to continue their good run of form and pick up some more points in the
League. With Luis Suarez completing his ban, the Anfield faithful can't wait to see him back on the
pitch, an extra threat for Spurs to be aware of.
Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing's bid to establish himself as a viable replacement for Lucas
Leiva was disrupted recently with a red card and an injury in quick succession recently, but the
homegrown midfielder returned to great effect against Manchester City and Wolves, and according to
Liverpool legend Jan Molby, Spearing is becoming one of the most important players in Kenny
Dalglish's team,

The Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong spent the whole of last season on the sidelines after
damaging his cruciate ligament in pre-season, but he has come back strongly this year and was sent
on loan to Wolves to give him some extended first-team action. But disaster struck yesterday when
he was stretchered off halfway theough the [.
Manchester City moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to a convincing
3-0 win at home over Fulham.
Heading into the Fulham match a lot of questions were being asked about a City side that had
lost four of their eight matches in 2012, exiting the FA and League Cups and seeing Manchester
United draw level with them on points at the top of the Premier League.
With the return of Luis Suarez to the Liverpool on Monday night, having served his mammoth ban from
football, reports are that Manager Kenny Dalglish will opt to unleash the talismatic Uraguyan
striker from the bench.
Monday night's game from Anfield will see Liverpool pit their wits against 3rd-placed Spurs who are
something like 12 points ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Djibril Cisse could never be described as a shrinking violet, so it will come as little surprise
that the former Liverpool man was once again the centre of attention at Loftus Road, albeit for all
the wrong reasons.
February kicks off for Liverpool on Monday, with Spurs set to visit Anfield in the first match
of another important month. Liverpool will look to carry their momentum from the domestic cup
triumphs and a comfortable 3-0 win at Wolves into the match, which hopefully signals a turnaround
from a disappointing league stretch to open 2012 that had seen them winless until the final day of
January.
I 7-1 to be a Blackburn fan? No, it doesn't quite work, does it. One day we'll get to the promised
land of an 8 goal victory, and all the wonderful pun-based jokes this allows. For today, I think 7
will do. My thoughts as follows:
* We started brightly, and scored after only 2 minutes.

By guest writer: Jamie McLaughlin After a very exciting week of cup football...
Against Wolves, Jordan Henderson only misplaced four of his passes from open play for a
completion rate topping 90%. He may not have connected on any of his seven attempted crosses, which
does rather drag down his overall numbers, but it is nonetheless an impressive statistic. As for
how he achieved such a high completion rate, the answer is a fairly simple one: He kept it
simple.
"Changing the manager does not affect the way the players play on the pitch" ... I begin
fittingly with that quote from Wolves captain and £7million summer signing Roger Johnson. This was

How bad was Wolves' 3-0 home loss to Liverpool on Tuesday? Andy Carroll scored the match's
opening goal. That's how bad. It was his first league goal since October. Liverpool scored two more
second half goals to leave Wolves with 18 points from 23 matches and slumped over at 19th in the
table.
Carroll celebrates with Bellamy and Henderson...Liverpool put
three past a lacklustre Wolves side yesterday at a freezing cold Molineux. Andy Carroll got himself
on the score sheet whilst Wolves struggled to find a goalscorer at all. The win moved Liverpool
into 5th in the table.
Wolves had less worries than originally thought injury wise as Frimpong ended up being able to
start in midfield for McCarthy's side.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was left furious when Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto was
allowed to remain on the pitch despite a high tackle that forced forward Franco Di Santo out of the
Latics' 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.
With his side firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, the only positive
Martinez could reflect on was the mild nature of Di Santo's injury.
It's been awhile since I trawled through the Guardian chalkboards for interesting items. I know, we
all missed it.
I remain convinced that Liverpool changed tact in midfield during the interval. The key seemed to
be Spearing, more willing to stay in his own half and shield the defense rather than pressing
higher up the pitch and leaving gaps.
