With Dean Saunders leaving his post as manager of second-place League One side Doncaster Rovers to take over at Wolverhampton mid-season, the search is on for his replacement. Enter brash eight-year-old fan Mac Wilson.
Perhaps emboldened by 35-year-old Andre Villas-Boas recently winning Premier League manager of the month, Wilson emailed an application for the Doncaster job.
Life hasn't been easy for Wolverhampton since getting relegated from the Premier League last season. New manager Staale Solbakken only has the club in 15th place after guiding Cologne to Bundesliga relegation last season (though Frank Schaefer, who replaced him for the final four matches, did finish the job).
Who knew Wolves Wigan would have the best scene of the EPL weekend?
Some bolder than thou Wolves fan sauntered into a March of the Cantaloupes and charged
scores of Wigan fans. Presumably he had a decent reason. Or was reasonably sauced. One of those.
Even better, all the Wigan fans run away.

Being kicked a few times won't stop Sagna from playing
The last time we faced a team in the relegation zone, we lost. This time around, the gap is even
bigger. It was 3rd against 18th then, today it's 3rd against 20th. Wolverhampton Wonderers are the
opponent for tonight and given the form that both teams are in and the position of both clubs, this
should really be nothing other than a win for Arsenal.

Chelsea looks to move up the table, Tottenham can pass Arsenal for 3rd place, and much more in
the English Premier League on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Sunderland v Tottenham
Spurs can move up to 3rd place with a win while Sunderland are comfortably in 9th place.
Tottenham's away form has been decent but Sunderland have 7-4-4 record in home matches.
In life, one thing we can count on is that we all ultimately answer to someone. In the last few
weeks two men who have enjoyed taking the back seat this season have now been thrust into the
footballing spotlight by owners desperate for some sort of reaction. Terry Connor at Wolves and
Roberto Di Matteo at Chelsea have been given free (okay, maybe not is Roberto's case) reign to take
decisions that will make or break their clubs this season.
In today's matches in the Premier League, Manchester United plays away at Tottenham Hotspur, while
the early kick-offs featured the Tyne-Wear derby between Newcastle and Sunderland, and the
mid-morning clash (US time) of Fulham against Wolverhampton...

In hindsight, relegation often seems inevitable. If you had asked the pundits, Blackpool's demotion
to the Championship last year was all but a done deal in August. But do the data agree? And what
can they tell us about the inevitability and predictability of relegation ahead of time, rather
than after the fact?
Wolverhampton Wanderers Sack Manager Mick McCarthy - The 90th Minute Soccer Blog
With Wolverhampton in a tough relegation fight this season, it was no surprise that the club
decided to part ways with manager Mick McCarthy. The club issued the following statement on their
website about the decision.
English Premier League Recap 11 February 2012 - The 90th Minute Soccer Blog
Below are brief recaps for all the EPL matches played on February 11, 2012.
Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool
The Red Devils go top of the EPL table with a brace from Wayne Rooney. Luis Suarez scored a late
goal for Liverpool but it wasn't enough for a comeback.
It may not have been a man of the match-calibre performance, as those honours would have to have
gone to one of the defenders—and probably either Glen Johnson or Martin Skrtel. And he likely
didn't even have as good a game as his previous two against Wolverhampton and Manchester United.
Regardless of that, however, after nearly a full calendar year filled almost entirely by futility
as he struggled first with fitness and then with fitting in, it's understandable that on the back
of three strong showings on the bounce people would be eager to look for any upside they can find
in the 2012 edition of Andy Carroll.
England's lower leagues get the spotlight as Tim Ream's Bolton takes on Wolverhampton, while Zak Whitbread and Leicester City play Brighton and Hove Albion.
Bolton, Blackburn, and Wolverhampton are now Championship clubs, and under England's bizarre league
labels that's not a good thing. All three have been playing in the Premier League long enough not
to want to spend multiple seasons reinventing what brought them success. They want a quick return,
a successful lower division season followed by enough to stay up in 2013-14.

As part of the unedifying spectacles of Manchester United frequently playing with a 12th man,
Anthony Taylor referees this afternoon's game at Wolverhampton.
Mr Taylor is from Manchester.

I've been following along with the Paul Pogba drama for the last several weeks and I was upset
to be losing someone with the potential of Pogba and wondered why Manchester United wouldn't just
pony up the cash to keep him. Â For those that have not been following along, let me give you a
quick recap:
It is believed that Manchester united offered Pogba a contract promising £25,000 per week but
the talks stalled.
The Evening Chronicle is reporting today that Newcastle are interested in Bolton's 23 year-old
midfielder Mark Davies. Mark Davies Bolton central midfielder Mark was born in Wolverhampton and
made his debut back  in August 2005 at age 17 for his home town team, when Glenn Hoddle was the
manager. He moved to Bolton in [.
That's 'goals' plural for Clint Dempsey, who scored twice in Fulham's 5-0 romp over Wolverhampton.
Dempsey wasn't Fulham's top scorer on the afternoon, with Pavel Pogrebnyak putting the home side up
two goals before Dempsey got on the board in the 56th. Pogrebnyak finished off his hat-trick five
minutes later.
Hello... my name is Deuce Montoya. You keel my fadder. Prepare to concede a pair. Yes, ho hum, in
Fulham's weather-stripping 5-0 rout of Wolverhampton, Clint Dempsey scored (yawn) - and then again.
The goal monster now has (best sit down for this one): - 12 EPL goals, matching last year's career
high, and 18 overall- 14 goals in his last 18 games for club and country- Eight during Fulham's
Clint Dempsey looks to mirror his national team performance in Fulham's game against Wolverhampton,
while Brad Friedel and Tottenham host Manchester United.
Ah the glory that is the League Cup (or Capital One Cup, or Carling Cup). What glory it did for Liverpool (and Kenny Daglish) last year. While I highly doubt, and hope not, that Chelsea are aiming to win the cup this year, it does provide one thing that a club like Chelsea can always use; valuable playing time for fringe and younger players.
