The New England Revolution have finally begun the process of solving their issues at forward
this week with the acquisition of Colombian target man Jose "Pepe" Moreno. The 30-year old striker
joins the Revs on loan after a short stop with Once Caldas, where he scored 7 goals and 4 assists
in twenty matches during the second half of 2011.

In the wake of the news that the WPS has been suspended for the 2012 season, former majicJack
and current USWNT striker Ella Masar offers her view of the situation on her blog.
The current (at the time of writing) wikipedia entry for Dan Borislow, the majicJack franchise
owner, should give you a heads up as to where the blame is believed to lie in this little saga.
The new tournament in India had its auction today. A quick refresher for those who allow quirky
short-term tournament formats to slip from the back of their minds (shame): five teams, each team
bids for a leading "icon", along with two foreigners and a manager, with a wage budget of $2.5m.
(How much is being ballparked for the icons 30-40%?
Bloated Premier League squads need ballast and amid the burnt ends of Match of the Day episodes,
the fleeting few minutes of highlights from the KC, Molineux or DW Stadiums have been notable for
their late cameos from players unfamiliar – your Henrik Pedersens, Okelsandr Yevtushoks and
Itzhak Zohars – the men you feel yourself reaching for the Rothman's successor volume to run the
rule over, or, laptop on knees, Wikipedia.
We review two FA Cup 4th Round matches: the meeting of Landon Donovan's Everton and Clint
Dempsey's Fulham, followed by Liverpool versus Manchester United. Plus, of course, the Wikipedia

So yesterday was a day without Wikipedia.
How did we all cope?
Maybe by using the various workarounds that let you bypass Wiki's self-imposed protest blackout. Or
whiling away the hours following STV's #fitbawiki chat on Twitter.
Or you could have gone old school and picked up a book.
Don't normally get all political here (unless it involves public financing of private sporting
ventures), but today some* of you may have noticed the black bar over Google's logo today. Or
Wikipedia going 'dark'.
That's because today is an U.S.-wide initiative to oppose SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, and
its sister legislation, PIPA.
Lots of websites are going 'black' today, Wikipedia for example, to protest against proposed new
laws in the USA which will make everyone have to connect to the internet through AOL with all their
family filters turned on.
I was considering going black to bemoan our transfer policy, general crapness, toilet queues at
the stadium and 'The Wonder of You'.

CorrespondentsWay back in April, in what I'm pretty sure was our first-ever Tuesday XI, we
devised a lineup of superheroes, ready to take the pitch against all-comers. Here now at last,
we've found the comers, an opposition squad ready to give those heroes the fight of their lives, or
at least a game every now and then on Sundays.
We get a good look at Landon Donovan's assist for Everton, then review a fascinating Milan Derby
in which Inter beat Milan despite having half the possession and a 38-year-old right midfielder.
All that, plus a quiz about moustachioed players in the Wikipedia Game.
Robbie Keane is the latest MLSer to eschew a winter siesta for a short term loan overseas. In
case you were wondering, Wikipedia tells us...
Wolves, Coventry City, Inter, Leeds (loan), Leeds (buy), Tottenham, Liverpool, Tottenham,
Celtic, West Ham, LA Galaxy, Aston Villa.
That's not a career that's an intimacy problem.

Athletic Bilbao tonked third-tier side Albacete (bit of trivia: Andres Iniesta is the club's
majority shareholder) 4-0 in the Copa del Rey at the San Mames last night, with the third goal of
the night being scored by forward Gaizka Toquero a man who, to quote Wikipedia, is 'blessed with
few technical skills but is a tremendous hard-worker'.
Interview with Andrew Jean-Baptiste. Another good kid on this roster!
If you ever read this Andrew, all beaches in Oregon are public beaches! No one can deny you from

We review Landon Donovan's performance in Wednesday afternoon's Spurs versus Everton game. How
did Major League Soccer's on-loan attacker match up against the likes of Gareth Bale? Listen in to
find out. We also preview the Milan Derby (sort of) and play a Serie A-themed round of the
Wikipedia Game.
It's January, and in the footballing world January means only one thing. The winter transfer
window, where player names are bandied about as potential new players and the ones we love to hate
are bound and gagged in hopes that someone will take them off our hands.
For the next twenty one days, rumors will abound.
NEW SHOW! We review this morning's fascinating Manchester Derby, Donovan and Dempsey's FA Cup
contributions, break down Oguchi Onyewu's performance for Sporting vs Porto and play some FA Cup

Boxing Day en Inglaterra, futbol despues de navidad
Nada dice feliz navidad como una buena jornada de futbol un día después, esto solamente se da
en Inglaterra en el marco del "boxing day", pero que es el boxing day porque se
celebra?
The Philadelphia Union announced on Wednesday that they have signed Panamanian international
Gabriel "Gavilan" Gomez.
The press release says "the central midfielder will be eligible to join the Union upon receiving
his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate. Per MLS and Club policy, terms of the
agreements were not disclosed.
The recent release of the designs for the new Philadelphia Union home and away kits got me
thinking about the evolution of the kit designs of other teams in Philadelphia soccer history.
Today, the regular release of new jerseys is an important part of the marketing of a professional
team, not to mention a lucrative source of revenue.
125 years! Hell of a long time, so long ago that Spurs title win was in the future and even
Kelsey hadn't been born .
And what a tradition our wonderful club has, what history, and always (apart from Mr. Norris)
a club with honour and class. To those lucky enough to be going today the opportunity to share in
the celebrations is one not to be missed.

With yesterday's announcement that the Union had declined the option to re-sign Stefani
Miglioranzi and Chase Harrison, the eyes of many Philly soccer followers turned to the other
castoffs throughout the league and the possibility that the Union might find a worthy signing in
Monday's Re-Entry Draft.

Can Victoria Beckham makes spats happen? Or will they go the way of "fetch?"
Victoria is in New York, where she spoke at the Women's Wear Daily Apparel & Retail CEO Summit
last night. She's the first woman to wear a look from her Spring 2012 collection and in doing so
wore the item that most perplexed us: spats.

Current Partick Thistle manager and former Celtic star Jackie McNamara has used his experiemce

'The Therapy Room' concerns itself with the players at a Premier League side who use a video

gran organización de un torneo regional femenil, sin duda el segundo mas grande después de la
Copa Mundial.

Former Montreal Impact MVP David Testo announced yesterday that he is gay.
The midfielder, who also played for Columbus Crew and the Vancouver Whitecaps, was cut from the
Impact's roster a month ago, and said in his statement that he regrets not coming out publicly
earlier.
Terek Grozny is more famous for the things which happen on the sidelines like Ruud Gullit, for
instance than it is for their on-pitch accomplishments, as they've never finished higher than tenth
in the RPL. They're also rather famous for their home base, being the local club of Chechnya and
all, while being run by Chechnya's president, Ramzan Kadyrov.

I ever saw was on television, extended highlights from Liverpool beating Crystal Palace 9-0 in
1989. It's a game so famous it has its own wikipedia entry, but for all I knew at the time it was
business as usual in England.
Who doesn't love the Wikipedia game? (Employers, actually, but work with me.) Start out
somewhere random and hours later, land somewhere even more random after 42,817 clicks of the mouse.
Like starting at Anis Ben-Hatira and ending at Mata Hari.
Apparently it works with football videos too.
One of the mostly overlooked storylines of last night's comeback victory over the San Jose
Earthquakes was that the Seattle Sounders won the 2011 Heritage Cup - their second consecutive win
in the three-year history of that trophy. That would be the third piece of hardware for the
Sounders this season after the 2011 Cascadia Cup and the 2011 US Open Cup.
So Kasey Keller is retiring after this season :(
He is one of the greatest keepers we've ever seen, there is no doubt about that. But instead
of showing of his complete awesome-ness in goal, I wanted to find a video of a goal he gave up to
Mexico sometime in the 90's. I remember seeing the goal on TV when it happened, but I don't
remember exactly what year or competition it was in.
