Enter Sasha

Football Down Under and Beyond 19 October @ 01:37 AM EST
Enter Sasha McDonnell, the first professional woman player who caught my attention, somewhat by accident a few years ago. One of the reasons I came across her was she's a Brisbane girl, so I was mightily annoyed last year when she signed with Canberra.

What is MLS? The Top of a Pyramid that Doesn't Exist

A More Splendid Life 08 October @ 11:02 AM EST
The first few comments I received when I kicked off this little experiment immediately went into the relegation/promotion question. It goes without saying that structurally, R/P is a non-starter for Major League Soccer; private investors spent a lot of time and money insuring the necessary infrastructure had been put in place before securing their MLS club, with the agreement said club would always play at the highest professional level. Hello people, hope your enjoying your weekend thus far, and are anticipating a good win over Blackburn tomorrow. I think the team is performing well but we have to be consistent this season which wasn't the case last season, to the point where we had so many 0-0 draws in a row it was unbelievable.

Little Italy is present in the Bulgarian First Division

The Offside: Italy 02 October @ 03:37 PM EST

This was an interesting story I came across today. Apparently there is a "Little Italy" of sorts in the Bulgarian First Division (official named the Bulgarian TBI A Professional Football Group, which is ridiculous), as Bulgarian club PFC Botev Plovdiv is owned by an Italian owner, has an Italian chairman, an Italian-Congolese sporting director, an Italian manager, and a roster that contains 10 Italian players (soon to be 11).
