Martin Bonjour has been suspiciously absent from the start of the Vancouver Whitecaps' preseason camp, and now we know why.
Days after saying that Bonjour was missing because of personal reasons, the Whitecaps waived the Argentine centerback. Bonjour played just one season with the Whitecaps, scoring one goal in 28 appearances in 2012.
When FC Dallas hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night at FC Dallas Stadium, it won't
exactly be their first taste of facing the second-year member of Major League Soccer. After all,
FCD has faced the Whitecaps twice already in 2012, falling 1-0 at BC Place back earlier in the
season. But Dallas did exact a bit of revenge in the last meeting, blanking Vancouver 2-0 to split
their two trips at BC Place for the year.

A lot of labels have been attached to FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd in his nearly three seasons with
the club. One of those monikers is resilient. After having to miss last Saturday's 3-2 win over
Colorado because of a red card during a 1-1 draw at Portland the previous weekend, Loyd responded
with what his head coach called one of his best games in Wednesday's 2-0 shutout of Vancouver
Whitecaps FC at BC Place.

The BBC reports that Clint Dempsey wanted to go to Liverpool, and the club publicly stated their
interest but never made an offer. Fulham manager Martin Jol calls the situation "embarrassing.
One player who didn't figure into FC Dallas' 2-0 blanking of Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place on
Wednesday night was Jackson. The Brazilian-born midfielder missed a third straight game due to
concussion symptoms and while he is on the road trip with the team, it remains uncertain as to
whether or not he will make his return to the pitch on Saturday night against Real Salt Lake at Rio
Tinto Stadium.

I think the delay call against the Canada goalkeeper in the Olympic Women's Soccer Semifinal was
totally bogus. OK, so she delayed a little bit, but show me a keeper who doesn't do that with the

UPDATE: Sounders U23 defender DeAndre Yedlin was named First-Team
All-Conference on Monday and All-PDL on Tuesday. The 19-year-old helped lead the U23 team to the
Northwest Division title, a spot in next year's U.S. Open Cup and into the PDL semfinals. The PDL
is made up of four conferences and the All-League team will be announced on Tuesday.
The 2012 MLS All-Star Game will kick off on Wednesday night with a strong team of MLS standouts
taking on a Chelsea side that will certainly be dangerous despite the fact they are working their
way through pre-season.
MLS All-Star coach Ben Olsen has a variety of options to choose from when picking his team, and
the quality selections he made will make it that much of a more interesting process for him to
settle on his starting lineup.

A year ago, Jose Villarreal was scoring goals for Pateadores as his Academy club earned the 2011
U-17/18 Development Academy championship with a 2-1 win against FC Dallas in Milwaukee.
FC Dallas provided some drama on Wednesday night at the Development Academy Finals
Week
There were some fireworks on Wednesday as FC Dallas scored a game-winning goal in the fifth minute
of second half stoppage time to stay in the hunt for the U-17/18 championship match and set up a
"Dallas Derby" against Group 2 leader Solar Chelsea SC on Friday.
Storms rolled through earlier in the day, but the fields were in good shape by game time on
Monday night
The U-17/18 age group kicked off the 2011-12 Development Academy Finals Week on Monday night at the
Houston Amateur Sports Park. Vancouver Whitecaps FC, namely midfielder Ben Fisk, put on a notable
offensive performance, while Solar Chelsea SC also impressed with their strong play from the
outset.
The 2012 Major League Soccer All-Star squad has been announced and includes three players from
Sporting KC and San Jose Earthquakes. The team contains is a deep and talented squad with players
like Landon Donovan, Thierry Henry, David Beckham, and Dwayne De Rosario.
The All-Stars will face Chelsea at PPL Park on July 25, 2012.

Osvaldo Alonso and Eddie Johnson were both named MLS All-Star Game reserves by head coach Ben
Olsen on Sunday. The Seattle Sounders will now be eligible to play against Chelsea on July 25 in
Philadelphia.
It is the first All-Star game selection for both players, who are each enjoying solid seasons
for the Seattle Sounders.
The 2012 Major League All-Star starters have been announced and is led by three Sporting Kansas
City players, two from the Los Angeles Galaxy, two from the New York Red Bulls, and two from the
San Jose Earthquakes.
Landon Donovan leads the list of players followed by David Beckham, Thierry Henry, and Dwayne De
Rosario.
