Gibbs limped off with an ankle injury after a 12st minute tackle forced him out of the U21 Euro
match against Lithuania. He is to undergo an X ray as a precautionary measure and more information
on the extent of his injury will be available later this week.
With Gael Clichy out for a month with a back injury, the left back position was a lock for

There I was sitting at my desk at work and a news story came through to me about Saloman Kalou . It
said that he was involved in fight with West Brom's Abdoulaye Meite and that the two have since
made up but will miss the friendly against Germany on Weds!
I know what you are thinking.

haven't got a hope of getting online during the first few weeks in the new place, and trying to

"The Manchester players protested a lot. I don't know why. I don't like this."
Oh, the irony.
John Terry said he 'loved' Didier Drogba's disgraceful reaction to their result against
Barcelona last season. Remember the one? He had to be dragged away from the referee before shouting
"it's a fucking disgrace!

Chris Hughton claims that the team's focus was the key to Newcastle United's win over Peterborough
yesterday. Cardiff lost away to derby rivals Swansea and West Brom managed to beat promotion
hopefuls Leicester, which means a bit of a gap has opened up between the top 2 and the chasing
back. After the game, Hughton said: "We have [.

About six weeks ago I did a piece predicting West Ham to win the Premier League based on their
league position this year and Manchester United's league position last year after 5 games.
That prediction hasn't been working out too well (hopefully you didn't think I was
serious...although I'm pretty sure I still managed to annoy some Millwall fans.

by JAMES CURTIS Imagine breakfast in the Wenger household and you might hear Mrs Arsene snapping
at her husband's indecision whether or not to play his Young Guns against Liverpool tonight: "Oh
for heavens sake, let the kids play why wont you," she trumps.
It's a point well made, as for Arsenal fans the more exciting prospect of Carling Cup football
is the chance of seeing the talented youth in a real pressure setting.

In the midst of the Alonso summer saga, I posted the results from different midfield pairings.
Lucas/Mascherano's line looked like this:
6 wins, 4 draws
2-0 West Brom, 3-0 West Ham, 4-1 United, 1-1 City, 1-1 Wigan, 0-0 Stoke, 5-1 Newcastle, 3-1 PSV
[4-4-2], 0-0 Fulham [4-4-2], 2-1 Marseille
Let's ignore the PSV and Fulham games because of the 4-4-2 formation in Gerrard's absence (and
Torres' against PSV).

last year? Wolves, Birmingham and Burnley managers and presidents ask the same question today. You

Nottingham Forest put a dent in our title ambitions as what appeared to be a very unmotivated

Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have both surprisingly spoken out about the controversial issue of
football players earning every penny of their astronomically large salaries.
When the starting salary for a nurse is £20k a year, a teacher is £21k a year and a police
officer is £22k a year, it's hard to argue that John Terry deserves £160k a week!

the success or failure of clubs in general won't be nearly as exciting as identifying a more
specific object of analysis.
