Premier League club sacks manager after only four months in charge! - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
West Brom have parted company with manager Pepe Mel, with the Spaniard leaving the club after only four months in charge at the Premier League side.
Mel, 51,succeeded Steve Clarke back in January, but led the club to only three victories from 17 matches, with West Brom finishing 17th in the Premier League table, only three points above the relegation zone.
It's Newcastle tonight after a weekend which shows you can take nothing for granted in the Premier League this season.
More on that anon, but in terms of our own task, we know three points tonight would give us a brilliant chance of securing that top four place. It would put us four points clear of Everton with just two games to go, one of those a home game against West Brom, the other away at Norwich.
Time is running out for both Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion to finish their seasons in the best possible manner — with City needing a victory to keep themselves in the title race, while West Brom need a win to lift themselves away from the relegation mire. This one has the opportunity to come alive very quickly especially if there's an early goal.
The BBC website produces match reports for all of the games every single Premier League side plays during the season. From Premier League and FA Cup, to Champions League to League Cup ties the BBC reports on them all. I thought it would be interesting to compile all of these reports for each of the twenty Premier League sides, and to produce word-clouds for each side.

QPR's on loan Newcastle United striker Loic Remy was spotted at the Emirates as Arsenal beat West Brom 1-0 in their last home game of the season. Olivier Giroud scored the solitary goal for the Gunners in the afternoon but the cameras were firmly etched on Remy.
West Bromwich Albion are mathematically not safe yet for another Premier League season, while Arsenal have confirmed a UEFA Champions League spot after Everton's defeat yesterday, so you would expect the Baggies to give it their all today at the Emirates Stadium in the first match of the day.
In team news, Abou Diaby makes his first return to an Arsenal squad is more than 13 months, with an appearance on the bench.
Arsenal vs West Bromwich Albion Preview, Line up and predicted score by KJ I'm writing this article knowing the result between City and Everton (3-2 to City). Arsenal have already won the Wenger Trophy and can now concentrate on preparing for the FA Cup Final at the end of the season, but Arsene Wenger has already stated that he will be aiming to win our last couple of games anyway to keep the momentum going. So we are all hoping for a [...]
It's alright Arsenal fans, I have not gone bonkers mental, at least I don't think I have. When the doctors come round next I'll ask them. But I do have a reason for thinking that Arsenal could actually do with Everton getting a win over Man City at Goodison Park on Saturday. First of all, [...]
Most of the transfer tittle tattle from Arsenal fans at the moment revolves around the acquisition of a new striker, or a new screening midfielder or the rumoured return of an old flame. But how Arsene Wenger addresses the right back slot is likely to have a significant impact on the team next season.
First of all, let us get the matter of the match-up against West Bromwich's Finest Albion, loveable plucky whipping boys of the English League, sponsored by ‘Kick Me' and perfectly positioned above the bottom three to pose no obvious threat. Really, we should have put five or six past a team of this ‘quality', but the whole game had the air of end-of-term games lesson about it.
Sunderland won their fourth game in a row tonight with a 2-0 easy win against West Brom, with goals in the first half from Jack Colback and Fabio Borini and that's 13 points for the Black Cats from their last five games. Jack Colback scored a good first goal for Black Cats tonight So [...]
Given the plight of both these two sides it could be worth siding with West Brom who need a victory more than West Ham who are well and truely safe from the drop this season with West Brom toiling just above the drop zone albeit with a few games in hand.
