A few players have hithered and thithered about since the turn of the year but, after a fairly
dormant month on the transfer front and with only 385,589 precious seconds left until the January
window SLAMS SHUT is closed carefully and contentiously by the relevant
personnel, we impatient fools at Pies reckon it's high time to start making big things happen in
our minds.

In matchup of undefeated teams, the Portland Trail Blazers topped the Denver Nuggets by a final
score of 111-102. These two Western Conference sleepers played a fantastic game that featured a lot
of back of forth action. Don't be surprised if the Blazers and Nuggets face each other in the 2012
NBA playoffs.

On-loan Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes that the most realistic aim for the
Spurs is to fight for a top-four finish rather than aiming specifically for the first place, which
is currently occupied by his parent club Manchester City.
The Citizens endured a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Napoli last night and are now on the
verge of elimination from Europe's top-tier club competition.

Aston Villa 3-2 Norwich City Premier League 5th November 2011
A good old-fashioned five-goal thriller unfolded at Villa Park on Saturday, with the home side
coming out on top courtesy of their in-form forward line.
A much improved performance from Villa in a lively game led to a vital three points at home
thanks to two goals from Darren Bent, and a goal for the provider of both those goals; man of the
match Gabby Agbonlahor. Goals from Anthony Pilkington and Steve Morison bookended the home goals,
and set up a nervous final ten minutes.

This is episode 2 in our series as excitement builds ahead of the playoff clash with Estonia. On
this epsiode, two dedicated Irish supporters join us to give their views.
We have John from YBIG.ie, a Raheny man looking forward to jetting off to Tallinn.
As the Montral Impact transition from not very good NASL side to expansion MLS team they have
invited 25 players to trial and attempt to be on their inaugural roster. Miguel Montano, who the
Seattle Sounders had loaned to the Impact, will be staying with them for their trial camp. There
are a few other players familar to those that follow the Sounders.

Manchester United 2-0 Norwich City Premier League October 1st 2011
Only for some very poor finishing, Premier League new boys Norwich City would have celebrated
a well deserved victory at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils were carved open time and time again, but ultimately, the Canaries would, in true
footballing fashion, pay for their misses.
If you are an MLS player and cut during the season the chances are very strong that the Seattle
Sounders will ask you to come to Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Washington on trial. The latest
trialist is former Chicago Fire utility man Bratislav Ristic. Released in late July, Ristic was a
spot performer at RB, LB, RM, CDM and LM.
Wes Knight is on his way to trial with the Seattle Sounders over the next few days. Joshua
Mayers confirmed a tweet that indicated Knight would be headed to Seattle for a several day look.
The 25 on Tuesday right back/right mid played with the Vancouver Whitecaps in both the USL (was a
finalist for Rookie of Year in 2009) and in MLS.

Just look at him, the dirty flirt!
Wes Sneijder has been busy this morning, cork-screwing his metaphorical dagger into the hearts
of thousands of Manchester United fans across the globe by regaling Dutch daily AD with tales of
just how close he came to turning up at Old Trafford over the summer:
"I just felt that it was close, yes [I thought I was going to join Manchester United].

- Wes & Yolanthe in Ibiza should be the last 'ballers on breaks pictures you'll be seeing for
awhile, dear friends. The couple was seen celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary with fam and
friends aboard a yacht on Saturday.
- Maarten Stekelenburg's first day at Roma (which we know wasn't this weekend but we still felt
the need to mention anyway) went a lil something like this: drive to training, give presser in
English since non parla l'italiano, watch Gabby Heinze roll up his shorts.

No wonder the dude in the background is depressed. To be following the display of deliciousness
that is Wesley Sneijder, wifey Yolanthe Cabau Van Kasbergen and his son Jessey down a street in St
Tropez is a reminder to us all of the futility and pointlessness of our lives.
Here are the teams for tonight's game against Orlando City, which has just kicked off. Orlando

Generally when a team fires a coach midseason, they will schedule it before a series of easier
opponents. This gives the new coach a chance to start off his tenure with some good results, and
from a PR perspective it makes it easier to convince the fans that the change was for the better
based on those results.
This baby Cascadia match is destined to be over shadowed by the two trailists (Cillian Sheridan
and Myron Samuel - links to brief scouting reports), but is also a key Reserve match between the
Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps. Seattle has dominated Reserve play displaying their depth
by winning all 4 previous matches with a goal differential of five.
Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart were interviewed on AT5 Studio Ajax today.
"Do I want to go to United? It's a beautiful club," he said. "But I'm fine in Milano and not at
the point to think about it."
"You see all those players from Manchester United and City are coming to London," said Van der
Vaart.
The Swope Park Rangers opened the 2011 reserve league season today down in Houston when they took
on the Dynamo. The team has said this season that they like the depth that they have with this
team, but all the injuries have piled up, as Sporting KC had to start two Juniors players (Nate
Opperman and Wes White both from the U16s) up top due to injuries that have forced some reserves
into starting roles.
I was lucky enough to attend the Vancouver Whitecaps FC first night match against the New England
Revolution. It was my first MLS match and I truly couldn't wait to watch the Caps take on the
Revolution, hoping for three points. While the experience at the stadium was fantastic, the match
was a strange one.
