The NASL released their 2012 Schedule on Thursday. After taking the league over from the USSF D2
Pro League in 2010, the NASL 2011 schedule was a bit more stretched out then the previous year
which helped to layout a more balanced schedule with many more weekend games. This years schedule
looks to improve upon [.

The Kansas Magic continued their 2-game road trip in Detroit on Saturday night. Seeking to gain a
split in their weekend games, the Kansas Magic failed to outscore the Detroit Waza and lost 10-7 at
the Taylor Sportsplex.
Behind 4-0 after the 1st quarter, the Magic could only match the Waza's output for the 2nd quarter
and trailed 6-2 at halftime.
West Bromwich Albion have been struggling near to the wrong end of the table and know the next few
weeks could define whether they are safe in mid-table or battling Premier League relegation in the
closing stages of the season.
Roy Hodgson's men are three places above the dreaded bottom three but do have the safety of a
six-point cushion between them in 15th and Bolton in 18th.
Premier League Preview: Arsenal and Chelsea fight to catch up with Tottenham and Manchester City
- originally posted on Soccerlens.com
With 15 points separating the top five teams in the English Premier League, the race for a top
four place is well and truly on. If you bet on football, you'll know that Manchester City are still
favourites for the league title but with a tough set of fixtures ahead of them, things can change
very quickly.
Frank de Boer selected Keizer and Cruyff for this weekend's game...
Hi all, as you know by now, I will be watching weekend games till Monday night and won't comment
too much on actual matches.
I did see Arsenal's win over Chelsea yesterday and highly enjoyed Van Persie's ongoing success
(although Wenger [read more]
The MLS Cup Playoffs are under way with New York the first team to advance out of the newly
minted Wildcard round. The first playoff match was televised on FSC. However, with the
Colorado/Columbus match not scheduled to be televised nationally, MLS smartly made the match
available to all fans via the website.
With the October international window now over, Clint Demspey, Tim Howard, and Jonathan Spector all
return to their English clubs this weekend for a full schedule of weekend games.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - After four training sessions in two days, the U.S. men's national team
returned the practice field on a cool Thursday evening finally able to do one thing: Focus on
Honduras.
Having been recovering from weekend games and with their upcoming friendly against the Catrachos
getting closer, the Americans went through a 90-minute session in which every player aside from
Nick Rimando (who is not yet in camp) participated.
Busy week in Major League Soccer with Champions League group stage matches, important jockeying
for playoff position and the opening of Bell Pitch Downtown in Vancouver. Before we get to
attendance, here are a couple of thoughts on the inagural match at the league's newest showpiece.
First, it is unfortunate that the game was not part of a national telecast.
Manchester United striker Michael Owen has admitted he was concerned his contract with the
Premier League champions was not going to be renewed after the club lifted the title last
season.
The former England regular only played a bit-part in United's 19th league title success, with
strikers Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez enjoying much of the game time towards the business end
of the season, which saw the Red Devils also reach the final of the Champions League.

One thing I love about the start of the college soccer season is the amount of big time games
that are usually going on all over the place. The start of this new season is no different as there
are plenty of great games listed on the schedule this weekend.

Kansas City continues another busy week tomorrow when they'll take on Real Salt Lake in another
home game at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The game is between weekend games against New England and
Seattle. Real Salt Lake comes into town on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss at home to
Columbus, giving up two early goals, a disease that KC has suffered from as well.
Another week down in MLS and another week that the draws keep most of the clubs where they were
a week ago. Only a couple movers in this week's rankings as Seattle leaped over Dallas, Portland
moved up and Colorado began their fall further down.
Hopefully next week we start seeing some changes again as the schedule gets fairly crowded with
midweek games and weekend games before the All-Star "break" next week.
I have yet to speak to anyone who isn't surprised at Newcastle's decision to sell Kevin Nolan -
their captain and main source of inspiration. A huge gaping hole has been left in their midfield,
and all because they wouldn't offer him one more year on top of their two year contract extension
offer.
I suspect that manager Alan Pardew hasn't had much say in the deal, given he has already expressed
his desire – several times – to keep the player at the club.
As recently reported, FSC FOX Soccer is going through an exciting rebrand in time for the new
EPL season. As exciting as that sounds, FOX is missing a chance to generate buzz right now with
the Gold Cup. The Gold Cup, now in its knockout stages, will have possibly two weekend games for
the US men's national team -- which is a source of very good ratings.
In a span of eight days, FC Milwaukee played nearly half of its Women's Premier Soccer League
schedule.
The Nationals are 3-0-1 in that span after beating the Iowa Rush 2-1 on Saturday night and
getting past Minnesota Kings FC 1-0 on Sunday in Midwest Conference North Division matches played
in Germantown.

The Richmond Kickers' fall from grace continued with a 1-1 draw to FC New York on Saturday.
Richmond is winless in four games after starting the season with a six-game winning streak. The
Kickers find themselves three points behind Orlando City with no games in hand.
Mid week games are always fun for the fans, more soccer means more fun. Some teams lament them
because of rest and travel preceding weekend games. Can't blame them there. Last night though fans
were treated to some fun games.
New York Red Bulls 2, Colorado Rapids 2
In what was easily the most exciting match of the night, four goals were scored in six minutes.
On May 25th, 1778 British-led forces raided the Rhode Island towns of Bristol and Warren. They took
prisoners and supplies before withdrawing. On May 25th, 2011 the British-led Rapids will try to
raid another Northeast town, this time Harrison, NJ. They hope to take points and confidence with
them when they withdraw.
You're getting my game preview a day early because I have concert tickets tomorrow night and won't
be around. ;) Saturday night the Rapids make their first road trip of the season, heading to LA to
face the Under-A-Chivas, now coached by former Rapid Robin Fraser.
Kickoff is at 8:30pm MDT and the game is on Altitude 2.
Fabio Capello says he will wait until after the weekend's action before deciding whether to call up
Andy Carroll for England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales.
Striking ace Carroll, who made his debut for his country against France at Wembley in November, is
expected to start for Liverpool at Sunderland on Sunday after shrugging off injury problems which
have hindered his chances of an immediate impact at Anfield.
Chris Smalling has acknowledged that we're fragile at the back with all our injuries, with Rio
Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Rafael, John O'Shea and Jonny Evans all currently injured. However, he
hopes that he's played well enough in Rio's absence to ensure the fans have faith in him.
"We're down to the bare bones in the defensive department but whoever has stepped in has
done a great job," said Smalling.
DALLAS, Texas The highest level of soccer competition in the world is coming to Dallas for the
Green Soccer Bowl tournament, Feb. 26-27 at the Cotton Bowl. The weekend tournament will pit the
national teams from Nigeria, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama against each other. Nigeria will be
using the tournament as a tune-up [.
It was a game of brinkmanship well worth playing, as Ian Holloway wasn't alone in thinking the
Premier League would actually fine him for fielding a 'weakened' team against Villa last
autumn.
But now they have, Holloway has been true to his word and offered his resignation, though I'm sure
he knows it won't be accepted.
With the SLeague due to start in a couple of weeks fans in Singapore expecting great changes
following a disappointing 2010 are likely to be disappointed. Tanjong Pagar have returned to
replace Beijing Guan but that's about it. Weekend games aren't being scheduled because they clash
with English premier League, talk about an insecurity complex emanating from FAS headquarters!
