As we head into Week 17 of the 2011 NFL season, let's take a look at the power rankings. While
the top of these NFL power rankings has familiar teams, the bottom is starting to be populated by
underdogs who may be able to make a run at the Super Bowl.
Here are the NFL power rankings heading into Week 17:

In Week 17 of the 2011 fantasy football season, there are a number of explosive options at wide
receiver. Check out our top ten list for best WRs to start for Week 17. You can't really go wrong
with any of these wide receivers, especially the first few.
1. Wes Welker, New England Patriots
Brady will go to Welker early and often.
The Dallas Cowboys are facing a must-win game against the New York Giants on Sunday.
Unfortunately, quarterback Tony Romo won't be completely healthy. He bruised his throwing hand in
Week 16 and has been practicing with a wrap heading into Week 17.
That said, the Cowboys and Romo are confident that he will play this week.

D.C. United have registered a hat trick.
For the third consecutive week, a D.C. United attacker has claimed Player of the Week honors, as
voted on by the North American Soccer Reporters. After two straight weeks of honors for Dwayne De
Rosario, winger Chris Pontius got into the act this week.

Brian Shriver Offensive Player of the Week
The NASL has named Fort Lauderdale Strikers forward Brian Shriver Offensive Player of the Week.
Shriver scored two goals in the Strikers 3-0 win against FC Edmonton on Saturday night at Lockhart
Stadium.

The NASL has named Fort Lauderdale Strikers forward Brian Shriver Offensive Player of the Week.
Shriver scored two goals in the Strikers 3-0 win against FC Edmonton on Saturday night at Lockhart

DC United midfielder Dwayne De Rosario was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Week for Week
20. De Rosario scored both goals in DC's 2-0 win over San Jose. It was his third goal for DC since

Week 17 of the NASL season saw action in three locations over the weekend. On Saturday, Cary,
North Carolina hosted the RailHawks as they added another win halting the Atlanta Silverbacks 1-0
in a storm shortened game. In Fort Lauderdale, the Strikers rebounded to officially put FC
Edmonton in a slump with a 3-0 slapdown.

and Dwayne De Rosario showdown in New York. A strange goal from a David Beckham PK gave LA the win
and we saw one of the greatest soccer rivalries in North America on national television. All in
all, a fun weekend of MLS play.

Seattle Sounders forward Fredy Montero's two goals in his club's 3-2 derby win over Portland won
him Player of the Week honors for Week 17, Major League Soccer announced on Monday. Montero scored
his first goal in the 57th minute and his second in the 74th. This is Montero's third career Player
of the Week award.

A nearly full weekend schedule of games waits us as MLS goes into week 17′s weekend portion.
All but two clubs (New England and Columbus) are in action this weekend. Not sure how those two got
the weekend off here.
The second half of the season is shaping up here as we move into the weekend portion of week 17.
Last night's four games gave us plenty to go off of as New York finally woke up offensively,
Colorado looked decent early but surrendered points late to KC, Chivas found a way to get by San
Jose and then there was Jeff Cunningham tying the all-time scoring mark with his last minute goal
against the Whitecaps.
