London (AFP) – Swansea racked up the biggest FA Cup win in their history as Tammy Abraham and Nathan Dyer inspired an 8-1 thrashing of Notts County in Tuesday’s fourth round replay.
Despite fielding a much-changed side, Swansea settled any potential nerves with two goals in the space of as many first-half minutes at the Liberty Stadium.

Kingston upon Hull (United Kingdom) (AFP) – Oumar Niasse proved an inspired substitution by Marco Silva as his second-half double boosted Hull’s hopes of retaining their Premier League status with a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Swansea on Saturday.
Niasse, on loan from Everton, struck in the 69th and 78th minutes to give Hull their third win over Swansea this season - their other win coming in the FA Cup - and saw them rise to third from bottom just a point off Crystal Palace, although the latter have a game in hand.

Stoke-on-Trent (United Kingdom) (AFP) Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony ended a 10-month goal drought with a brace against former club Swansea City as Stoke City's revival continued with a 3-1 win in Monday's Premier League clash.
Both goals for the 27-year-old Manchester City loanee were set up by another former Swansea favourite, Joe Allen, with Alfie Mawson also putting through his own net as Stoke claimed a third win on the bounce.

Goalkeeper controversies have been one of the themes of the Premier League season so far.
Andre Villas-Boas having to decide between Hugo Lloris or Brad Friedel at Tottenham Hotspur, Sir Alex Ferguson alternating David de Gea and Anders Lindegaard at Manchester United.
In what is actually quite uncharacteristic for our review of the week's best players, defenders actually dominated the upper echelon of Premier League players in Week 7 and account for a majority of this edition's selections.
As always, we take all fixtures into the matter and pick out several of the top performers that were vital in their side clinching the weekend's vital result.

Swansea City 3-0 West Ham United Premier League 25 August 2012
A clash of two rather different styles of play here, with Michael Laudrup's smooth and sexy
Swans starting well against Sam Allardyce's more prosaic Hammers.
The Premier League kicked off its 2012-13 season with both Swansea and Fulham winning big, while
it was a disappointing first game in charge for Brendan Rodgers of Liverpool.
Swansea City midfielder Michu scored a goal in each half on his Premier League debut as the
Swans thumped Queens Park Rangers 5-0 at Loftus Road.
Kenny Palmer gives THFC1882 his match report on Tottenham Hotspur's great display
yesterday.
A headed brace by Emmanuel Adebayor and an excellent side footed opener by Rafael Van Der Vaart
helped Spurs back to winning ways with a victory against Brendan Rodgers impressive Swansea.
Tottenham Hotspur ended a five-match winless streak in the Premier League by beating Swansea
City 3-1 at White Hart Lane, and as a result moved level on points with third-placed Arsenal.
Spurs took the lead on 19 minutes as Rafael van der Vaart converted a stylish, sidefooted effort
from just outside the area after a sliding Ashley Williams had cut out Gareth Bale's near-post
cross.

Swansea wingerWayne Routledge has saluted his club's performance after the Swansbeat Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti 5-1 in the Europa League on Thursday. The 28-year-old winger scored twice for the club during their dominant performance, and believes that it was a great response to the club's 4-1 loss to Manchester United last Saturday.
Swansea pretty much secured their place in the group stage of the Europa League with a 5-1 win against Romania's Petrolul Ploiesti in last night's playoff first-leg. Wayne Routledge gave the Swans the lead a comfortable first-half lead with two goals either side of Michu's effort. Goalkeeper Peterson Pecanha turned the ball into his own [.

Scott: How did you rate 2012-2013 for your club?
Chris: Last season couldn't have gone better! It's been hailed the best season in the club's history and rightly so, with the club recording their highest ever league finish and winning the league cup.
I remember someone once saying to me 'you have to experience the lows in order to appreciate the highs.' I don't think that person was drunk at the time of saying those words, so I have tried to apply them to Arsenal's current predicament. We went unbeaten for a whole season, demolished most sides in our path and played some stonkingly good football at the same time.
Swansea 2-2 Reading Premier League 6th October 2012
Two late Swansea goals rescued a point for the home side at the Liberty Stadium, a point which finally halted Michael Laudrup's losing streak as well as preventing Reading from enjoying their first win of the campaign.
szólj hozzá: Swansea vs West Ham 3:0 GOALS HIGHLIGHTS
What a shambolic display by West Ham! Jussi Jaaskelainen in goal just makes an unhloly mess as
he reacts too late to Angel Rangel's shot allowing it to deflect off his hands straight to goal.
Then more disaster as Michu steals James Collins's disaster of a chipped back pass and the rush is
on but the Spanish midfielder beats Jaaskelainen for his third Premiership goal.

Speaking in recent interview on Swansea City's Europa League campaign next season, Chairman Huw Jenkins knocked Europa League knockers such as Alan Pardew, who has frequently used midweek European competition as an excuse for his poor League form this season (amongst other things), with Jenkins dismissing such talk as "rubbish.

The game went ahead amidst many calls for its postponement following the tragic news of Gary
Speed's death. The result doesn't seem that important in the scheme of things right now, but it's
probably a point that will prove invaluable at the end of the season.
Following a heart warming and entirely spontaneous round of applause in place of the planned minute
of silence, the first half didn't provide any shocks.
This game will go ahead despite the tragic news that Wales manager, Gary Speed, has apparently
taken his own life. Naturally, with the game being in Wales and a number of internationals
involved, the game will inevitably be effected in some way. Such sad news.
Alex McLeish has promised a better performance than we were treated to at White Hart Lane and,
in all honesty, it would be difficult to be much worse.
Striker Andy Carroll was the fall-guy for Liverpool after missing a first-half sitter in the
goalless draw at home to Swansea.
For the second successive home match against a newly-promoted team Kenny Dalglish's side failed to
convert their chances.
Carroll's was the miss everyone will remember, although there were enough opportunities created
afterwards to have prevented a third home draw in a row.
