by CARL ELDRIDGE Straight into it this morning my fellow Arsenalistas and news that Robin van
Persie wants a Serbian housewife to massage placenta fluid into his injured ankle in bid to return
to action for Arsenal within a month, reports the Daily Mail.
The paper says RVP flies to Belgrade today with Arsene Wenger's approval to seek out the
services of a mysterious woman who works from home and claims her unorthodox remedy can drastically
speed up recovery times.

Danny Simpson left Manchester United under a bit of a cloud after mistakes in his personal life
saw Sir Alex Ferguson ship him out to Blackburn Rovers. The move was supposed to be as a favour to
Paul Ince but Danny struggled to get in the team and the move became a bit of a waste of time.
Simpson is enjoying himself a lot more at Newcastle though and reckons he would sign for them if
he was asked in January or at the end of the season.

Coming in late last night, a little tipsy, I noticed a friend had emailed me a link to a Youtube
clip of Van Persie going off injured after a tackle by Giorgio Chiellini.
If you watch the video, Chiellini does little wrong. Robin bursts into the box and he comes across
to cut it out - whilst my original reaction (below) was to blame him, I don't think this is fair.

Everyone I have spoken to or who has texted me says the same thing. That Indonesia were crap and
that the Uruguay adventure has been a waste of time and money. So there you have it. Everyone says
it so it must be true.
But before I jump on that particular bandwagon...
The opening 15 or 20 minutes were as good as anything I've seen from any Indonesian football team
since I took up my computer to begin these rambles.

If you've been closely following the convoluted game of chicken currently being played by
the new owners of USL and the renegade group of USL1 owners who call themselves the TOA (Ticked-off
Owners Association), congratulations. You're certifiable.
For the rest of us, the threats, counter threats, rumors and gross exaggerations leaking
(intentionally or not) over the transom from the (most likely cheap) rented hotel meeting rooms
where everyone is going to huff and puff at each other is all we need to know for certain that
sooner or later one side or the other will cave in, but until the first ball is kicked in anger in
the 2010 USL season almost nothing can be said to be permanent.

It's many years down the road, but there is already talk of how the U.S. economy would be
affected by hosting the World Cup in either 2018 or 2022. A recent study conducted by the Economics
practice at a leading sports consulting firm (AECOM) indicated that the U.S. would receive a
potential boost of $5 billion if it were to host the World Cup.

So where does everyone stand on the Carling Cup ahead of tomorrows game? Is it a trophy worth
winning or a waste of time? Should it be a first team job, a side full of reserves or a mixture of
youth and experience? I have to admit I generally write it off and look forward to [...]

After years in coaching in Spain and now England, it seems Fabio Capello has turned on his
Italian compatriots...or at least is now far enough away to not fear a violent attack from the
ultras. At an seminar organized by the Italian FA about the state of calcio, Capello is quoted as
saying:
"It's the ultras who give the orders in Italy.

Towards the end of Frances' 3-1 win over Austria in the Stade de France, one wacky and totally
original soul ran out on the pitch, waving a French flag. Unfortunately, this human waste of time
didn't wear the right shoes for pitch invading, and so he went down hard right at midfield, before
scrambling to his feet and evading stewards just so he could get taken down with a proper crunch
moments later.

We here at COS Towers love a bit of nostalgia and we think that you do too.
As kids we all remember playing footie until it got dark, or until that irritating kid decided
we couldn't use his ball anymore, and we all recall with alarming vividness pretending to score a
goal in the manner of our heroes.

World Cup 2010 gets the expose-esque documentary treatment from South African filmmaker Craig
Tanner and Levitation Films. It already caused a bit of a stir at the Durban International Film
Festival and looks to repeat the trick worldwide upon it's release (date TBD).
According to the filmmakers "Fahrenheit 2010 cuts through the hype, with an uncompromising
examination of what the World Cup means for South Africans themselves - in particular, who actually
stands to benefit from the diversion of millions of dollars to build 21st century sports arenas in
a country in which, 15 years after throwing off apartheid's yoke, millions live in shacks and have
no access to water – a South Africa where life expectancy has plummeted to below that of
Ethiopia.

Robert Earnshaw: in need of a trim, if not a new car
When it comes to haircuts, nature has long since ensured that I need opt for nothing more expensive
than a trip to the local barber for a simple buzz job. A trip to Tony & Guy would be not only a
needless extravagance, but also a complete waste of time.

Yesterday I watched the match between Crystal Palace and Man City on Sky Sports 1 and throughout
the 1st half and glimpses in the second Palace held their own and in the 1st half had 5 shots on
target 4 more than Man City.
But one player caught my attention through the match and this was Palace's Victor Moses.

Murmers abound: Arsene Wenger may be planning a move for old Arsenal stalwart Patrick Vieira.
This is either the perfect plan or a complete waste of time. I haven't figured it out yet.
The Vieira who once helped lead Arsenal through the glory days of trophies and titles could
be what the Professor needs right now.

I'm having a very hard time resisting the temptation to call JOHN JAGOU this morning.
I don't want to wait until this afternoon to get his take on Mexican Coach Javier Aguirre's send
off last night during El Tri's match against Panama.
I mean sure, maybe Sven Goren Erikkson didn't exactly get the job done down there but in the
"credit where credit is due" department he never kicked an opposing player in the junk, either:
According to Aguirre, using the now-familiar Mexican team player-and/or-official non-apology
format, the problem was of course not that he was guilty of doing something stupid; rather, he was
simply defending the integrity of the game, serving as sort of an auxiliary referee:
"I didn't have good conduct in those two or three minutes, that in my opinion,
were brought on
by a waste of time by part of the opponent that tried to defend a ball when the referee had
called a throw in.

The answer is very simple; you have to speculate to accumulate. As a very young man, Bischoff
was a highly rated talent, something that Wenger was well aware of. Shortly after signing for
Werder Bremen he received a career threatening injury and the club didn't know what to do with him.
Wenger leapt on the opportunity to pick up such a potential talent for free.

Next up tomorrow is Wigan Athletic away in the capital of the nation's pie-eaters. We need total
focus on this game to the exclusion of all else. I'm sure you're sick of me saying this, but it's
the only way we'll get anything out of this season.
It's looking increasingly like we'll have to do without Big Bad Bill Gallas for the rest of the
season.

If last season's Championship is anything to go by, this page is a complete waste of time. This

parachute money.

Let the war of words commence Fergie just can't resist a bit of cerebral gymnastics. Mind you, he
hasn't exactly been at the top of his game in recent times. Mainly because his toughest sparring
partner Arsene hasn't been identified as his prime rival in the hunt for the Premiership crown. In
the meantime, the great Scot refused to indulge in psyche-outs while he continued his love-in with
Jose Mourinho – maybe there was something in the wine.

My initial reaction when I gave the Euro 2008 schedule was: No 3rd place playoff? Excellent.
It's basically a friendly between the B teams of two disappointed teams.
Sandwiched between the drama of the semi-finals (there's always drama in semi-finals) and the
big event that is the final, the game to see who finishes third and who finish fourth feels like a
limp waste of time.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Worst. Game. Ever.
This game was so dull that it really isn't worthy of a proper match report, in fact if it hadn't
been for the fact that I'm blogging this tournament I would've turned this snoozefest off and
watched "Big Brother" or some other vacuous Channel 4 crap.
Italy were extremely defensive and without Pirlo, who was suspended, to pull the strings in
midfield, they resorted to pumping the ball forward for Luca Toni to head, scuff, mis-control and
occasionally shoot everywhere but towards the direction of Casillas's goal.
