The U.S. men's national team's rumored friendly against Brazil has been confirmed, and
FedExField will be the site for its location.
In preparation for World Cup qualifying, the United States will host Brazil on May 30 at the
home of the Washington Redskins in Landover, Md.
Video analysis is an important piece of the evaluation process for a coaching staff, and is also an
invaluable teaching tool.
In relation to the use of video, I always tell our players that 'you have what I thought, what you
thought, and the truth...because video NEVER lies.'
The ability to show critical analysis of what went wrong in the previous match or training session,
as well as areas of improvement from the previous week, is an invaluable way to help your players
grow and develop.
It's only a matter of time that the Indianapolis Colts let Peyton Manning walk. Since they have
the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and will select Andrew Luck, the Colts will let go of Manning
and go in a different direction.
With that in mind, where will Manning end up? Well, first of all, since he's dealing with a neck
injury, there's a chance he will retire.
Now these are the Philadelphia Eagles we were expecting heading into the season. In a dominant
performance, the Eagles destroyed the Dallas Cowboys by a final score of 34-7. And honestly, it
wasn't even that close.
Michael Vick had one of his best games of the season, finishing 21-for-28 for 279 passing yards,
50 rushing yards and two passing touchdowns.
A mix of exciting youngsters and grizzled veterans had breakout games in Week 8 of the 2011
fantasy football season. We saw a number of upsets and a few great games. Here's a look at the best
fantasy football performances of Week 8.
QB Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
The Panthers rookie continues to dazzle.
Chris Cooley could never get out of the gates this season for the Washington Redskins. The star
tight end seemed injured from Day 1. Now it's official: Chris Cooley is out for the rest of the
2011 NFL season.
Chris Cooley had knee surgery in the offseason but due to the NFL lockout, he didn't have
medical help when recovering.
Tony Romo suffered a punctured lung and a broken rib in Week 2. He battled through the pain in
Week 3 and played a key role in the Dallas Cowboys beating the Washington Redskins. This weekend,
Tony Romo will play ... but it will come with a price.
In order to play, Tony Romo is going to have to get more pain injections.
Who said kickers aren't real football players. On Monday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys won
thanks to their sure-footed kicker. Dan Bailey was 6-for-6 on field goals to lift the Cowboys to an
18-16 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Said Bailey: "We had good snaps, good holds, great protection.
Dallas Cowboys fans have one thing on their mind heading into tonight's Monday Night Football
game against the Washington Redskins: Is Tony Romo going to play? The good news for the Cowboys and
their fans is that, yes, Romo plans on playing.
Even though Romo suffered a punctured lung and a broken rib last week, he says that he's "good
to go" for MNF.
An MRI showed good news and bad news for Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys. The good news: he has
only one broken rib (it was originally thought he had two broken ribs). The bad news: Romo has a
punctured lung.
While a punctured lung is nothing to joke about, it sounds as if the Cowboys expect Romo to play
in Week 3.
In Week 1 of the 2011 fantasy football season, there were a lot of surprising players leading
the way for the fantasy football world. If you had one of these players in you fantasy starting
lineup, pat yourself on the back. Job well done!
Here's our list of the most surprising fantasy football players in Week 1:
QB Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Wow.
After the first couple rounds, it can be difficult to find a decent running back this year in
fantasy football. However, here are a few sleeper running backs that you may be able to steal in
your 2011 fantasy football drafts.
DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
In 2009, DeAngelo Williams was a fantasy football stud.
The fourth edition of the annual Mia Hamm & Nomar Garciaparra Celebrity Soccer Challenge turned
out to be quite a success in the D.C. area on Sunday.
The charity event, which is dedicated to raising awareness about registering as a bone marrow
donor, featured NBA superstar Kobe Bryant along with several U.
The Washington Redskins haven't been very good at running the football the last few years. On
Sunday, the Redskins brought in another option at running back by trading for Tim Hightower. In the
deal, the Redskins sent Vonnie Holliday and an unspecified pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Tim Hightower is a big, powerful runner who excels near the goal line.
The Albert Haynesworth era in New England can begin. The giant defensive lineman passed his
conditioning tests and will practice today with the Patriots. The Patriots acquired Haynesworth
from the Washington Redskins for a late-round draft pick.
Yesterday, speculation had it that Haynesworth had failed his conditioning test and therefore
wasn't allowed to practice.
Nnamdi Asomugha is the most sought after free agent on the open market. He's arguably the best
cornerback in the NFL and is free to sign with any team in the league. Who will Nnamdi Asomugha
sign with? Right now, it looks like Nnamdi Asomugha is going to sign with the Dallas Cowboys.
Early Friday, NFL sources said that the bidding war over Nnamdi Asomugha was between the Cowboys
and the New York Jets.
There are rumblings that a trade could be brewing between the Minnesota Vikings and the
Washington Redskins that would make Donovan McNabb the Vikings new quarterback. While the trade
talk is still in the early stages, a McNabb trade would make sense for both teams.
For the Redskins, McNabb has no future with the team.
We're #136! We're #136! We're #136!
Okay, these figures about the "200 best-paying teams in the world" is a bit of out date as
they're based on last season. Hull and Portsmouth are not in the EPL, nor is Siena still in Serie
A.
But it's nice to know we pay about the same on salaries that Fiorentina do, right?
Thank God Dan Synder, owner of the Washington Redskins, is not our owner. Or an owner of any
soccer club for that matter (yes, even Chelsea...)
For reasons unknown, the guide doesn't even mention Dan once made it illegal to walk to
the stadium, so fans had to park in the approved lots and pay the exorbitant fee.
The Philadelphia Eagles are starting to leak their plans regarding the future of their
quarterback position. After a great season, Michael Vick has apparently won the starting QB job
going forward. Kevin Kolb, who entered this season as the team's starting quarterback, will likely
be moved via a trade.
The 2011 NFL Draft won't take place until April. However, that doesn't stop football fans from
beginning the process of dreaming about which players their favorite team will select. That's
especially true for the football fans whose favorite team is watching the NFL playoffs on TV.
Here's our first crack at a 2011 NFL Mock Draft:
1.
WASHINGTON, DC D.C. United going to Baltimore? Not if real estate firm Akridge can help it. The
owners of the D.C. United soccer team have spent several years searching for a new soccer stadium
deal, including sites in the District, Virginia and Maryland. In the early 2000s, then Mayor
Anthony Williams sought to have [.
