Apparently 'Cat's Eye' is a film adapted from one of Stephen King's lesser works about a Warnock-faced troll that kills parrots and steals children's breath. It had Drew Barrymore and James Woods in it. I'm sure they can't remember it in the slightest.

Premier League managers are largely 'orrible, not to mention largely large. They only stop whingeing about the referee when they're whingeing about the linesman. Should their team collect silverware they are happy to take all the credit (stand up, Fergie), but should they flop it's because of the referee (grow up, Fergie), FA sabotage (shut up, Fergie), or the colour of the opposition shirts (bottoms up, Fergie).

They obviously can't be bothered, so neither can I. It was a positive line-up, but Utd never needed to get out of 1st gear. McLeish must be giving out his instructions in Russian or something because he's managed to make some very capable players look like they haven't the first clue what they're doing.

Emmanuel Adebayor helped himself to a first half brace, but should have had at least a hat-trick during a game that Tottenham barely had to break a sweat to dominate. In fairness, such was the gulf in quality, we should consider ourselves fortunate to have left with the score only 2-0.

There were rumours before kick off that Alex McLeish intended to field Alan Hutton as a right midfielder and Carlos Cuellar behind him at right back to deal with the threat of Gareth Bale and that's what he did.

Oh well how nice. The 140 or less characters tapped into social networking guru Joey Barton's keyboard on Sunday. You might have a point there, Joseph. Not too sure about his earlier efforts regarding Simon Cowell and the desire to see him swing outside parliament for giving jumped-up little indie twonks permission to defecate over The Clash back catalouge- probably a tad extreme- but he at least appears to have a good eye for footballing talent.

Venturing into the QPR forums, I find, as I always do in these opposition fan previews, a mix of optimism and realism. The optimists are pointing out that nobody expected they would beat Chelsea last week, the realists pointing out that nobody really expected Fulham to batter them 6-0 at the start of October either.

One of the more interesting pieces of Aston Villa news to emerge during the international break was the club's intention to include a clause in future contracts that would oblige players to live within 30 miles of Bodymoor Heath. Or at least have a base to use during what constitutes a "working week" for a Premier League footballer.
