Have to say the game this afternoon between Ireland and Wales was an absolute classic. It was a joy
to watch two brilliant teams go all out for the win
For the record I thought Wales deserved it but the brilliance of the win was tainted somewhat by a
really nasty spear-tackle in the second half.
The evidence suggests that Gary Speed could have accidentally ended his life. Which of course
makes it even more tragic. The Football Association of Wales announced his memorial match will be
played against Costa Rica on Feb 29th. Speed began his international career playing that Central
American country.
Kenny Dalglish believes Craig Bellamy must be handled carefully if he is to avoid another serious
injury.
The Wales striker is keen to play in every game he can, but the Liverpool boss feels a more
restrained approach is needed.
Bellamy has made just nine starts in all competitions this season, but has come off the bench 11
times.
Chris Coleman's appointment as Wales manager was a momentous day for the former Welsh
International aswell as been a sad day as he said himself the only reason he got the job he
relished most was because his best friend and former Welsh manager Gary Speed was no longer with
us.
However Coleman's appointment may go to the Courts after Greek side Larissa who Coleman resigned
from last week after claims his staff had not been paid for months.

Chris Coleman has been announced as the new manager of Wales, replacing Gary Speed who
tragically died a few months ago. Coleman stated that it was such a bittersweet emotion, becoming
Wales manager in such sad circumstances, but feels that he can continue much of the good work that
Gary had began.
Chris Coleman has been appointed the new manager of the Welsh national team.
An odd fact associated to the appointment of Chris Coleman is that in March 1994 Wales played
Norway in an friendly at Ninian Park. It was the solitary game in John Toshack's first spell as
Welsh manager (a spell that lasted for little more than a few weeks).
On the Gadsby's England roundup this week, Gary Cahill joining Chelsea—will this defensive
partnership with John Terry help England? Brendan Rogers says for the best England players, come
to...Wales! And who's in the running to be the next England manager?
Josh McEachran talks to Chelsea TV prior to leaving for Wales. I think he's going to have a
difficult time breaking into the side up there, but I have no doubt he can, and will, do the
business.
Good luck, son.
Wojciech Szczesny has apologised for a Twitter update in which he said team-mate Aaron Ramsey
looked "like a rapist". The 21-year-old was responding to a photo of Ramsey attending a golf event.
Clearly unimpressed with the Wales captain's appearance, he wrote: "I don't wanna be rude mate but
you look like a rapist on that [.

Finding a worthy replacement for Gary Speed was always going to be a tricky affair for the Welsh
FA, but according to team captain Aaron Ramsey, the suits haven't conducted the process properly at
all.
Ramsey has revealed that neither he nor any of his Wales teammates have been consulted over the
subject of a new boss, something that disappoints the Arsenal man.
Mark Hughes made his return to management this week, albeit not with the sort of club many expected
would tempt the former Wales manager – a struggling QPR. The 48-year old had been unemployed
since leaving Fulham last year, claiming at the time that he needed to be at a club that was
challenging for trophies – something that has made this decision a bit strange.
Merseyside club Liverpool are seriously considering a move for young Welshman and Celtic right-back
Adam Matthews and sources suggest the club are contemplating a bid for the 19 year old.
However Matthews has only just joined Celtic from Cardiff City and his performances have shown he
is a player that could make him one of the Celtic legends if he were to remain.
1. Wingers in Wales- As Wayne Routledge wheeled away in celebration after scoring Swansea's second
goal, Brendan Rodgers probably popped an Aspirin. For newly promoted sides selection dilemmas are
few and far between, making each individual one all...

A WINNER IN BRAZILIAN HEARTS SOCRATES
We were stuck in transit at an airport when the news broke that Brazilian football legend
Socrates passed away on Dec 4 and couldn't write a tribute to him in time. Many
football-loving fathers, brothers and grandads out there speak highly of this man whose legacy is
well-documented by the passion of the Brazilians.

This is a common saying about football in Arabic, and it has a lot of truth in it. When there is a
trusted keeper in the team, he gives the whole team the confidence and balance to go forward and
win. Spain is enjoying these days the fun of having the best keeper in the world. Everyone
remembers the great saves Casillas did in the WC final, or the PKs vs.
One of the more bizarre incidents of the weekend's action came from the clash between Reading and
West Ham. The Royals' Jimmy Kebe decided to rub salt into the Hammers' wounds with a bit of
sock-related showboating. The Mali international chose to highlight the amount of time he was
getting on the ball by pulling [.

Craig Bellamy made his debut for the Wales national team at the tender age of 18, which means he
got to train alongside Liverpool goalscoring legend Ian Rush, surely a dream come true for any
young player making taking their first steps in the game? However, in typically honest fashion,
Bellers has revealed that he wasn't impressed with Rushie's performance in training.

Fulham defender John Arne Riise insists that he has no hard feelings towards Liverpool striker
Craig Bellamy.
During Bellamy's previous stint at Anfield, he was alleged to have attacked left-back Riise with a
golf club. At the time, both players were understood to have been fined two weeks' wages by the
Merseyside club.
