"Praising John Terry for the win at the bridge is like awarding the Oscar for the
best dialogues to "CAST AWAY". Abstruse, incongruous, inaccurate and so totally
dumb."

According to an old drunkard, who i met yesterday, breaks are supposed to be used for
relaxation.
The vast majority of Liverpool fans are still right behind Rafa Benitez and rightly so. There is enough instability at the club with the owners and the debts, and the last thing we need
is to be looking for a new manager. One win in nine games isn't great but you don't turn into a bad manager overnight. Click to continue reading...
Hugo Lloris showed Liverpool fans why he is France's number one keeper. While the Reds poured on
the pressure he stood firm and made some brilliant saves early on against Kuyt, Torres, and
Voronin. It took a wonder-strike from Babel to finally beat him.
Centre Back: Lucio (Internazionale)
Lucio showed why he is rated so highly around Europe.
Anonymous said: I disagree about Babel. I'd much rather see him starting for Voronin rather than coming off the
bench. Then bring in Aqua at the 70 min mark. Voronin just looks a half step slow in everything he
does. At least Babel has the potential for moments of brilliance along with the
mistakes.

Now its not all doom and gloom and many will have you believe that we are sinking further into
the abyss but that would be a harsh assessment of the tough 90 minute assignment that so nearly
bore fruit.
Liverpool's hearts were broken by a cruel last-minute equaliser that has all but ended their
Champions League dreams for a traumatic season. The much-maligned Ryan Babel had scored a wonderful goal with just seven minutes left and if
Liverpool could have hung on to that lead they would still have had a realistic chance of reaching
the last 16. Click to continue reading...
With Franck Ribery out, Bayern has been struggling without his creativity. They lost to
Bordeaux, 0-2 in the CL and are almost out of contention to make the round of sixteen.
In the Bundesliga, Bayern are in sixth place with 19 points after five wins, four draws, and two
losses.

Liverpool face Lyon in the Champion's League tonight, but given the fact that Rafa has an injury
list longer than his arm; who do you think should play? The squad is as follows: Reina, Cavalieri,
Carragher, Ayala, Darby, Insua, Agger, Kyrgiakos, Kuyt, Lucas, Benayoun, Aquilani, Babel,
Mascherano, Spearing, Plessis, Ngog, Voronin, Torres. Click to continue reading...
"With and without the ball at the moment we're very on the ball." Frank Lampard has a ball after Chelsea's thumping of Bolton. "Jermaine is really generous - he bought me some Christian Louboutin shoes for

After today's bizarre defeat to Fulham which defies description, I have to take a look at the
Liverpool's injury list to explain things away. We were missing Danny Agger, Martin Skrtel, Alberto Aquilani and David Ngog to a virus, not the
swine-flu, but a virus nonetheless. We were also missing Captain Steven Gerrard to a groin injury, Glen Johnson to a calf injury and
Fernando Torres wasn't fully fit. Click to continue reading...

goals, and questionable substitutions. Click to continue reading...
Little to say after what promises to be one of the most surreal thirty minutes in recent
memory.
Chronologically:
-Torres off, Ryan Babel on. Apparently uninjured. Maybe with the midweek Champions League
fixture in mind...but after that first half stunner, tough pill to swallow.
kuyt, voronin, babel cost us the game. why? notone of them were good enough it shows what i have
been saying about kuyt, without sg and torres he is shown for what he is. a workhorse with a poor
first touch, and a player who needs 5 chances to score one. voronin was so poor [...] Click to continue reading...
I'd planned to write a full match report for the Arsenal vs Liverpool Carling Cup game I went to
last night, but there's not much to write. For a League Cup fixture it wasn't a bad game at all,
with two excellent goals and quality throughout. But most of the things I could write about either
side have been written plenty of times before. Click to continue reading...
Another fun night of Carling Cup action at the Grove saw Arsenal go through to the
quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Liverpool.
As expected the team was a mix of youth and experience. Nicklas Bendtner, Eduardo and Samir
Nasri got minutes under their belt to get themselves fit, at the back Senderos and Sylvester
provided a solid foundation while Lukasz Fabianski returned in goal.
Hello Gooners. Well that was close as well, just like the previous two games. Where was the 3-1
I predicted? As it turns out we didn't need that third goal.
You won't agree but for me Liverpool probably shaded it by virtue of the opportunities they
created.
Cavalieri Degen Skrtel Kyrgiakos Insua Spearing Plessis Kuyt Voronin Babel Ngog Goals: Merida 19' Insua 26' Bendtner 50' Any loss is disappointing, especially when the team's already lost six, but this one doesn't sting
too bad. Arsenal, with Nasri, Bendtner, and Eduardo in the line-up, didn't exactly play the Super
Teens, and probably deserved their victory. Click to continue reading...
Arsenal moved into the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup with a 2-1 win over Liverpool at the
Emirates Stadium.
There was plenty of attacking endeavour on show and the packed stands were treated to three
top-class goals. Fran Merida netted his first goal in Arsenal colours on 19 minutes, but his
excellent strike was cancelled out by an equalling good finish from Emiliano Insua six minutes
later. Click to continue reading...

There's been a lot of debate in the media regarding Rafael Benitez's position as manager as
Liverpool football club and we would like to know what you think? Should he be sacked? Liverpool have now lost 4 games in a row and are heading into a crunch derby game with Manchester
United at the weekend, with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres both struggling to be fit in time
for the match.
In 2005-06, Liverpool finished 3rd with 82 points, the highest total under Benitez until last
year's team. A year after the Champions League trophy and the season Liverpool won the FA Cup, it
looked to be the perfect launching point. But Liverpool couldn't finish higher in the next two
seasons and regressed points-wise, treading water before last year. Click to continue reading...
The boos that echoed round Anfield tolled the knell of Rafa Benitez' rapidly parting Liverpool
day. It was not just the defeat by Lyons that raised the spectre, more the angry reaction of many Reds
fans to the decision to replace Yossi Benayoun with Ukrainian flop Andriy Voronin. With Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson now joining Fernando Torres as major doubts for Sunday's make
or break home game with Manchester United, Benitez knows he is on the rack. Click to continue reading...
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez said his side must win their remaining three group games if the
five-time European champions are to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. A 2-1 home defeat by Olympique Lyon on Tuesday left Liverpool third in Group E after three games,
six points behind leaders Lyon and three behind second-placed Fiorentina. Click to continue reading...

Last night David Ngog was picked to start up front against Lyon in a crucial, let me repeat
crucial, Champions League tie. One we could ill afford to lose, hell a draw would have been
something, but to lose puts us in a whole heap of trouble.
I have no idea why Yossi Benayoun was substituted by Andriy Voronin. This has been Rafa's blind
spot this season - the easy dismissal of the one player who gives Liverpool its best chance at
crafting goals in the absence of Torres and Gerrard.
Also, the equalizer by Maxime Gonalons was achieved with 9 Liverpool players in the box who
milled around clueless as Reina fell third time unlucky.
If there is one thing clear at the moment, it is that Liverpool are in disarray and are on the
road to nowhere. After the Champions League loss to Lyon at home it is now time to surely question
Rafa Benitez's leadership as manager.
Without Gerrard and Torres we have seen Liverpool's true colors.
I'm extremely frustrated and very bitter at the moment, so I apologise if I keep this short. To
review: Liverpool lost the match; Benitez brought on Voronin for our best player of the night
(Benayoun); the zonal-marking was a joke; Gerrard went off with another injury inside the first 20
minutes. Did I mention we [. Click to continue reading...
It really pains me to write this, but it could soon be time for Rafa to step down as our manager.
With every passing game this season (no pun intended) it is getting harder to defend him or to see
where we as a team are making any progress at all. The team and just about all of the players seem stale. Click to continue reading...
