London (AFP) – Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen is set to join Fenerbahce on loan after failing to establish himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, the Turkish club said in a statement on Friday.

The Dutch forward, who joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar in July 2016, was left out of Spurs’ Champions League squad after the Londoners signed Fernando Llorente from Swansea.

We've done a little digging and it turns out new Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has quite the family sporting pedigree. His mum, Annemarie Verstappen, is a multiple Olympic medal-winning swimmer.

She won a silver and two bronze medals for freestyle swimming at the 1985 Los Angeles Olympics.

It had been rumbling on for weeks while AZ Alkmaar played hard ball over their prizedasset, but today Tottenham have finally secured the signing of striker Vincent Janssen for a fee of £17million.
