Luis Suarez's spell on the sidelines has come to a close.
Having served his eight-match ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra and a one-game suspension
for a gesture to Fulham fans, Suarez is set to return for Liverpool on Monday in its game against
Tottenham.

Barcelona saw their La Liga title aspirations take a serious hit after suffering a goalless draw
against Villarreal at El Madrigal on Saturday night.
Another road game, another setback.
It has been the same story all year long; with Barca now having dropped 13 points in league play
away from the Camp Nou this season.
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes says that his side cannot afford to drop any more points if
they are to successfully defend their La Liga title this season.

side Real Zaragoza while Barcelona's poor away form continued as they were held to a scoreless draw
at Villarreal.
Barcelona's Copa del Rey semi-finals win against Real Madrid has been tempered by a growing
injury list that will make their clash against Villarreal on Saturday harder.
Andres Iniesta and Alexis Sanchez both limped off in last night's 2-2 draw, which secured a 4-3
aggregate win.
That means Barca will head to El Madrigal missing six players in total, as David Villa, Ibrahim
Afellay and Andreu Fontas are already injured, while Seydou Keita is at the African Nations
Cup.

Villarreal's tiki-taka exhibition
15 passes in about 20 seconds? Barcelona may have mastered the art of tiki-taka, short one and
two-touch passing (normally formed in shifting triangles created by three footballers), but
Villarreal showed us this past weekend against Valencia that the likes of Borja Valero are on to
you, Xavi.

Football resumed in Spain after the short winter break, and it did not take long for the first

Together at the summit of the Premier League table, the thought of the last 32 of Europa League,
rather than the glamorous knockout stages of the Champions League, provides the stark contrast by
which Manchester City and Manchester United must define their seasons.

Adequate Provocation in the Heat of Passion is a legal phrase, used in the American court system to
mitigate a crime from murder in the first or second degree down to voluntary manslaughter. Why
bring this up now, in the context of writing about Napoli? Well, I confess, it's because I've been
having homicidal thoughts about some who don the azzurri kit.
Yes the Clasico was not the only game played in La Liga this weekend. Here is a review of the

Third placed Valencia looked to have the points wrapped up at Betis on Saturday, before two

This is simply brilliant. From Talksport:
Samir Nasri has hit back at critics of his mega-money move to Man City by blasting Arsenal for
failing to provide the Europa League football he craved.
Nasri, who was criticised by Arsenal fans and labelled a mercenary when he left for Man City in
the summer, feels vindicated following the 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich that helped Man City
finish ten points above Villarreal to qualify for the Europa League's last 32.

As you're well aware by now, Man City played some lovely football, scored a couple of beautul
goals and filed a decent victory over an already-through-and-therefore-decidedly-under-strength
Bayern Munich side in their final Champions League group game to take their final points tally to
10, which would've been enough to squeak through were it not for Napoli's 2-0 win over Villarreal
in Spain with the upshot of it all being that the Italian's went through with Bayern and City will
be playing Europa League football next year.

following the final round of matches this evening.
Three-time European champions Manchester United are out of this year's tournament having
suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Swiss champions FC Basle 1893. United only needed a point to progress

This is extraordinary. Just extraordinary. It's entirely possible that, with a group comprised
of Bayern, Napoli and Villarreal, Manchester City's first foray wouldn't go brilliantly. And it
didn't, dropping down to the 3rd spot below the Germans and Italians. (Villarreal finishing with a
big fat goose egg.
Tomorrow's encounter at the Etihad stadium will prove to be one of Manchester City's most important
in its recent history, needing a win against an already-through Bayern Munich side as winners of
Group A. Eyes in Manchester will also been on the Villarreal-Napoli tie where a Napoli win would
eliminate the Citizens from the competition.
The great Champions League escapes which Manchester City can draw inspiration

Roberto Mancini's men are set to face Bayern Munich but must rely on Villarreal to do them a
favour against Napoli if they are to progress in the unlikeliest of circumstances

After losing to Napoli during the week, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has claimed that
his side are not quite ready to win the Champions League.
Following the defeat in Italy, even those looking at the best casinos online will tell you that
City face an uphill battle to qualify for the knock-out stages.
With the top three all in action on Saturday, attention will switch to the fight for UEFA spots
and the struggle at the bottom on Sunday. Levant host Sporting, in-form Bilbao are at home to
