Glen Johnson's two-footed lunge near the end last night's victory again Manchester City has
provoked the ire of Roberto Mancini, and I can totally understand why. I agree with Mancini - it
was arguably worse than Vincent Kompany's tackle against Man United but, as per usual, Liverpool
fans, players and management will never admit it.
Liverpool loanee Joe Cole scored three goals for Lille on Saturday night as the Ligue 1 outfit
Lille beat Chantilly 6-0 to bok their place in the last 32 of the French Cup.Cole has been in great
form for Lille this season, and his goals came in the 22nd, 59th and 65th minute. The former Chelsea
man recently hinted that he could stay in France after his loan spell ends.
Liverpool hammered Oldham 5-1 in the FA Cup third round at Anfield last night, and despite the
regrettable Adeyemi incident, there were quite a few positives to take from the game, including
Andy Carroll breaking his 11-game scoring duck; Jonjo Shelvey scoring his first goal for the club;
Gerrard getting a goal and an assist, and Stewart Downing finally getting on the scoresheet.
Video footage of Rory Donnelly in action. Cliftonville Chairman Gerald Lawlor yesterday confirmed
that Liverpool are interested in signing promising young striker Rory DonnellySpeaking to the
Belfast Telegraph, Lawlor stated: "It's not every day you get Kenny Dalglish ringing you and asking
how the Reds got on at the weekend.
Things today that have some others worked into a tizzy, but that leave me saying, "Meh

In September, Liverpool fans watched in delight as former striker Fernando Torres hilariously
missed an open goal against Man United. At the time, it was the miss of the season (or indeed, of
any season!), but Torres's embarrassment has now been matched (if not surpassed) by Russian
midfielder Edgar Prib.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing Porto's Fernando Reges as a
replacement for the injured Lucas Leiva. Like most transfer rumours, it may just be baseless,
opportunistic 'speculation' (i.e. completely made-up), but Reges looks like just the type of player
Liverpool might need to cover the unfortunate Brazilian.
Jonjo Shelvey is on fire at the moment. The young midfielder scored 6 goals for Blackpool during
his recent loan spell, and after being called back to Liverpool by Kenny Dalglish (as cover for
Lucas Leiva) he scored two excellent goals for Liverpool Reserves in the 5-1 victory against Wigan
Reserves a few days ago.
By all accounts, Sebastian Coates is settling in well at Anfield, and the Uruguayan defender
recently scored his first goal for the club.
Coates struck against Sunderland in the Reserves' 5-1 thrashing of Sunderland on Tuesday, Much to
the delight of Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish:
"He [Coates] got his first goal which is great for him and great for us.
It's been an eventful week for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger! He's publicly labelled his Anfield
team-mates 'headless chickens'; questioned the commitment of hitherto unnamed members of the
Liverpool squad; helped Denmark qualify for Euro 2012; been questioned by the police after going on
a 'drunken riot' with Nicklas Bendtener, and to top it all off, he scored a fine goal against
Finland.
Liverpool legend Gary Gillespie has hailed the talent of Liverpool reserve-team striker Adam
Morgan, comparing him to goal-poacher extraordinaire John Aldridge.
Gillespie played alongside Aldridge in the 1980s, so he's well qualified to make such a lofty
comparison:
"I've likened him [Morgan] to John Aldridge more than anyone else I've seen.
Craig Bellamy showed Liverpool FC fans what they're missing with a superb solo goal against Norway
earlier today.
Bellamy, who is being kept out of the Liverpool team by the continually ineffective Stewart
Downing, picked up the ball in his own half and ran almost the full length of the field before
curling the ball into the top left corner.
The Italian manager continues to live in London after the sack from Chelsea, and the English press
continue to speculate on Ancelotti getting his foot in the door at another English Premier club,
perhaps even Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of U17 USA Captain Marc Pelosi from the DeAnza Force Club in
California.
The midfielder took part in this year's FIFA World Cup tournament in Mexico, and has scored 8 goals
in 28 games for the U17s against.
Frank McParland, Director of Liverpool FC's Academy, enthused:
"We're determined to identify the best possible talent globally and I'm delighted we've been able
to to bring Marc in to the club.
Liverpool loanee Jonjo Shelvey scored a hat-trick for Blackpool tonight as they demolished Leeds
5-0.
Shelvey has scored 5 goals and grabbed 1 assist in 6 games for for Blackpool now, which is a
brilliant return.
Meanwhile, 20m pound winger Stewart Downing hasn't managed a single goal or assist in 11 games for
Liverpool.
During Prime Minister's questions yesterday, Luciana Berger, Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree,
urged David Cameron to apologise for what she described as 'grossly offensive' comments about the
ongoing question for justice over the Hillsborough disaster.

Cameron is alleged to have compared the Hillsborough families' search for closure to a 'blind man,
in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there'.
Steven Gerrard scored a great free kick against Manchester United earlier as Liverpool were held at
Anfield.Charlie Adam made a great burst forward and was brought down by United's Rio Ferdinand, and
Gerrard scored from the resulting free kick. After the game, Ferdinand admitted that there was
actually contact, but he claimed it was not enough for Adam to go down.

One of the great things about Luis Suarez is his ultra-competitive streak and will to win, and it's
served Liverpool well since he arrived at Anfield. The Uruguayan's competitive nature is not just
reserved for opposition players though, as the following video shows. In the warm-up before the
Everton game on Saturday, Suarez positioned the ball in order to practice a free kick; a sprinkler
After Dirk Kuyt missed a penalty and Jack Rodwell was unfairly sent off, Liverpool went on to beat

half, but the introduction of Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy saw the team finally capitalise on
the one-man advantage.

In an entertaining, end-to-end game, Liverpool have beaten Wolves 2-1 at Anfield. The pressure was
on in the second half with a surprisingly good Wolves team pouring forward at speed for much of the
half, but Liverpool weathered the storm, and created 4 or 5 clear-cut chances along the way, which
is always encouraging.

Reports in Holland suggest the Liverpool are interested in Ajax central defender Jan Vertonghen.
The club definitely needs a new centre-back, and judging by the following video, it looks like the
Belgian is a quality player.Check out the brilliant piece of skill at 1:42 :-)Jaimie Kanwar<!
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler believes that Luis Suarez is 'perfect' for the number 7 shirt at
Liverpool, but argues that the Uruguayan striker can improve on his current goalscoring average. In
a recent interview, Fowler observed:"Suarez has been superb, and Kenny deserves a lot of credit for
backing his judgement on the player because the Dutch League isn't one of the strongest.
Liverpool's embarrassing 4-0 defeat at Spurs was hard to watch, and equally hard to take. Luckily,
the club very rarely suffers 4-0 defeats, so the probability of the same result happening again any
time soon is - thankfully - very low.Liverpool has lost 4-0 only nine times since Bill Shankly took
over in 1959, which is quite an impressive record:There's just something horrible about losing 4-0;
Fernando Torres finally broke his 23 game scoring drought yesterday at Old Trafford, but the
ecstacy quickly turned to agony for the former Liverpool striker, with a stunning miss that must
surely rank amongst the worst of all time. It's hard to understand how Torres missed this sitter:One
thing is for certain - Chelsea's 'slow' midfield had nothing to do with this howler.
Alberto Aquilani's impressive form for AC Milan continued last night with an excellent goal against
Napoli. Would Aquilani have made a difference against Spurs today?Who knows, but he's already got
two assists and a goal in two games for Milan, which is pretty good going. Not that I'm saying
Liverpool should've kept Aquilani, but would he have been any worse than Jordan Henderson today?
Here are a couple of videos showcasing the talents of Liverpool's newest centre-back, 6'6 Uruguayan
Sebastian Coates (pronounced co-ah-tez). It looks like Kenny Dalglish may have snapped up another
player with real potential for the future. If I was Daniel Agger or Martin Skrtel, I would be
nervously looking over my shoulder right about now.
Chelsea played against West Brom with Drogba on the bench again.Torres did not score

As you may be aware, Ronaldo played his final competitive game last night playing for the last
15 minutes of the first-half of Brazil's 1-0 friendly win over Romania in Sao Paulo.
Sadly, Ron didn't manage to grab the decisive goal (Fred had put Brazil a goal up before El
Fenomeno entered the fray), though he did manage to fluff two or three decent chances to extend the
lead during the brief period he spent on the pitch chances he would have buried in his prime.

(@Niccoloc if any of you are interested), I came upon a link to a movie trailer. What was
interesting was that this movie was Rise and Shine: The Jay DeMerit Story! I had no idea that the
Whitecaps FC captain had a movie about him coming out, and so I decided to do a little bit of
research (emphasis on the 'little').
