Interesting video analysis this one by former Arsenal and Barcelona striker and now TV pundit Thierry Henry, analysing his former coach Pep Guardiola's systems and tactics while the latter was in charge at the Nou Camp. Gives a glimpse into Guardiola's philosophies as a manager and into Barca's tactics when they played.

What separates a good coach from a great coach?

A coach can be considered good if he does one of two things. One: He looks at his squad and says, "Right then, these are my players. I will build a system to suit them." Then he creates a system, plugs in players, and off they go on a fine run of form.

Key Points:
  • Watch the runs of MILITO.

Inter Milan 2-1 Chelsea: A good or bad result?

A Chelsea Fans Blog for Chelsea Fans at related • 6 views
On paper coming away from giuseppe meazza in the 1st leg in Italy with an away goal losing 2-1 isn't such a bad result. Dominating possession, having over twice the amount of attempts on goal than they did, restricting Inter to just a couple of chances sand being denied a stone-wall penalty sounds like a good performance without the luck you need in this competition.

Video Analysis of Inter Milan's Strength and Weakness

A Chelsea Fans Blog for Chelsea Fans at related • 1 view
I have decided to do something a little bit different in preparation for our game at the San Siro tomorrow. I have studied the last 8 or so games that Inter Milan have played and have come up with what I believe is their strength but more importantly their weakness.

  • Milito's movement, Pace and Finishing
  • Quick on the counter attack
  • Get men forward to support front men down wings via full backs and midfield
  • Have height in numbers for set plays
  • Midfield plays too narrow
  • If lose possession, Midfield caught out of position
  • Midfield not too keen on tracking back when lose the ball
  • Midfield also do not pick up the late run into the box (Lampard)
  • Defence get caught ball watching too many times
  • Defence drop deep when being attacked to edge of own box
  • When being attacked on the break, lose their markers as get sucked to the ball
  • Naive at corners.

Huge news coming out of MLS HQ today, just days before the kick off of the 2012 season.

As we all know, in the past, MLS has not had the best reputation with regards to refereeing. In fact, some would call it downright abysmal. I'm one of those people. More so than anything else in the sport, I hate losing due to a shitty referee call.

Look, no excuses here, we need to take our medicine, we brought this defeat on ourselves by not pressing for a win or sufficiently holding what we had, but I want to quickly highlight an issue that we all know needs fixing.

I'm not advocating that we should do this kind of review during the game, obviously that would be a ridiculous disruption.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. For the of the early to mid-2000s, the Revolution was a talented, yet crafty team that relied on every advantage they could find. An intuitive front office. An experienced, well-connected technical staff. And, oh yeah, a flurry of fortuitous draft picks.

All of which gave rise to a run that saw them reach four MLS Cup finals in six years, despite the parity-heavy MLS competition structure.

Video analysis is an important piece of the evaluation process for a coaching staff, and is also an invaluable teaching tool.

In relation to the use of video, I always tell our players that 'you have what I thought, what you thought, and the truth...because video NEVER lies.'

The ability to show critical analysis of what went wrong in the previous match or training session, as well as areas of improvement from the previous week, is an invaluable way to help your players grow and develop.

Indeed, taking a look at their hotel game room, one can't help but notice that for every seemingly positive element, there is a distinctly negative one to go along with it.
