Morning all, welcome to the blog.
Well, Mile Sterjovski didn't feature for the Socceroos - which in a way is good news, because it
means he's injury free for Perth Glory. Seems like a selfish way of looking at things, but meh.
Meanwhile, congrats to the Kiwis for joining the party in South Africa - we couldn't dream about
going there without ya.

Morning all, welcome to the blog on this sleepy Saturday.
As we are coming nearer and nearer to the end of the Interlull (which, if anyone was wondering, is
a crass combination of international and lull) the news is starting to ramp up.
Of course, as most of you would be aware, coach Dave Mitchell held a presser yesterday as part of
Perth Glory's midseason review, which was nothing more than a normal presser.

So we are still midway through the interlull, but there is still a quite a bit of Perth Glory news
about town.
But before we get to that, just a bit of an update of what the Glory are up to this week.
First of all, FP just got word that the coach Dave Mitchell will be holding a press conference on
Friday as part of his "midseason review".

MORNING all. Perth Glory has another training session/presser combo today, with Glory coach Dave
Mitchell up on the media chopping block.
There's a little bit of pressure building with two succesive losess and two tough upcoming games
against Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix.
Also there's still some fans who aren't completely satisfied with DM's coaching style.

MORNING folks.
Yesterday FP had a chance to check out a bit of Perth Glory's training session and attend the
presser. Also made a couple of interesting observations while he was there.
Firstly, while club stalwart Jamie Harnwell is a few weeks away from recovering from his injury, he
had a bit of a run and looked pretty comfortable.

IT WAS bound to happen sooner or later. North Queensland Fury, with the wily Robbie Fowler, were
always going to get a win at home after weeks of impressive fighting football.
But without taking anything away from the Fury, Perth Glory will feel that they let a golden chance
for a win away from home went begging.

SO it's been a couple of days since Perth's win over Adelaide and as a result of some other
scorelines in the other games this weekend, the Glory find themselves in third place on the
ladder.
They are now unbeaten in their last 5 games (three wins and two draws).
Most of the pundits reckon the Glory were lucky to get the 1-0 victory over the Reds, and for the
most part they'd be right - though the Glory had a number of chances, particularly in the
first-half.

PERTH Glory goalkeeper Tando Velaphi put in a man-of-the-match performance to help the home side
defeat Adelaide United 1-0 at ME Bank Stadium on Friday Night.
Velaphi, who was heavily criticised for an error which cost his side a win last week, pulled off a
number of impressive saves to deny United in front of nearly 9,500 fans.

IT'S all a bit confusing. On one hand Perth Glory, after two successive away wins, are on top of
the ladder - something which has probably never happen in the four years of the A-League. On the
other hand the manner which those victories came were unpleasant.
No wonder some Glory fans are happy, while some are still discontented.

IF you would have told FP at Sunday 2:30pm, that the final score would be Perth Glory 2 – Gold
Coast 2, then he would have been over the moon.
But considering what actually happened, it's hard not to have a sour taste in your mouth.
If you're leading 2-0 at half-time, in front of your home fans, than surely you should be able to
win, eh?

GOLD Coast United have snatched a draw against Perth Glory, with New Zealand international Shane
Smeltz scoring in the dying minutes of the game.
With the clock ticking away, Brazilian midfielder Amaral gave away a free-kick which was quickly
taken and crossed into Smeltz who scored the equaliser and his 9th goal of the season.

FP is sick – but he's not exactly sure why.
Maybe it's the seemingly legit Manchester United T-Shirt (with Rooney on the back) his brother
received today which makes him wants to throw-up.
Or maybe it's the flu he's contracted at the start of spring, which has taken away his ability to
swallow.

RIGHTO, so FP is back again.
Having a cousin over from the 'Mother Country' coupled with writing a couple of articles for
various fanzines (more on that later) have left the blog a bit unattended.
But all is well, so lets get into some Perth Glory news.

YOU'VE got to love the short football week. It seem like yesterday the Glory faithful were gloating
over that 2-0 win over Newcastle, but now the next match is only two days away.
Hopefully this finds you well and not dripping in the anticipation of the imminent return of
Perth's favourite misbehaving son Ben Cousins.

THERE should be some sort of celebration on a Friday. You know like balloons or mini-fireworks to
usher in the weekend.
We're also only a couple of days away from the first Perth Glory home game of the season against
the Newcastle Jets (a bit on this later on).

IS the weather starting to reflect the feeling among the Perth Glory faithful? It's only two games
into the season and the general fan is starting to feel like this has happened all before.
Some of the fans are already sharpening their axes and pitchforks and the fan pressure is slowly
building on the Football Hooligan - Dave Mitchell - to get a win.

CONSIDERING there really isn't much going on with Perth Glory today, Football Perth (FP) thought
he'd write a personal post today.
It doesn't happen often - in fact very rarely - because FP hates to do it. It's something that he
picked up long ago at a newspaper far away from an old editor.

WEST AUSTRALIA'S Sunday newspaper has picked it's first team for Perth Glory and surprisingly
leading goal scorer Eugene Dadi can only make it onto the bench.
The Glory have recruited heavily over the off-season and have secured the services of five new
players including Socceroos Jacob Burns and Mile Sterjovski, former Perth Glory goalkeeper Aleks
Vrteski, former Bundesliga striker Branko Jelic, and former Derby County defender Andy Todd (for a

TWO key players for Perth Glory could miss the much-anticipated friendlies with Wolverhampton
Wolves and Fulham in July.
Winger Victor Sikora has been ruled out for three weeks after undergoing minor surgery while there
are visa problems for newly-signed striker Branko Jelic.
According to the club, Sikora had the surgery to remove a small piece of debris floating in his
knee in order to be fully fit for the upcoming A-League season.
