The old Empire Stadium in Vancouver.
Here's some interesting news about Vancouver's expansion bid that most may not know of yet. They
will have to play in two different stadiums in their first year in Major League Soccer in 2011. The
Vancouver Sun is reporting today that due to the renovations to BC Place the expansion Whitecaps
(or whatever they will be called) will also play an unknown number of home games at a temporary

The biggest discussion this week without a doubt has been on MLS expansion, and even further MLS
expansion in Canada. I think had the All-Star game not been in Toronto this year we wouldn't be
discussing this as much in length but here we are, the possibilities seem to be there for more
Canadian teams [.

Some reports out of Canada today are suggesting that MLS Commissioner Don Garber is raising the
expansion ceiling a bit. Yeah, a good bit if you buy into these TSN reports. I know the league
wants another Canadian team in a few years but seeing these kind of expansion numbers just don't
add up right [.

Yup, while some sites believe that MLS Commissioner Don Garber is going to announce something today
about possible expansion to another city in Canada, I have received word that in his press
conference he said nothing has changed in the league's expansion plans. "We're in no rush to
expand at this time," said Garber.

This really is no joke folks. A possible expansion club in the Canadian capital in the cards for
Major League Soccer? According to this article (in French), MLS officials have recently been in
expansion talks with owners of NHL's Ottawa Senators about a possible club. Not a whole lot of meat
from the article to translate [.
