Why is our game governed by morons/Eduardo reaction/List of diving players

The Goon Blog - an Arsenal blog. 28 August @ 03:49 PM EST

I'm back ladies and gentlefolk. There have been some cock-ups over the past few days with Aamir's posts and I have been unable to correct anything because I've had no access. Apologies for that.

By the way, thanks Aamir for filling in over the past few days.

Now, onto the main story this week; we scored another three goals to secure our passage through to the Champions League group stages Eduardo has become somewhat of a hate figure in the press (see the headline) for diving to win a penalty.

Bundesliga new boys put Bayern in the spotlight

SoccerLens 27 August @ 03:27 AM EST

I would have thought that Franck Ribery and Franz Beckenbauer now finally agree on something. The French sensation should have been sold. Der Kaiser has watched new manager Louis van Gaal take a measly 2 points from his first 3 matches, and, following this weekend, the kings of German football are sat in a rather peasant-like 14th in the Bundesliga.

Kinhöfer pulls an Øvrebø as Bayern Dusel returns

The Offside: Bundesliga 13 May @ 01:09 AM EST

Bayern eventually overcome Klinsmann's bad karma with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Leverkusen and with referee Thorsten Kinhöfer still confused about what constitutes a penalty nowadays following the Champions League semis.

Had Klinsmann been still in charge, Bayern would have played poorly and van Buyten and Demichelis would have conceded a penalty each.

All About F C Barcelona 15 April @ 01:04 AM EST
FC Barcelona set up a semi final show down with Chelsea in this year's Champions League with a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich. Frank Ribery put Bayern in the lead early in the second half but a stunning strike from Keita kept Barca's unbeaten streak intact. Barca already had the match in bag after a 4-0 crushing of Bayern at home but they still need to see off this leg and they did it brilliantly. Click to continue reading...

Round 3 Review

Bundesliga Talk 28 August @ 11:53 PM EST
Bochum 2 – 1 Hamburg
B: Sestak (45) Imhof (83)
H: van der Vaart (pen 86)
Hamburg failed to finish their chances again. This time they were punished for their failure by a resolute Bochum side. While the tempo of the game was dictated by Hamburg, who owned possession at 61%, it was a late first half injury time goal from newcomer Stanslav Sestak, who mopped a poor challenge by Nigel de Jong, which opened the scoring in this affair.
