(video gol) Calcio, Europa League: Slavia Praga-Valencia 2-2. Spagnoli spreconi. Janda-Grajciar, orgoglio ceco

Spanish star puts United on red alert

Premiership Talk Blog 29 October @ 08:05 AM EST

Valencia's David Villa has put Manchester United and Liverpool on red alert as he fired his agent, Jose Luis Tamargo. Tamargo has reportedly been sacked for his inability to secure a summer transfer away from Valencia, and Villa has a long list of suitors, including England's giants.

Real Madrid and Barcelona were strongly linked for a move for the 27 year old over the summer following his sensational form for Spain, but with the two Spanish clubs since wrapping up deals for other star strikers (Benzema for Real and Ibrahimovic for Barca), a move to England is on the cards for Villa.

Patrice Evra has told reporters of the pain that him and his United teammates are feeling following their 2-0 loss to rivals Liverpool. United were defeated by a Fernando Torres goal, and a late David N'gog goal added salt to United's wounds.

Report Card: Ballon d’Or Nominations

Premiership Talk Blog 19 October @ 09:36 AM EST

With the Ballon d'Or nominations finally releasing this weekend, the headlines have mostly been devoted to the fact that world champions Italy have no representation whatsoever. But why blame the press for paying excessive attention to an irrelevant detail? After all, the award itself is destined to be heading Lionel Messi's way, which means very little is there to be talked about in terms of debating the winner, right?
