Corinthians continued to show good form in the Copa Santander Libertadores. The Paulistas beat Independiente-Medellin (Colombia) by 1x0 with an own goal from Valencia. Ronaldo was spared to catch up on his physical training and lose his disgraceful extra kilos.

The club played in a packed Pacaembu to remain top of their group and of the general Libertadores ranking, allowing it to decide all the 2nd legs of their subsequent ties in their home ground.

Despite being reigning Brazilian champions, Flamengo and their monster domestic strike force of Adriano and Vagner Love aren't going through the smoothest of patches. Adriano is still fat, still drunk, still dating crazy people and still not showing up for training. Which is fine so long as he sells shirts, fills seats and scores goals [.

While Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Inter and Goias gave another display of loss of steam, the two sides pocketed the three points in very important matches.
