After another frustrating draw at Anfield, this time against Spurs, Liverpool had to settle for a scoreless draw with the Londoners.
Despite taking the game to 3rd placed Tottenham, Liverpool failed to break down a stubborn defence in which Dawson, King and Parker at times excelled at repelling everything Liverpool threw at them.

The first half was as dull and dragging as the Utd vs Arsenal match. The second half was just the opposite - a high voltage pulsating encounter between 1st placed City and 3rd placed Spurs. Roberto Mancini's squad went ahead in the second half through Samir Nasri and Joleon Lescott, both goals within minutes of each other.

Sunderland continued the theme of the underdogs upsetting the favourites this weekend as they stunned City at the Stadium of Light with as Ji Dong-won's last second goal. Clearly offside. But the Black Cats won't be complaining. And it was a lovely bit of skill by the South Korean as he slalomed around Joe Hart to caress the ball into an open goal.

Halloween came early to Old Trafford

City fans would like nothing more than Sunday's humiliation of Utd to signal a shift in the balance of power. Pundits are already debating its merits. 6-1 is a historic statement and the margin could have been even larger if Edin Dzeko had been on target in his first few attempts.

Unable to make the trip to Parkgate, I decided to go to the Pickering Town v Stavely Miners Welfare game at a sunny Pickering FC.
The sun may have been shining, but it was the only thing to shine as this was a dour game of football played out by two mediocre teams with little passing ability.

After this afternoon's draw with Utd at Anfield, it has emerged tonight that Louis Suarez is likely to face an FA inquiry into his altercations with Patrice Evra.

The FA have announced that the oldest cup competition in the known universe, the FA Cup, is to undergo a bit of a technological revamp as of 2011/12 (this Friday night to be specific) with Ascot United's preliminary cup tie against Wembley FC set to be streamed live on Facebook.

The Daily Mail reports that Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed Arsenal's interest in Jadson and have left his future in his hands.

Mircea Lucescu, head coach of the Ukrainian champions:

" I can confirm Jadson is wanted by Arsenal,' said Lucescu. 'Now it all depends on him.

According to several tabloids and not so tabloids, the Inter midfielder might be on his way to Old Trafford in the next 48 hours.
