In the latest installment of the Philly Soccer Show Podcast, KYW's Greg Orlandini is joined by
Philly Soccer Page writers Adam Cann and Eli Pearlman-Storch to discuss the Expansion Draft, the
MLS Cup and the recent USMNT friendlies against France and Slovenia.
In part one, the topic is the Expansion Draft.
Jürgen Klinsmann's winless streak as USA Men's National Soccer team manager continued into his
third match in charge when his team feel 1-0 to Belgium in an international friendly in Brussels on
Tuesday. The loss follows a 1-1 tie with Mexico and a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica in the USA's previous
two matches under [.

The USA Men's national team held an open training session for fans yesterday at the Home Depot
Center, where fans were treated to news that under newly appointed coach, Jürgen Klinsmann, every
home game would include an open training session for fans to attend.
STARTERSThere is still no agreement between players and Spain's Primera over a new collective bargaining
agreement, so you can expect the players to go on strike and boycott this weekend's first round of
games.

Jürgen Klinsmann named new USA coach | Football | guardian.co.uk.
As I failed to predict, German coach Jurgen Klinsmann was announced today as the
successor to Bob Bradley as coach of the USA Men's National team. His official unveiling is at a
press conference on Monday, and hopefully, with his record, it should herald a new era for a squad
which has failed to impress since the Confederations Cup success two years ago.
The USA Men's National Team coaching spot is vacant.
WOW!
Overdue in my opinion. Our play at the Gold Cup was terrible.
Give me KLINSMANN!
When I actually get moving on an update for Soccer Soap Box there is generally an uncanny
intersection of an interesting topic related to the New England Revolution or US Soccer, personal
time to write and the hope that I have something interesting to add to the discussion.
Clearly there have been interesting topics lately.
I saw this ESPN special over the weekend. Every year they do a special where they get kids who
do a "Make a Wish" with a professional athlete or a team. This one centers around Landon Donovan.
A young kid fighting off Leukemia finds inspiration in the USA Men's National Team and World Cup
hero Donovan.
On Monday afternoon we tweeted about the fantastic overnight ratings for the USA/Brazil match on
Sunday. The game drew a 2.6 rating, the highest figure since the 1999 Final. That entire
tournament was based in the United States and had been heavily promoted by a wide array of media
outlets including ESPN.
STARTERSOguchi Onyewu has officially signed with Sporting of Lisbon Portugal. Its a 3 year deal.
-They have two veteran starting centerback on the roster already, so he will have to beat them out
for a starting spot.
STORY OF THE DAYThere is a storm brewing among supporters of the USA men's national team about the way they were
treated last Saturday night at the Rose Bowl.
With CONCACAF's two most popular teams both playing in Wednesday's Gold Cup semifinals at
Houston's Reliant Stadium, it should come as little surprise that tickets are pretty hard to come
by. The game is already sold out, so that is going to make it pretty hard to find tickets at face
value.
But if you're willing to pay a premium -- unfortunately about a 300 percent mark up -- you can
still find tickets for less than a $100 through the Dynamo Theory Ticket Center.
The Sons of Ben and Philadelphia Union have butted heads on profanity in chants a couple times
this year, but the front office of the team did not go anywhere near where the New England
Revolution went with their own supporters groups on Saturday.
Words from the Union came after the use of the popular USA men's national team supporters "You
Suck, ***hole" chant was loudly heard on ESPN, CSN and abc6, along with throughout the stadium
earlier this season.
