In Kano, Nigeria, the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team fell in their opening round match against Spain
2-1, despite an early red card to Spanish defender Sergi Gomez and a Jack McInerney strike in the
fourth minute. Spain managed to take the lead with two counter-attacking goals in the 22nd and 30th
minutes.

The U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team was eliminated from the FIFA U-20 World Cup this afternoon
after the final group matches were completed in Egypt. The U.S. finished as the 17th place team in
the tournament, one place shy of the Round of 16.

The German U-20 national team easily defeated their American counterparts 3-0 in the first match
for both teams at the FIFA World Cup in Egypt Saturday.
The U.S. started auspiciously, with sloppy defensive errors, briefly regained their balance then
gave up a penalty kick that was easily converted by Semih Aydilek.
