But it was not to be, as Lisandro Lopez capitalized on some poor Liverpool defending to snatch a 1-1 draw that sealed Lyon's passage to the knockout stage.

Fiorentina shocked visiting Liverpool 2-0, both goals coming from Stevan Jovetic. It was the Reds first away-loss in 16 months. Lyon picked up a huge win on the road, 4-0 at Debrecen. Three goals came in the first 24 minutes.
