Copa Sudamericana reached the semifinals, two Brazilian clubs had the chance to be in the final
4. However, only Fluminense did so. Flu visited Universidad de Chile and one more time relied on
Fred. The ex-Lyon seems to be playing for all the matches he did nothing since the beginning of the
year.

The two Brazilian clubs still in the Copa Sudamericana did not start well the quarter-finals of
Copa Sudamericana. Botafogo and Fluminense will have a lot of work if they plan to advance to the
semis. Botafogo visited Cerro Porteno in Paraguay and lost 2-1. Reinaldo scored for Bota, but if
the club from Rio wants to advance, it must win at Maracana.

In the opening leg of the round of 16, Brazilian clubs showed how much this tournament is of
interest. Out of the 5 clubs, just one, Botafogo, won. Playing as visitors, Vitoria and Goias had
defeats which are not likely to be reversed in Brazil. Fluminense visited the second the last side
of the Peruvian league, and just tied (well, just look where Flu is in the Brasileirao too.

Not the sort of first aid you want Universidad de Chile striker Juan Manuel Olivera was having one
of those days on Thursday. He was knocked unconscious during the game against O'Higgins after a
clash with opposition goalkeeper Jorge Rivera. The Uruguayan striker was taken to a nearby clinic
and regained consciousness during the journey.

Universidad de Chile striker Juan Manuel Olivera is recovering after he was knocked out during a
match and then the ambulance taking him to hospital crashed.
"It was a tragicomic situation," team doctor Patrico Delgado told Radio Cooperativa.
"He was a bit shocked at first but he has taken it all with a dose of humour.

Hacía mucho que no escuchaba nombrar a otro equipo campeón que no fuera en Colo Colo, pero hoy
nos hemos podido enterar que La Universidad de Chile es el nuevo campeón del
Torneo de Apertura 2009 de la República de Chile.
Dicha consagración se consiguió al vencer a la Unión Española por marcador
global de dos goles contra uno, siendo el partido de vuelta el decisivo y con

Cruzeiro will have the easy matches while Sport, Palmeiras and Sao Paulo got the toughest
opponents.
Gremio will take on San Martin from Peru. And Cruzeiro faces Universidad de Chile.

A sólo tres días del Superclásico contra Universidad de Chile, el argentino Marcelo Barticciotto
presentó su renuncia como entrenador del Colo Colo, según reveló un directivo del equipo
