Audit and financial advisory firm Deloite & Touche released it's football money league rich list
yesterday with La Liga club Real Madrid topping the list for a seventh successive year. Closing
following Madrid in second was fellow Spanish club Barcelona.
United came in third on the list, however, it is the dominance of English clubs in the top ten
that has got people really talking.
Keeping up with the many moves that have taken place with regards to D.C. United's roster over the
last couple of weeks is no small task. Each day it seems as if United are releasing another press
release regarding a new player signing or the release of a player. Instead of posting each
individual press release here is a recap of the roster moves from the past week up to today.
Official D.C. United Press Release:
D.C. United acquires forward Hamdi Salihi as Designated Player
28-year old Albanian international has scored 163 goals in 289 professional matches
Washington, D.C. (February 2, 2012) – D.C. United announced today the club has signed 28-year old
forward Hamdi Salihi as a Designated Player.
The President of Rwanda wants his buddy Arsene to step down? Robin van Persie is furious with
Arsene...Or is he? And, does Real Madrid really want Arsene?
It's been quite an interesting week for the Arsenal so far. If you haven't been following the
news as much as I have, allow me to illuminate you.
On Sunday, January 22, 2012, Manchester United will take the pitch against Arsenal at the
Emirates. Cognizant of the simple fact that Manchester United handed Arsenal an 8-2 loss that is
counted amongst the very worst in a period of 100 years, no one is giving much reason to believe
that the Gunners have a chance against the Red Devils.
Tomorrow sees the return of the Premier Academy League as United take on Bolton at Carrington in an
11am kickoff. These sides met in early November in what proved to be a enjoyable game between two
teams so far struggling for consistency this season. The match ended in a 2-1 win for United with
goals [.
Craven Cottage has been a difficult ground for Manchester United through the years, with only 1
point from 9 during the Reds' last three visits there. If that is not bad enough, United had
conceded 7 goals from those three games, which is painful reading for a team that puts a lot of
emphasis on [...
Manchester United's victory against Wolves saw the club manage to score more than 3 goals in a
single game for the first time since visiting The Reebok in early September. After possibly one of
the hardest weeks in Sir Alex's career, he must be overjoyed to see his players play with the
swagger and determination [.

Champions League [.
"Thursday nights, Channel 5!" was a chant designed by Manchester United fans when Liverpool failed
to get a top four spot in 2010, but expect it to be heard more often the next few months. United's
loss to Basel was excruciating, humiliating, and painful. Memories of Benfica and the failings of
the 2005/06 season were [.
Another Premier League game, another 1-0 win. For the 7th consecutive Premier League game, United
scored only one goal against their opposition. But following our horrendous defensive performances
at the start of the season, who would have thought that the single goal would be enough to win 4 of
those games?
Three days since Sir Alex Ferguson's midweek remorse, Phil Jones opened his account for Manchester
United scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory at Villa Park, much to the delight of the boss
himself. Ater the shocking display against Palace on wednesday night and with City putting 5 past
Norwich earlier in the day, [.
"How did Manchester United not win this game?" is the question on everyone's lips after an amazing
1-1 draw at Old Trafford between the Red Devils and the Geordies from Tyneside. United created tons
of chances, with everything from a great goalkeeper and posts, to miraculous goal-line clearances
keeping them at bay.
In a wind and rain affected 90 minutes at Carrington today, Liverpool stole the points in the first
and last minutes to grab a second win in just six weeks over United's improving youngsters. The
minutes in between saw United ride their luck and spurn opportunities in equal measure. Jack Dunn
was Liverpool's match-winner with [.
In this week's review section, we congratulate the new MLS champions LA Galaxy, while we also
feature the poor results of the two Manchester clubs in Europe.
Saturday sees Manchester United take on Newcastle United at the world renowned, historically named,
never to be sold for naming rights, Old Trafford the Theatre of Dreams. Just for good measure it
hosts the match at the traditional but somewhat unfamiliar time of 3pm and it could trigger a shift
in the Premier League Betting odds.
In all honesty, it is not often I can look back on a Manchester United draw in satisfaction.
However, following a couple of weeks where attacking play seems like a taboo, United fans
anticipated a strong offensive performance when Benfica visited Old Trafford for their Champions
League crunch match. After the Derby Day slaughtering at [.
The Academy have won all four of their last four outings (including two friendlies in Slovakia) and
they will no doubt be hoping to continue that run of results when they host West Bromich Albion's
Academy at Carrington tomorrow morning. West Brom are one position below United in the Premier
Academy League and were beaten 4-2 last [.
When we are faced with writing a "best of" list, we always tend to mention things that are fresher
in our memory, which is why having to write about United's best 10 left midfielders ever has proved
a lot trickier than I had initially thought. This is largely due to the fact that, in 24 [...]
On the weekend of Sir Alex Ferguson's 25th Anniversary, United's academy travelled to Bolton
Wanderers and returned with a slender 2-1 victory. In Sir Alex's twenty five year career, he's
given a first team debut to an incredible 79 teenagers. It's impossible to accurately predict which
of the current crop of boys will go on [.
Danny Welbeck's deflected header was enough for United to claim u3 points against Sunderland but
the day belonged to Sir Alex Ferguson. Old Trafford welcomed Fergie in style today, with a new
banner unfolded on the Stretford End listing all the trophies won in the 25 years and the crowd
belting out a loud "Every [.
Two weeks ago United took on Crewe and got themselves back to winning ways (4-1) before they
travelled off on their annual team building and strength-testing trip to Slovakia. Goals from
Januzaj, Barmby, van Velzen and Rudge were enough to cement what was a much improved performance by
the Academy and also gave us a chance [.
Manchester United are top of group C in the Champions League, after goals from Antonio Valencia and
Wayne Rooney secured a 2-0 win at Old Trafford. It was a largely uninspiring performance by
Fergie's men and, with the greatest respect for Galati, against a slightly better organized United
could have paid the price for their [.
Javier Hernandez scored the only goal as United clung on to claim three points at Goodison Park, in
a hard-fought Premier League encounter. A week after being battered by City in the derby, United
got back to winning ways, thanks to a smash and grab win. Everton-United matches are always feisty
affairs and have produced [.
Manchester United are through to the quarter finals of the Carling Cup after a 3-0 win at
Aldershot. Two days after suffering one of the most humiliating defeats in their history, United
made a first step towards recovery by disposing of the League 2 outfit. A lot has been said, and
will no doubt be [.
Never in my wildest nightmares, never ever did I expect this. And yet it happened. Last night I
played a match between Manchester United and Manchester City with FIFA 12 on my XBOX 360 as a
precursor to the real deal which would be happening just 12 hours later UK time. I like to play

United's unbeaten record at home came to an end in incredible fashion as a second half collapse saw
them conceding 5 goals. For the last couple of seasons this fixture has been surrounded by an
ever-growing hype and this year was no exception. City and United went into the game 1st and 2nd
respectively both [.
Arsene Wenger understands that it has been difficult for all the new Arsenal players coming in to
handle the great expectations immediately placed on them while they were still settling in, but he
now feels that the squad have the "mental strength" to deal with the criticism. "Football is
difficult if you are not united," [.
Wayne Rooney scored two second half penalties as 10 men United got their European campaign back on
track with a hard fought three points against Otelul Galati. Much was made of Sir Alex's team
selection against Liverpool on Saturday, and on a day when Mancunian legends Stone Rose announced
their comeback, the United manager [.

Four defeats on the spin, and beaten by two of our closest rivals along the way, might suggest it's
time for the Academy to panic, but hold on, not so fast. There were many positives on Friday and
the 2-1 defeat away to Liverpool in no way tells the whole story of this competitive, exciting
[...]
Well it wasn't a classic that's for sure. These days it has become apparent to me that waking up at
4:30 Pacific Standard Time to watch my beloved Manchester United is the action of stupid man not
interested in his health and sleeping pattern. Frankly, the past few years has taught me to expect
a [..
