While his club are urging him to, there is still a fair old wodge of uncertainty as to whether
Anton Ferdinand will shake John Terry's hand before QPR's FA Cup tie against Chelsea at Loftus Road
on Saturday.
As you will be all-too-well aware by now, Terry is due to attend a hearing at West London
magistrates court four days after the match on charges of racially abusing Ferdinand after
referring to the QPR centre-half as a 'farting black klutz' or something similar when the two sides
met in the Premier League back on October 23rd of last year.

With the SuperDraft behind us, thoughts now turn to the nitty-gritty of the 2012 Union season.
Naturally, questions arise. Over a two-part series we pose ten questions to our Union beat
reporter, Eli Pearlman-Storch, beginning in part 1 with a focus on formation, roster depth and
leadership roles within the starting XI.
Liverpool are now concentrating their efforts on financing a new stadium in Stanley Park, where
they have planning permission, rather than redevelop Anfield.
American owners Fenway Sports Group had been keen to renovate the current ground like they did at
their baseball franchise, the Boston Red Sox.
The 2011 season grades forge ever onward! Corey, Matty, and I have looked at the four major
areas of the team - goalkeeping, defense, midfield, forwards - and assigned our grades on a 4.0
scale.
Unfortunately for the New England Revolution, we don't curve based on the rest of the
league.
Without further ado, here are our grades for the Revolution midfield, which was strong on paper
but still performed below expectations.
The most vocal of football agents Oleg Artemov has been touting his client Roman Pavlyuchenko
around this week with Anzi the latest Russian club to be linked with the striker.
"At the beginning, Roman absolutely ignored Anzhi," Artemov told the Russian press.
"He wasn't against going back to Russia, but not to the Makhachkala-based team, but Pavlyuchenko
is tired of the uncertainty and the lack of match action.
Martinez and Dalglish agree – there's more to Liverpool than Suarez
THE FESTIVE fixture list continues for Liverpool tomorrow night at the DW Stadium when Kenny
Dalglish's side take on Roberto Martinez's Wigan Athletic. Kenny has almost a full-strength squad
at his disposal but there won't be a return – for now at least – for Steven Gerrard.
14. D.C. UNITED
The most successful franchise in the early years of MLS has struggled mightily to find a better
stadium situation than it currently has at RFK, and the ongoing frustrations in the nation's
capital have caused United to consider perhaps moving to Baltimore. Out-of-town owner Will Chang
may or may not be committed for the long haul, and the club is trying to start over from scratch on
the field under coach Ben Olsen.
Having faced uncertainty about its future in recent weeks and months, WPS appears to have
avoided doomsday. At least for now.
WPS reportedly received conditional Division 1 sanctioning for 2012 from U.S. Soccer's board of
directors on Monday evening despite it only having five teams and the minimum for Division I status
typically being eight.
Following the big win on Saturday at Lazio, there has been a lot of talk about game winner Simone
Pepe. A year ago there was a giant question mark in the minds of Juventini about the arrival of the
Italian international on loan from Udinese. His career prior to Juventus had been one of
uncertainty, as the winger had bounced around for most of his youth until finally stringing a few
years together.
We are back to the betting uncertainty of domestic football, and it is truly back in style with
seventeen games from across Europe across Sky, ESPN and the BBC. I personally will be taking
advantage by setting up an Everest Base Camp style den on my sofa. The first bet takes into account

Spurs legend Gary Mabbutt has been talking about some of the latest Premiership news recently
and when he spoke to Absolute Radio last week, our former FA Cup winning captain took the time to
focus on his old club.
Mabbs played in virtually every position in his time at Spurs but eventually settled down to
command a regular position at the heart of the defence and it was the current centre half situation
at Spurs that caught his attention,
"I couldn't believe at the end we didn't go for Cahill," Gary said.
Greg Nwokolo has been one of the most highly sought after players this transfer window. The Persija
wideman has been impressive in his last two campaigns with the Kemayoran Tigers, with a spell in
Portugal sandwiched inbetween.
However given the uncertainty surrounding Persija ahead of the new season players have been jumping
ship all summer and Nwokolo is just the latest in a long line to move.

HARRISON, N.J. -- The more U.S. national team defender Timmy Chandler plays at left back, the
more it looks like the long search for a dependable option at the position has come to an end.
Although much of the world's football activity has moved towards the internationals, Arsenal
continue to make headlines on the domestic front, with uncertainty over the future of the captain's
armband causing more unrest at the Emirates Stadium.
In the aftermath of the Gunners' 2-1 derby day defeat to the Spurs on Sunday, goalkeeper
Wojciech Szczesny told reporters that one day, he is looking forward to the day he assumes the
club's captaincy and also hinted at a future move to Barcelona if the opportunity arises.
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits that an opportunity to join reigning European
champions FC Barcelona at a later stage of his career will be too tempting to turn down.
The 21-year old Szczesny rose to prominence for the Gunners when Polish compatriot Lukasz
Fabianski was sidelined by a shoulder injury in the middle of last season.
Frank Lampard has expressed his eagerness at regaining his starting role at Chelsea but
acknowledges that he can only keep fighting for his place.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas bashed the media for scrutinizing his exclusion of Lampard from the
team's starting XI in recent fixtures and when the veteran midfielder returned with a bang against
Valencia last night, he made a strong case for featuring regularly again.
As Group D of the CONCACAF Champions League settles in it has become quite clear that the
Seattle Sounders learned quite a bit from last year's dreary international journey. They travel
differently, stopping in Dallas on the way south now. They play differently, taking advantage of
different defensive styles of Latin ball.
Hands up. Who would have taken a draw before the game? So 1-1 away to Borussia Dortmund in the
opening Champions League group game last night is a decent result for the Arsenal I say. RVP scored
a great goal to give the Gunners the lead before a last-gasp wonder strike from substitute Ivan
Perisic denied us three points.
Spurs are off and running. The rest have two games start but at least we are in the race. The
season starts here.
Just as this new season had worked up a head of steam with the window closing, plenty of
interest in how new arrivals and reinforced squads would fare, cracking football and lots of goals,
the international break brought everything to a grinding halt.
New signing Chu Young Park is stuck in Paris awaiting a visa would you believe, but boss Arsene
Wenger is confident all of the necessary paperwork will be completed in time, and if it is Park may
feature against Swansea tomorrow. Speaking to the press today Wenger said, "We have an uncertainty
still with the [.

The France international team manager Laurent Blanc is unlikely to pick Samir Nasri for next weeks

where he will be playing next season is also causing him problems on the pitch. Nasri's form

It's the day of the annual Supporters Direct Conference in Chester, and one issue seems likely
too hang over the day's festivities like a black cloud: funding. Now is probably not the time to
rehash the events of last month, but it is worth reflecting upon the uncertainty that continues to
envelop the organisation.

Walton MP Steve Rotheram has warned that Liverpool FC's delays in deciding to stay at Anfield or
move to a new stadium is causing tensions in the local community.
The Labour MP, who is also a Reds season ticket holder, is in the process of arranging a meeting
with the club to discuss the situation.
Jason and Jared are ready to move on from the disappointment of the Gold Cup and the uncertainty
surrounding Bob Bradley. Except...we kinda have to address the Bob Bradley thing. The boys talk
about the "statement" that led to so much speculation, run down two very different lists of
possible candidates, and debate the merits of changing things up.

PASADENA, Calif -- The Mexican National Team may be without two of its starters Saturday night
in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final against the United States. Andres Guardado and Carlos Salcido have
taken their share of knocks in the tournament and though they remain optimistic about playing in
the highly-anticipated final, their availability is still a question mark.
F.C. Porto striker Radamel Falcao looks set to leave this summer, regardless of the uncertainty

On this day, the Summer solstice, supporters should be wedged into a period where footballing
issues come second to family holidays, all those cultural pursuits that we've neglected for the
past 10 months, and DIY. Instead, though, too many of us are forced into a state of continued
misery where ownership wrangles and uncertainty over our clubs' futures mean that we're still glue.
Over the years, lots of people - from fans to managers - have wondered about competitive balance in
football leagues. Is it healthy for the EPL to have teams like Chelsea or Manchester City with
seemingly endless access to players, staff, and know-how? Or is something not quite right when the
Wigans and Blackpools of this world struggle to not fall further behind?
Sky Sports News sources understand Liverpool will hold talks with Blackpool's Charlie Adam later
this week.
The Scotland international has long been a target of the Anfield club and they failed in an attempt
to agree a deal in the January transfer window.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish's interest in his compatriot is not thought to have ended and he
is again attempting to secure the playmaker, with Sky Bet suspending their market earlier on
Monday.
Xabi Alonso has opened his heart about the anguish he felt over his Anfield exit - and left the
door open for a sensational Liverpool reunion.
In a world exclusive interview - which premiered on LFC TV on Sunday night - the Spanish midfielder
spoke of the disappointment he felt for the supporters after making his decision to quit Merseyside
for Madrid in the summer of 2009, but insisted the time was right to take up a new challenge in his
career.
Well it's not yet confirmed but I am 90% certain that it will be after his latest comments this
week. I posted earlier in the week about him stating that he could combine both roles as a club
manager and a national coach once more as he did when he took over at Stamford Bridge while he was
manager of Russia.
I hate tryouts. I've always hated tryouts. Kids are stressed. Parents are stressed. Coaches are
stressed. Some of it reasonable, some of it not. In some areas with large programs, it amazes me
the intrigue and drama that goes on with the 'B' teams and the accusations (sometimes valid,
sometimes not) of clubs considering things other than skill in their evaluations.
Chelsea's young player of the year and rising star Josh McEachran is the subject of press
speculation this morning. In this article in the Express, it's believed that ex-employee Frank
Arnesen is trying to take advantage of the uncertainty at Chelsea at the moment as we continue to
look for a new manager, by making his interest in McEachran public.
