face of it, Chelsea reaching for Bolton's best defender to help shore up their own leaky backline

Another week and another win, as Juventus roll through Novara to keep their unbeaten streak intact.
It was always going to be a tall task for Novara as they entered the Juventus stadium and the home
team was unfortunate to not score more. Although the visitors did have a few chances, this match
was all Juve.
Manchester City scooped all 3 points on offer in their weekend fixture when they beat Arsenal
1-0 at the Etihad stadium. A second half goal from David Silva was enough to see the Citizens
maintain their lead atop the Premier League table.
Luck or no luck, statistically, the Gunners were the better side on the night, however, it was
not enough to see them keep their amazing unbeaten streak.
Winning is a habit, however, occasionally competitions have to be prioritised and anyone slating
the team selection for the Olympiacos game needs to understand that.
Football is down to money, and whilst the Champions League may bring in more money than the
majority of football clubs could ever dream of having, one away tie with the group already won can
afford to be treated as an insignificant game.
In a match in which Spurs enjoyed 80% possession, we once again ran out comfortable winners and
extended our unbeaten streak to 11 and our winning to six, the latter being a new premier league
record for us. This saw us in a temporary 2nd place and following a weekend where all our rivals
won as well, it was all about keeping the pace and we finish the weekend in third.

So finally we've gotten this game out of the way. After Madrid's Burger King Boys (Getafe) knocked
the wind off the sails of Barcelona, opening up a SIX (6!) point lead between us and them, the
trolling from Cule trash talkers seems to have gone on overdrive (check out the last few posts at
RMFB) – pushing the pre-clasico fever a couple of days too early.
Fulham defender John Arne Riise insists that he has no hard feelings towards Liverpool striker
Craig Bellamy.
During Bellamy's previous stint at Anfield, he was alleged to have attacked left-back Riise with a
golf club. At the time, both players were understood to have been fined two weeks' wages by the
Merseyside club.
On Saturday, the Revolution U-18s continued their winning ways, but the U-16s suffered their
first loss of the season as the squads faced Charlotte Soccer Academy in the Revs' first matches
of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase, which is being held at Premier Sports
Complex in Sarasota, Fla.
On-loan Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes that the most realistic aim for the
Spurs is to fight for a top-four finish rather than aiming specifically for the first place, which
is currently occupied by his parent club Manchester City.
The Citizens endured a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Napoli last night and are now on the
verge of elimination from Europe's top-tier club competition.
LA Galaxy 1-0 Houston Dynamo After failing to make it to the MLS Cup final last year, the LA Galaxy
were able to take home both the Supporter's Shield and the MLS Cup for the first time since 2002.

After being disappointed with Turkish National team not making the party in Europe, Turkish
football fans will focus the Turkish Super League once again...
The chaos in Turkish football since July of this year, did put a big damage on Turkish football and
Turkish National team.
Manchester City's success in leading the premier league table and also maintaining their
unbeaten streak have really earned them plenty admirers, but one of their important players, Yaya
Toure, revealed that record is not actually something they're after.
Toure confessed that being undefeated is not something that his team's are thinking about as for
the Ivory Coast international, acquiring success with the Eastlands is what matter the most.

Wolves vs Swansea City from Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton
The first match of the weekend see's a Wolves side who are on a terrible run of form currently
losing their last five matches in a row. The visitors look like they are starting to get to grips
with life in the Premier League more now, but having said that, the Welsh side are still the only
team in the league this season to not have collected a point on the road.
A depressing Derby...for one man...
TSG's Eric Giardini recounts the horrors of Sunday's Roma-Lazio
Derby
Heading into Sunday afternoon's Derby della Capitale I had every intention of writing an
unbiased review of one of the most hotly contested derbies in world soccer.
Clint Dempsey and Fulham came away empty handed against Stoke but Brad Friedel and Tottenham drew
Newcastle to keep extended their unbeaten streak to five games.
The Philly Soccer Page " Player Ratings and Analysis: Union 1-1 Toronto FC
With nothing left to play for in the 2011 MLS season, Toronto represented a fairly unpredictable
opponent. Aron Winter could have used Saturday's match at PPL Park to continue the development of
his new system and go for broke, attempting to play spoiler and steal a road victory.

Sebastien Le Toux's first half strike was not enough to see the Philadelphia Union through to
victory in their final home game of the regular season as Toronto FC's Ryan Johnson ruined the
party for the hosts with a 57th minute equalizer.
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The No. 21-ranked William and Mary Tribe women's soccer team extended its winning
streak to eight and its unbeaten streak to nine with a hard-fought, 1-0 win over Hofstra on the
road on Friday night. With the win, the Tribe improves its record to 12-1-2 overall and to a
perfect 7-0 in CAA conference play.
Manchester United will be hunting their first win at Anfield in four years when they make the trip
to bitter rivals Liverpool in Saturday's blockbuster clash.
As one of the most eagerly-anticipated fixtures of the season, the Saturday showdown promises to
get Premier League action back under way in style after the international break.
The playoffs are so close, and yet so far away for the Portland Timbers. With the players
healthy and coming off a big win away against the Vancouver Whitecaps the Timbers are in a good
position to make the playoffs. In this bye week for the Timbers with only a few games going on we
can take a look at the way the playoff run-up is taking shape.
Amaechi Igwe and Babelsberg face and early six-pointer against fellow strugglers Carl Zeiss Jena
while Preston Zimmerman and Darmstadt will try to run their unbeaten streak to three games.
The Marquette, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay men's soccer teams all ended the week with the same
number of wins as losses for the year. But they each got there in different ways.
The Golden Eagles extended their unbeaten streak with a draw and a win. Meanwhile, the Horizon
League rival Panthers and Phoenix hooked up for a thrilling Chancellor's Cup match in midweek then
had disappointing results on the weekend.

Freshman defender A.J. Cochran scored his first collegiate goal on a diving header in the
81st minute to give the University of Wisconsin a 1-1 draw with state rival Marquette in a
non-conference men's soccer match Wednesday night at the McClimon Complex.
Cochran finished off a free kick by junior midfielder Tomislav Zadro from the right
corner as the Badgers (4-3-2) extended their unbeaten streak to four heading into their Big Ten
Conference opener Sunday afternoon at home against No.
Waukesha West made the biggest jump in this week's Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state
boys rankings, jumping six places to No. 3 in the Division 1 poll.
The Wolverines (14-1-2) extended their unbeaten streak to 15 matches (13-0-2) last week,
knocking off then-No. 2 Neenah 2-1 on Saturday at the Cedarburg Tournament.
Fortune favors the Seattle Sounders as they have the opportunity to put themselves ahead of Real
Salt Lake on the first tie breaker with even just a tie. In the last meeting Seattle ended the Utah
side's home unbeaten streak, which should be good news when facing a team that is poor on the road
(12 points in 11 matches).

The Reds trying to extend an unbeaten streak that goes back nearly a month now but they also face a

Mexican national teams have won two international tournaments this summer, and El Tri's U-20
squad got one step closer to potentially making it three.
Mexico advanced to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup after defeaing Cameroon in a penalty
shootout following a 1-1 draw.
KC's Kei Kamara scored his 6th goal
The Seattle Sounders scored two late goals to steal a 2-1 victory from Sporting KC, snapping
Sporting's unbeaten streak at 14 matches.
In the 20th minute, Kei Kamara put KC up 1-0 with his sixth goal of the season.
KC was in control of the game until the very end.
All good things must come to an end, or in this case, they need to start. Sporting Kansas City's
run of form (14 unbeaten) started after the most recent loss to the Seattle Sounders when Jeff
Parke won the game in the 93rd minute. On the other side the SporKCs were the team that the
Sounders beat to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs in both 2009 and 2010.
Sporting KC (7-6-9) climbed over .500 for the first time since March with a 2-0 win over Real
Salt Lake (9-5-6) at Sporting Livestrong Park Wednesday night.
Roger Espinoza scored his first goal of the year and Teal Bunbury scored his second goal this
week. The Sporting defense also came up big, recording the team's first shutout since June 22
against Philadelphia despite playing a man down for much of the second half after Espinoza was
ejected.
Going into the MLS regular season and CONCACAF Champions League games last night, American
soccer fans knew it was going to be an interesting night. The CCL matches would determine who
would advance to the group stage while the three MLS games had major playoff implications.
However, even I was unprepared for the intense level of play and implications that came out of the
games last night.

Teal Bunbury didn't celebrate his second goal in as many games by doing a human bobblehead
routine. He didn't let the moment pass without a little gesture, though.
Bunbury made binoculars with his hands as the crowd roared after his 34th minute goal, the one
that ensured that Sporting Kansas City would run its unbeaten streak to 14 matches as SKC topped
Real Salt Lake 2-0 at Livestrong Sporting Park Wednesday night.
When Sporting Kansas City signed Omar Bravo to be a Designated Player last year, it was with
months like this past July in mind.
Bravo was the definition of a difference maker, playing key roles in several of Sporting KC's
matches as the streaking squad lengthened its unbeaten streak to 13 matches.
Portland's bark worse than its bite? The Timbers fans may be more intimidating than the

This weekend marks the beginning of the road trip of the year for Galaxy fans: Two games in five
days against two teams - the Whitecaps and Timbers - in a pair of beautiful coastal cities -
Vancouver and Portland.
Even better, these are real soccer strongholds.
Boisterous, knowledgeable fans.
