United's U-15 squad finishes prestigious youth tournament unbeaten
Washington, D.C. (January 10, 2012) – D.C. United's U-15 Academy team recently traveled to
Orlando, Fla. to participate in the annual Disney Soccer Showcase.
The draw that Chelsea achieved against Fulham on Monday, puts their chance in challenging for
title becomes difficult again and this situation is also being admitted by the club's manager,
Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese tactician doesn't want to say that everything is already over, since the
competition is still long, but the ex-Porto coach admitted that it's much more wiser for his team
to focus on their results first before looking at the top teams ahead of them.

Morning all.
Last night Chelsea beat Man City. Not with iron bars, sadly. If it were up to me teams I didn't
like (which is all of them) would be sent onto the pitch carrying clubs and planks with nails
sticking out of them and told to have at each other. The team with most men left standing at the
end gets the three points.
Chelsea have pretty much assured football fans that they have finally picked up their form
again, after hitting a slight drop in several matches ago, by successfully ending Manchester City's
unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge.
Substitute veteran, Franck Lampard, acted as the protagonist for the Blues after scoring the
winning goal, which arrived from the penalty spot in the second half, providing all imprtant three
points that would obviously get Andre Villas-Boas team's back in the title challenge.

Hyundai A-League champions Brisbane Roar finally lost their unbeaten record this season when
going down to a 2-0 reverse at the hands of Sydney FC today.
Two goals in the opening twenty minutes of the match put paid to Brisbane's chances of victory
today but the Roar still top the standings with a three point margin separating them from nearest
challengers Central Coast Mariners.

James Milner says Manchester City will be looking to make up for their last performance at
Liverpool, when they travel to Anfield on Sunday.
The Etihad Stadium team was walloped 3-0 in front of the Kop last season, and Milner says Roberto
Mancini's side want to put it right this time.
It will be no easy task, however, as Kenny Dalglish's team are now joint with City and Newcastle in
having the meanest defensive record in the league.

Kenny Dalglish extends his remarkable unbeaten record against Chelsea from his two spells in

It may not have lived up to Sir Alex Ferguson's billing as the greatest match-up in English
football but Liverpool's draw at home to Manchester United was typically not without incident.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was denied a dream return to the starting line-up when his

Now that Germany has qualified for the Euro 2012 tournament with ease, with an unbeaten record,
anticipation is building for the tournament next summer.
But what kits will Germany be wearing for their "home" and "away" matches in Poland and
Ukraine.

England secured themselves a ball in Sepp Blatter's Polkraine 2012 perspex fishbowl with a 2-2

dispossessed and duly left his side a man down for the last 20 minutes.

As we enter the second to last month of the MLS regular season, I would like to make a few
observations. The Union's once secure hold on a playoff spot has become tenuous as of late. Despite
the roster changes over the course of the season, many of the same problems that were apparent in
May are still rearing their ugly heads:
1.
Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher believes that despite the club's failure to finish within
the top five positions in the Barclays Premier League in the last two seasons, this could be the
year it all changes for the Merseysiders.
The Reds endured a frustrating period towards the end of Rafa Benitez's reign before things
appeared to have hit an all-time low under Roy Hodgson last year.
Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher has hailed teammate Luis Suarez as the kind of player who
will ensure that the club does not fall out of contention for the top four spots the way they did
last season.
In the absence of skipper Steven Gerrard, the Reds are obviously not playing at their full
potential but Carragher has largely attributed their unbeaten record thus far to the energy and
brilliance of January signing Suarez.

Painful as it is, cast your mind back to that fateful day in October 2004 where we lost our
unbeaten record at Old Trafford. Why? Because in spite of not winning the Champions League that
year, that Arsenal side was the best in world football. And they were beaten not by a great
counter-attacking performance, not by being out-passed or out-played, but by being kicked and an
outrageous dive from Wayne Rooney.
Kenny Dalglish may have conquered Europe as a Liverpool player, but admits he is honoured to now be
able to lead them in continental competition as manager.
The 59-year-old won the European Cup three times in seven years during his playing days.
But the ban imposed on English clubs in 1985 – after the role played by Reds fans in the Heysel
Stadium disaster – robbed him of the chance to extend that tally as a manager, having taken over
from Joe Fagan after that fateful night.
It was a record breaking weekend in Spain as Barcelona set a new unbeaten record in Liga winning

Barcelona set another fabulous benchmark on Saturday as their 3-0 home win against Atletico Madrid

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher insists that no attention is being given to the Red
Devils' current unbeaten run. Fletcher and his teammates had a scare last evening as they found
themselves 2-0 down to Blackpool at halftime, but not only did they find a way to overturn the
deficit, they also went on to score a dramatic winner to cap off an excellent performance.
